I stopped giving importance to framerate in games long ago. If it's 60 that's fine, so is 30 too. Even the drops in Earth Defense Force games don't stop me from enjoying them either.

        >are you blind?
I can tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps visually. It's just that it doesn't make much a difference to me in practice, especially in anything singleplayer.
I've also been playing enough different games over a long time so that this shit doesn't bother me in the end.

Doesn't really matter to me because I still have my copy of the original but it is pretty pathetic that a remake can't even match the framerate of the original from three generations ago. You'd have to be pretty whipped to defend something like that.

I dunno. Does it matter? It's Paper Mario. I'm not really getting it either way so I don't really care much. But why do you care about the framerate of Paper Mario?

Something that keeps TTYD pretty fun to play as an adult who's good at games is the inclusion of stylish commands and superguard, both which require you to learn invisible timing windows that allow you to both use your star power way more often or nullify damage outright. Superguard especially has a window of around 3/60th of a second (potentially less with the badges that tighten the timing) to pull off with variable attack timing, which is pretty damn hard.

Pretty much any game where tight timing is a key mechanic is less enjoyable at a lower framerate where you have less visual information to go off of. I would say that on its own halving the framerate makes this the inferior version of the game, which isn't what you want for a remake made twenty years later.

funny that the original on a much weaker system is 60fps but on the more powerful one can't go above 30.

Funny that the old version had less good graphics which is why it could achieve 60fps but you guys love to overlook that

no, because it isnt an animation intensive game. you'll never notice it and it will never matter. it they never told you and you never turned on something to measure it, you would never know or notice. you clowns are kidding yourselves.

Get your eyes checked. I played TTYD as a kid, back then, I didn't know what frame rates are and I noticed it being much smoother than the likes of Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion and Ocarina of Time. I only realised it was in 60fps many years later in retrospect.

I don't care because as early as later this year or next it will be a none issue due to emulation and new Nintendo hardware.

isn’t the point of consoles that the hardware doesn’t change so developers become more adept and skilled at coding for it overtime? Later releases are supposed to run better and look better than earlier ones, not worse.

I got a lot of hate for refusing to buy it at 30 fps. It’s not only a downgrade, but button timing actually matters in a Mario rpg. It’s it was a regular turn based rpg, it wouldn’t matter too much.

But I was playing and I even got past the 2nd dungeon inside the tree and never realize I was locked to 30 fps this whole time. Really, what now at this point?
