The entire point of ostracization, is an inability to connect or express oneself comfortably because humans are social creatures that seek to be respected and connect with others. If every time you say something, your lambasted with some arbitrary slur, that's no functionally different from people in real life giving you weird looks, or keeping you away from them. Being "barred" is a stupid word, because the way you use it implies that there's some meaningful difference between being barred and "rejected" or avoided. Somebody ignoring you, dismissing you, or devaluing you is effectively the same. The point is that any connection, any exchange of ideas. Any feeling of being able to comfortably express oneself... is shut down.
If every time you say something genuine, and benign, nobody actually engages with what you're saying, and just calls you a "homosexual", "Black person" or "troony" then. They are TELLING you that what you're saying is invalid, by basis of their assumption that you are NOT like them.
