My character design is great
However, after years of playing the game, I finally used my ARR fanta, and I used it so that my limbals would be the same color as my eyes. I used my ARR fanta to change my eye color slightly lighter, and my limbal color also slightly lighter, because the end result is that the eye color seamlessly blends into the limbal color, which makes my character's eyes look like they have a bit of a "highlight" without having an obvious limbal. I used my ARR fanta specifically for this one purpose and for nothing else
The 7.0 benchmark changes both the color of my eyes and the color of the limbal, so that the limbal is an ugly orange color while the eye is a darker yellow than it is in 6.58. My character, for the most part, does look better, but my eyes are completely and exactly ruined. The only reason I used my ARR fanta has been completely and totally undone by the graphics update
(skin color, face, hair, etc have all been changed are are not what my character look like - this was done because the focus is on the eyes color)

You have people who are providing feedback on their character and how they look in the new graphical update—something that is totally reasonable, and has resulted in posture changes for male Viera in the past, for instance. These people have been playing their characters for so long that they can instantly notice the model changes that SE has made, and are justifiably providing feedback because they don't want to have to craft an entirely new look for the character they've spent X years growing attached to. And how does the community at large react? They downplay it. They try to convince people that they're just seeing things. That they just need to see it in motion. And 90% of the time these "downplayers" aren't even playing the same fricking race, so of course they're not going to be as critical.
Even assuming that these SE dicksucking homosexuals are right, and that it's completely in the heads of... wow, a really substantial portion of the community? Including a ton of JP players, who are also upset and providing feedback? Why the frick is your first reaction to immediately RUSH to Yoshi-P's defense and downplay these people? I genuinely can't fathom being such a wretched, soulless corporate shill. The only conceivable answer is that morons like you have been legitimately brainwashed and converted into cultists, where your entire existence is predicated on your investment into FFXIV. I played warrior and white mage only for arr ans then shb when I returned. Finally tried out different dps jobs in ew and now I can only have fun as Black mage or ninja. I've tried to gear up my warrior but it's so brain dead boring. Haven't even bothered to try heal again as I expect it will be as boring as tanking is.

tanks also tend to have lots of weirdly specific level range quirks, like how there are points as warrior pre 74 where doing single target in aoe is actually a dps gain because of the beast gauge its getting you

I've already taken a fanta to go roe. I was always a lala and sure, it was easy to make friends with other lalas and we would emote spam each other to death but seeing how beautiful roes become in 7.0 I'm thinking "frick lalas, time to go tall". I can endure how my roe looks now and get used to being tall so I'm ready to explore the new world from a taller perspective. Bonus points for finally giving my boy Rathalos the respect he deserves. Is the PLD questline supposed to be a joke?
They didn't quite "get" that the Sultansworn was a literary dead end until Stormblood, at which point it did become a joke.
pld questline is more interesting then the gld one. I dunno why people get so caught up in the pld questline being about the lore of the specific group of paladins/knights but somehow "gladiator" being more like a private cop that never once fights in the arena is ok.
I can understand people being annoyed that its not very good guy paladin-y and is more about the literal meaning of the world paladin as a knight but like, you already have the entire msq and most of the yellow quests to be a wandering dogooder helping people for no expectation of reward so they really had nothing else they could do

The PLD questline was so fricking bad they just went back to GLD shenanigans. It's a fricking joke and needs a rewrite.
The Paladin quest isn't shit because it's about being a knight errant, it's shit because it's complete fricking nonsense from start to finish. They also had a perfect set up for the Paladin questline to actually be about the Paladins themselves and restoring their order to its original glory, but that's completely ignored for Solkzagyl's insane bullshit gambit to make the Oathkeeper sparkle that even the characters in the story say doesn't make any fricking sense at all.
PLD quests should have been about reconnecting the Sultansworn to their Belah'dian roots.
The whole premise of you becoming a Paladin is that their order is on death's door so they're passing around soul crystals to adventurers. The obvious assumption is that this would put you on Don Quixote style windmill tilting (while boring given sidequests and their nature, you still don't do anything in PLD quests that really specifically REQUIRES you be a PLD) and instead you become embroiled in the politics of the Sultansworn, chiefly that their current captain is a moron, and their AWOL previous captain, who is a moron of a different flavor. With the Sultansworn secured they had no idea of where the hell to even go with it for Heavensward, and after Solkzagyl repeatedly endangers and kills several people to make a trophy sword shine, even characters involved in it remark on the sheer pointlessness of the whole questline and what the frick Solkzagyl's weird thing had to do with any of them, least of all the elezen he roped in as a trainee.
Holy fricking shit I've lived long enough to actually see someone defend the pile of nonsensical dogshit that is the PLD quest. We've reached the peak of contrarianism.
