Because I liked how picrel felt before they fricked with it and made it "meta". Even when I don't want to be a part of those fricking homosexuals and their endless metachasing Bungie still feels like they need to ruin the shit I like.
Reminds me of playing mordhau with a friend, unarmored and unarmed except for smoke bombs. Cause bedlam with smoke bombs, then punch people to death before they get their bearings
For me it was the Saiga with slug rounds. caused SO much butthurt.
I'd play gun game a lot to with the intention of dragging the match out as long as possible by knifing everyone so they kept getting demoted a level. I repeatedly kept getting banned from a server by knifing one of the mods to the point where he accused me of having an aimbot on my knife.
There are different levels to it. The pic is obviously just a strawman situation of somebody being obstinately moronic to defy what the developers intended which, yes, is bad, but if you are continually looking up guides to perfect the latest broken bullshit and claim that anyone doing anything less is wrong you might be an autistic homosexual.
because b***h I AM the fricking meta
i'm ahead of the curve
6 months from now you'll be doing/building/speccing what I'm doing and yelling at me that i'm doing it wrong anyway
>explore new builds >find something better then meta >it becomes meta >gets nerfed
so much this, every single time Black folk whining and screaming that im trolling and in a month people casually do what i did a month ago. and i still recieve hate in my adress cause now im trying out different stuff. such is the way of a pioneer
I don't have a problem with people playing not-meta builds, Hell *I* usually play those builds like two handed knight in ragnarok online or trap assassin in Diablo 2. As long as they're not a total liability on the team it's alright to play.
>lose with non-meta build
wooooow my character sucks so of course you won >win with non-meta build
wooooow you must really suck to actually lose to this character
"Antimeta" as in deliberately ignoring the meta entirely is fricking idiotic 12-year-old stoner shit where you have zero plan for anything and might as well be griefing your own team and yourself. Being more "countermeta" as in "this niche build fricks over players who follow the meta blindly" is how you troll the other team because they don't know how to counter your plans. Like, a caster who normally uses Intelligence for his spells may have summons that scale very well off of the caster's Strength. These are normally just minor distractions and may be ignorable, because it's the only thing that the caster uses Strength for. So you instead build the caster to take advantage of the summons, a strategy that metathumpers aren't familiar with because they only know how players usually build the caster. Grief the other team with your esoteric bullshit and make them feel very silly for losing to a stupid build that somehow works. Otherwise you're just defecating yourself at a ping pong tournament instead of putting laxatives in your opponent's water.
I don't refuse to play along with the meta, I resent you turbonerds who think the meta magically presents itself with every patch release and is not just the amalgamation of trickle-down tactics from pro matches running builds and plays you don't even have the skill to emulate
Bad players think about meta, good players invent the meta as they go along
If there is any game with an objective set of skills/items/whatever that supercede every other option in any situation then it's a shit game by default
This, be a trendsetter. Know what could work under certain circumstances and take advantage of it. Just frick over the opponents and make their lives hell, instead of doing shit like buying MP-based items for anyone who has zero MP.
If the thing I like is meta, cool, I'll use it.
If the thing I like isn't meta, that's fine, I'll still use it.
It's that simple. Optimization is fine but optimizing fun away is lame.
Because sometimes the meta is wrong. You think the meta is developed scientifically by teams of experts analyzing every part of the game? No, it's one nerd that does really well with build X and every other nerd copies it. Nobody tries build Y, Z, or A because why bother, build X is the best, everyone uses it.
It's a monkey ladder situation. We've seen this happen time and time again in competitive games where competition is region locked. You have teams of American players going up against Japanese and they get absolutely rocked by what they think is a suboptimal character/strat because they never bothered thinking outside the tiers they set themselves.
Its more like i want to create a build of my own rather doing what everyone else is doing. Might not be as good as the meta but getting self made builds to work is fun.
I want to make everyone's life miserable because what was once meta got nerfed into the ground and now it's considered off-meta, but it was my favorite way to play, so I'll keep doing it just to punish the community.
Because the meta often times isn't fun, or even if it is, it gets stale over time.
Experimenting with different builds and strategies is how new metas are developed.
It’s boring. What’s even the point of having multiple players in a game if everyone is doing the same thing? Why bother having any choices in the first place? Don’t put things in a game if players shouldn’t use it; the problem is that games don’t tune themselves well enough. If the fishing rod isn’t meant for combat, don’t allow it to be used for combat. If a wizard isn’t meant to use strength, gave them gain little benefit from it. In a pvp sense, metahomosexualry is more psychological by contrast; an esport homosexual will do something, all his fans will adopt it, and it spreads like wildfire from there. The problem is that most players aren’t good enough to truly execute what the esports homosexual did and, therefor, would often be better off doing something else but their insecure follower mindset doesn’t let them.
>play non meta >win >seems like my display of insurmountable skill really showed those smelly meta nerds who is the boss >lose >wow you managed to win against me when i play with such colossal handicap good for you lmao
you cant refute me
Because what's meta is defined by a bunch of morons following other morons.
To give an egregious example, in Shit of homosexuals, going Annie or Morgana support was considered trolling UNTIL they got popular. Then they absolutely dominated the meta so bad they got nerfed to oblivion (morgana's anti-cc magic shield's HP got nuked unless you build AP, annie's stun got shortened from 1.75s to 1.25s scaling with level, spell and AA range got cut by 50 units)
Listen up, homosexual. Daddy has arrived, open your anus and get ready. Depending on the context of what you're playing, you should play meta, if it's a competitive game, the whole point of the game (match) is to win, you optimized as much as possible to make sure that you win. If the game has multiple team-members, you shouldn't even try to step away from meta unless you know what you're doing and understand the game mechanics to a mastery level, otherwise, you would be doing a disservice to the people who are playing, because they too want to win and get better. Yes you should be reported and possibly banned for life.
Now, there is a way to beat system meta, and that is to have sandbox style emergent immersive gamestyles, for example in older D&D, your character skill to a degree did not matter, what mattered was player skill, meaning your ability and critical thinking skills in how you navigated your environment, your use of physical object within the world, and much much more. Even running away denoted victory, pitting other enemies against each other while you sneak away, etc. The whole meta shit arrived with 3.0 D&D and onward which is where it turned into power-fantasy superhero bullshit and what mattered was how well equipped your character was and how you could cheat the system because it now focused on stats.
>Now, there is a way to beat system meta
No there isn't (if you mean "not having a meta"). Competitive videogames always have metas. Tabletop games are not comparable.
Of course "metas" in single player games are dumb as frick.
Mostly because I'm not a try hard homosexual, and partially due to me having fun beating people that just Google a build instead of actually getting good at a game with joke or shitty builds.
Because I liked how picrel felt before they fricked with it and made it "meta". Even when I don't want to be a part of those fricking homosexuals and their endless metachasing Bungie still feels like they need to ruin the shit I like.
homie, year 1 exotics were fricking boring af
Because I live by the rule of cool.
Looks like shit? Not gonna use it.
Looks cool? Gimme that.
It's shit? I don't care.
>rule of cool
Function IS cool. If it sucks, it's not cool. Simple as.
>op weapon
Boring and predictable
>beating a man to death with a fish and taunting afterward
Scout_schadenfreude.wav
Reminds me of playing mordhau with a friend, unarmored and unarmed except for smoke bombs. Cause bedlam with smoke bombs, then punch people to death before they get their bearings
Good on you for using fists... but I fricking hate you for throwing smokes
>Function IS cool
so be useful and stop playing video-games, dweeb.
Efficient video game builds are always stupid and gay.
The only thing that is cool is displays of competency, everything that is cool is cool because of it being indicative of power.
Fish poles are cool.
I liked pomfing people with one-hit kills across the map and I was sad when they nerfed it in BF3
I simply play until I’m not having fun.
If I must mod the game to have fun then I will.
If I must use console commands, then I will.
Because it's far more satisfying to negate the "you're just using meta" excuse.
Fun Playstyle > Fashion and Cool looks >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Build OptimisationMetagayging
I enjoy optimizing but that is useful up to a certain degree when it comes to games, it drains the fun out of the game.
because b***h I AM the fricking meta
i'm ahead of the curve
6 months from now you'll be doing/building/speccing what I'm doing and yelling at me that i'm doing it wrong anyway
What gaem is this
EVE online, that's an amarr empire cruiser, i don't remember the named rn
looks like a Maller with the Cold Iron skin on
so much this, every single time Black folk whining and screaming that im trolling and in a month people casually do what i did a month ago. and i still recieve hate in my adress cause now im trying out different stuff. such is the way of a pioneer
>armored core 6 pvp
Wizard guy is in the right, unironically.
Not if he’s playing a MOBA. That shits infuriating.
MOBAs suck ass, Wizard guy is based for making them even worse.
Fishpole very epic.
Having fun instead of showing off your big numbers to the other internet dwellers.
Because I have a soul
I don't have a problem with people playing not-meta builds, Hell *I* usually play those builds like two handed knight in ragnarok online or trap assassin in Diablo 2. As long as they're not a total liability on the team it's alright to play.
Cause i only come here so i dont know what the self inserts are doing at any given point. Just go by with what i got until i get other things
>lose with non-meta build
wooooow my character sucks so of course you won
>win with non-meta build
wooooow you must really suck to actually lose to this character

Why don't you like shitting on metaslaves?
If the thing I like is meta, cool, I'll use it.

It's that simple. Optimization is fine but optimizing fun away is lame.
The zoomers ruined WoW Classic for me with their gay BIS optimal strats
>zoomers
that shit was entirely dadgamer gays
no one under 25 play wow classic past level 17

How does a meta even develop if there are no players experimenting or looking to actively counter what is considered the meta?
Loudest Black folk on youtube dictate what's meta
Because the meta often times isn't fun, or even if it is, it gets stale over time.
Experimenting with different builds and strategies is how new metas are developed.

I like how this image tries portraying the wizard as being in the wrong even though literally every single thing he's saying is incorrect.
>play non meta
>win
>seems like my display of insurmountable skill really showed those smelly meta nerds who is the boss
>lose
>wow you managed to win against me when i play with such colossal handicap good for you lmao

I look like this and play like this
Plz be my malewife
this
>I win with a meme build? lmao
>I lose with a meme build? lmao
>AP Alistair
>AD Alistair
>strawmen
have a nice day FOTMgay.
The meta is for NPC'S. Main Characters don't play the meta.
dont care about min maxing like a idiot unless its competetive
also the situation in that pic has NEVER happened
Because what's meta is defined by a bunch of morons following other morons.
To give an egregious example, in Shit of homosexuals, going Annie or Morgana support was considered trolling UNTIL they got popular. I don't understand how morons slept on Morgana support for so long. For me she was dumb from the moment they buffed the gold items.
Because then I can't blame my failure on my non-standard playstyle.
figuring stuff out is part of the fun.
If you do what everyone else is doing you are still just playing on the highest level of mediocrity
Who cares? Why do I need to follow a specific playstyle just to enjoy the game? I'll pick whatever I want and stick with it.
I don't like PvP
Because it's boring.
I don't refuse anything. I do what's fun. If it happens to not be meta then it is what it is
