This is on top of Resonant armor not being a sure thing in every run, which is good for the roguelike side of it but very bad for the MMX side of it
I find this interesting because Ace is by far the better character and relies a lot less on "getting lucky" with powerups. pick ascent, projectile counter and shadow double from bosses and you have mobility, defense and damage all covered just from three boss weapons. Ace's mobility focus in his *powers* is good but I find it insufferable that he has no weight when he's using anything that isn't Ryuusei, and doesn't ground himself for hay-hoo-ha saber attacks or charged sabers. Charged saber implementation sucks too while I'm at it, it's been a consistent problem for Ace since 20XX that his charged saber is really unimaginative to the point that taking MMZ's splash saber swing would be better. But it feeds back to them not wanting Ace to ground himself or be rooted in place for any attack at all.
Sidescrollers are still sidescrollers and X7 was poorly received. What I meant was a high profile 3D platformer like Mario 64, Sunshine, Wonder etc. Current Capcom isn't willing to take a gamble and make an actual AAA with Megaman.
>Mega Man 11 is the best selling game in the entire franchise
Which puts it at 65th place on Capcom's best seller list. It just isn't a premier IP for them, all we're gonna get is crumbs every few years. No need to delude ourselves.
Came here to essentially post this. Capcom, for all the good that they do, is among the most blatantly money hungry Japanese developers. They don't hate Mega Man - they just know that they can't monetize him the same way that they can a MH, RE, or Street Fighter title. As much as it hurts to say, Mega Man just isn't "worth their time." They are also still butthurt over Inafune who hurt their Japanese honoru
Mega man games have to be cheap as shit to produce. The profits Mega man probably generates have to be huge even if its not selling 5-10 million copies.
They are but that's why they don't make them anymore. every project at Capcom is all-hands-on-deck. Previously, it used to be the project, along with quite a few others, they would put people on with downtime between major huge releases like Street Fighter.
Remember Rival schools? The reason we aren't getting more of that isn't because of Hinata's panties or it selling less than SF or whatever. It's because it was a project that had members from their fighting game dedicated to it on downtime between games. But SF doesn't have downtime anymore, it's a continuing services game with DLC, with extra characters, with additional content for that game constantly being released. There is no time for someone to go and make a new game with whatever resources they have just to put something on the shelves for that year. IIRC, MM11 isnt' even an in-house game, it was outsourced.
>MM11 isnt' even an in-house game, it was outsourced
MM11 was developed in-house, but the reason it took so long to get off the ground was because someone had to step up "to be the new mega man guy", and also present a passable pitch. Based on what the guy who got MM11 going said, there might have been other MM game pitches in the interim, but those pitches probably weren't good enough, or like you said, most of the developers were busy with bigger projects.
That's not how the 90s Capcom arcade division worked. They had enough devs to work on multiple games at a time, and teams were formed on a per-game basis. While some people were working on Rival Schools, others would be working on Jojo, others would be working on Third Strike, and so on.
>There's no way to make a 2D/sprite based one sell as much as their big franchises
Do you have any idea how much fricking money Sonic Mania made? What is with these japs thinking that nostalgia doesn't sell a profane amount?
Sonic Mania didn't make as much as you think. It was $20. That's probably why Superstars is 2.5D because 3D models let them come up with the excuse to charge full price. Both devs and consumers inherently believe you can't charge full price for pixel games now.
>Sonic Mania didn't make as much as you think. It was $20.
literally everything made after mania has been seething that it did well and incorporating it into their own works
tee lopes still composes for sega now, mania's physics engine was used for superstars, and sonic team fricking loves the drop dash
Since this exact same thing was said about Sonic by Iizuka, with Superstars being their answer, and it flopped next to Mania, I'm either starting to think these japs are moronic or it takes fans to make a good 2D game these days.
Sonic's problem is a little different than Megaman's. Capcom just won't do anything with their mascot, while Sega will do anything BUT what fans want. Capcom has internal devs who know how to make a good game but won't set them down with it to work on. Sonic doesn't, and refuses to hire studios who clearly do.
Because what else is there for them to do? Classic will always be classic and can almost never deviate. X is a fricking mess from top to bottom with experimentation that ranges from good to terrible on top of plot moronation. Battle Network is done. Legends, who gives a frick about Legends outside the people who actually played the 2nd one. Zero series is also finished. That leaves Star Force and ZX which had promising futures, but also released around the time Inafune left whom was the sole reason Capcom kept producing these games. Now it's been roughly 15 and trying to continue their stories, but really who cares at this point when Capcom themselves show no interest in keeping them going.
Mega Man is good for cross promos at this point. They know Mega Man doesn't sell like Sonic or Mario, but they're also aware people will support games where his likeness is involved.
I hate THAT Mega Man. Nintendo looked at 8-bit Mega's nonplussed expression and thought that's what people want to see so now we have this unexpressive doll-like Mega Man who can only make 😐 and :O faces.
ok moron here, im not *that* big into megaman (because i suck) but why does everyone use rockman & forte for that specific game but use megaman for everything else?
I don't think they do but after the crazy market saturation in the 90s and 2000s and the decline in quality that came with that, I don't blame them for wanting to slow down. Not to mention that a lot of the people involved in the IP over the years left the company or retired altogether.
I don't know why either because Rockman & Forte is a damn fine game in my opinion.
Oh stop. Megaman was never better than when he was getting yearly entries in the 90's. It wasn't until Capcom started giving Megaman a shoestring budget in X6 and onwards that the series' quality plummeted.
X is specifically what I am referring to, but also stuff like Battle Network 4. Which is funny because 5 and 6 are good, 6 especially is excellent. And yeah they were cooking when they made Dynatron.

MN9 is pretty questionable for what it is in comparison to most Mega Man games. Mighty/Gal Gunvolt Burst is the good one admittedly.

I was really wary of it when I first heard the idea that Beck would copy basic stage enemies since it gave me MMX7 and X8 flashbacks to Axl. The idea is way cooler than any execution of it ever could be and X7 did it more justice with copying small abilities and power-ups kinda like a projectile Z-Knuckle.

The Z-knuckle is close to what it should have been. I will not forgive them for abandoning this to give us mild stat boosts. Imagine if Inafune paid game designers to plan the fricking game instead of squander it on a stillborn media empire.

the absolute best part about Mega Man 11 is that they were able to pick the actual good ideas from MN9 and use them, including the ones that didn't get used at all, like the different weapons giving more than a color pallet change.

>including the ones that didn't get used at all, like the different weapons giving more than a color pallet change.
Except MN9 did do that, those concept art designs were for transformations gained from regular enemies.

Anon, the concept of taking parts from regular enemies sucks donkey shit. Regular enemies are all trash. The Z-Knuckle is proof of this; most weapons for it are worthless.

You take that back, at LEAST half of the weapons are a ton of fun. Even if everyone uses the axe

Most weapons are just degraded versions of weapons that already existed in the series before or minor sidegrades. Here's the thing: most mobs aren't designed to be particularly efficient or effective. They exist to be mowed down and their weapons are rarely that useful. There's pretty much nothing in Z4 that merits replacing the Z-Saber or buster shot.

Giving Mega Man some features of the boss to represent the Gear system having weird effects on his body was a really neat idea and a really neat middle finger to Inafune

I'd call that "the kirby approach" more than anything. Megaman finally using more than a palette change doesn't necessarily come from MN9. Kirby started wearing hats back on SNES.

Yoshi's Island transformations with some dedicated enemies for puzzle segments probably both would've done the idea more justice and been more appropriate for the kind of game it wanted to be, it's not like Mega Man didn't do that itself sometimes with stuff like the water-bike in Wave Man's level or JUMP, JUMP, SLIDE, SLIDE

Nothing wrong with the Switch version, make sure to download the demo and play that as Ekoro, then you can transfer the demo's save file to the full game and unlock her there without paying for her DLC. She's part of the base game by default on the later PC and PS4 ports.

Eh, it's not that nad honestly. Definitely wasn't worth the wait but in a vacuum it's serviceable. The characters look good too, Dynatron and Ray especially. Beck sucks though.
I hate people that want megaman x to connect with the zero series
Each Battle Network is on average 20-30 hours, and that isn't even including the postgame stuff.
and then they pulled a Pokemon starting with 3 and each entry has an additional version.
And then there's Star Force. And then there's the multiplayer for each, especially Battle Network due to the recent collection. Yeah, it might be a Discord "Fighter" now, but you're still able to play online without dealing with emulator nonsense.
I want a mega man metroidvania thats not ZX and a 3d mega man in the vein of old ratchet and clank games and its sad capcom wont even let indies make it happen
Capcom won't invest time into mega man if they can invest into monster hunter instead and get better returns.
Mega man is profitable, but not NEARLY as profitable as MH.
They don't, he just has no place in their current business model. It would be more appropriate to say they just don't care about him than they hate him.
Capcom would literally toss one of their fighting games in the garbage for not selling 5 million units in a week. The blue bomber is lucky to hit over 1 million units sold.
It has a lot of things going for it, but if you find even a single problem with it, that problem is going to haunt you because it's kind of the same few gimmicks recycled over and over again.
People give MMX6 and X5 shit but those games had a variety of stages with different gimmicks each stage. This mostly has a few, and just swaps between them.
>This mostly has a few, and just swaps between them.
Isn't that just the roguelite mode? I haven't played it, but I do know a dude who did. I remember him telling me the game has traditional stages too, you just need to toggle them, right?
They're right tho.
Legendsgays are the TWEWY of the Mega Man fanbase.
All that screeching and whining for a sequel to TWEWY, and it still sold poorly.
Just because people are lound, doesn't mean they are plentiful. Companies tend to confuse the two, like when Sony embarrassingly re-released Morbius in theaters just to gross 10,000 revenue in the box office.
>They're right tho.
lmao no, especially when they straight up said in the dev room trailer that it's perfectly okay to not participate. >All that screeching and whining for a sequel to TWEWY, and it still sold poorly.
So we're just pretending that Squeenix didn't blatantly sabotage N:TWEWY's advertising every single chance they got? Okay, homosexual.
Squeenix also blatantly sabotaged both Mana remakes, and both sold well enough to warrant an entirely new entry. Squeenix also stated they even sold "beyond their expectations"
>Squeenix also blatantly sabotaged both Mana remakes
Did they though, did they really? I've seen TWEWY fans on here being surprised that the game was on PC several months after release, and let's not forget when they freed it from Epic jail and finally released on Steam two fricking days before the Persona 5 Royal port, and all they mustered up was a tweet on the TWEWY Twatter account. Bet actual fans even now don't know Neo's on Steam, that's how little they tried.

Does a higher up have a grudge against the series or something? That level of incompetence doesn't seem natural.
>Corrupted >Perfect Blue >Innocent Impulse >MAGMML 3 >Unlimited 2
It's kinda funny how many fangames are also just in fricking development limbo
Truly a cursed IP
>WAIT A MINUTE!?!? >I HAVE TO PLAY 11 MEGAMAN GAMES TO PLAY MEGAMAN 12!?!?!? >I HAVE TO PLAY 15 FINAL FANTASY GAMES TO PLAY FINAL FANTASY 16!?!? >I HAVE TO PLAY 5 GTA GAMES TO PLAY GTA 6!?!? >I HAVE TO PLAY EVERY GOD OF WAR SO THAT I CAN PLAY THE NEW ONE!? >I HAVE TO PLAY 6 HALO GAMES TO PLAY HALO INFINITE!?!? >I HAVE TO PLAY 40 YEARS OF MARIO GAMES BEFORE I PLAY SUPER MARIO WONDER!? >No you dont.. >I WONT PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!
In short.
Americans are moronic.
Capcom is on record for deceiving people by being vague about what generation monster hunter games are because they think that people are scared of numbers.
Which unironically led to people getting spoiled on ace attorney games because they played them out of order.
Same goes for layton games, even though its not capcom.
There's nothing you can do with Megaman that hasn't been done. If you deviate too much it just stops being megaman. At least there's a bunch of fangames in development and coming out all the time. I'm happy.
That's just nonsense. All you need to do (for a mainline entry) is have 8 robot masters, have a power weakness flowchart, and have a stage full of minor enemies that ends in a boss fight.
Things like MML, MMBN, and MMZX didn't even strictly follow these guidelines.
MMZ even challenged the basic notion that you need a blue hero with an arm cannon in the lead.
>There's nothing you can do with Megaman that hasn't been done.
I'm still yet to find a 3D metroidvania exploration game like Mega Man Legends. It just hasn't been done again.
Legends is kind of tedious >Don't miss that misshapen texture on the wall to the left along an alcove or you'll miss out on one of the best weapons in the game and you'll never know you did it!
In 2D it makes sense because you can just powerbomb everything until you find the secrets.

yeah the super janky dash and minecraft's own physics got in the way, they didn't really try to make the game feel good. they tried a lot harder with the sonic crossover
They obviously weren't Megaman fans to try and do what they did. I don't know why they'd make a faithful Metroid, but then a complete betrayal of Megaman if they were.
Honestly it looks kind of cool, don't get why people got so mad at it, Megaman already has a frickton of separate sub series, it's not like they'd forget the classic one, back then IIRC Megaman 9 and 10 were recently released too.
Also, wtf? After the X anthology I expected them to shit X9 but nothing happened? Why?
Why not give him a face
Edgy mega man isn't a bad idea, look how many people are fans of the fan works that are just edgy mega man like Megas or Protomen.
But why did it have to look so damn ugly?
It looks nothing like Megaman. It's like an unironic "Americanized Kirby" meme that make him an edgelord. Go ahead and make the game, but don't call it "Megaman." This isn't Megaman.
>Maverick Hunter would have been a trilogy that'd end with Zero killing X
As if the Zero series wasn't obvious enough about who Inafune preferred (y'know, considering he pretty much designed Zero before X)
Sonic Mania didn't make as much as you think. It was $20. That's probably why Superstars is 2.5D because 3D models let them come up with the excuse to charge full price. Both devs and consumers inherently believe you can't charge full price for pixel games now.
Then just don't make the same game again? Mega Man fans will take anything at this point, in fact some would like it even more if they started a brand new series that was creative and did something fresh and new.
Mega Man has like over a 100 video games. More than most other video game mascots by an insane amount. I don't think Capcom hate Mega Man, but now games are just so expensive there's no way they could make profit on a 2D platformer since the market seems to view those as just bad and outdated by default.
>but now games are just so expensive there's no way they could make profit on a 2D platformer
Just outsource it to a smaller dev and put it as a download only title. That's literally what they did with MM9 and 10. What's so hard about doing that again?
Not that guy, but Capcom is rumored to have a hate boner for Inti Creates and doesn't want to work with them anymore. And honestly a fair amount of Mega Man fans have a hate boner for them as well, even over Capcom as well in regards to the franchise.
Honestly. I was looking at Capcom library and all of them seem incomplete as frick. I guess SF is their most polished turd but almost everything else has holes all over. Whether it's the gameplay that needed just a tiny bit more fine tuning or a story that left a huge plot gap or plot holes all over the place. Even replaying BN I'm just left with a feeling after all the games going "oh that's it?". Almost all the Capcom games really feel like they need more fluff.
Still mad the English dub changed "Irregular Hunter" to "Purification Unit". It was a cool callback, Volnutt literally had the same job as X on Elysium.
It bugs me that the English release changed Volnutt's first name from Rock to Megaman, too. Kills the impact of the Megaman Trigger name twist when he's called Megaman the whole game.
Robotics were completely forgotten by the time Cain unearthed X and reintroduced them. X doesn't really look like Megaman regardless anyway apart from the armor design vaguely resembling him.
Like others have said, it doesn't sell as well as their other IP's so they don't allocate any resources. There also isn't anyone within Capcom with enough legacy to champion the franchise.
I also think it has the same problem Castlevania ran into. Everyone went 3D so they did as well but they weren't as big a hits as the likes of Mario or Zelda so they downsized the franchise, experimented a bit, and eventually just pulled the plug.
Not sure. Can't find any reliable info on Castlevania sales. All I know is the reboot LoS was the best selling which I think isn't surprising in the same way MM11 sold the best. Legacy franchise+bigger user base than before, hasn't had a new entry making people curious, etc. I doubt the sequel sold as well which would explain why Konami pulled the plug afterwards.
Mega Man Legends 3 would print money, if nothing else for the meme value associated with it, and they could put all of their Lost Planet guys on it and make it metroid Lost Planet but blue boy and it'd make mainstream press.
Or just make yet another spinoff to gauge interest. Tron is enough of a character outside of Mega Man to carry a Misadventures 2.
I still argue the only reason Legends wasn't a big seller was the god awful cover art that makes it look like some shovelware knockoff of Mega Man. The games should've sold better for what they are.
We've already established that Inafune was the one actively pushing Capcom to make Rockman.
Nobody at that homosexual company wants to be that guy who suggests to stop making monsterslop in favor of any other IP.
Compared to the rest of the "big four", he never made it big. Probably because kids and newcomers have a hard time getting into the series with the classic series being inaccessible with it's difficulty and blancing, and a confusing-ass convoluted timeline that's overly complicated for a kids mascot.
because

Sonic's problem is a little different than Megaman's. Capcom just won't do anything with their mascot, while Sega will do anything BUT what fans want. Capcom has internal devs who know how to make a good game but won't set them down with it to work on. Sonic doesn't, and refuses to hire studios who clearly do.
Because despite having a dedicated fanbase, his games never sold that well.
They were always acceptable for a AA game. We aren't asking for Square Enix funding.
they sold incredible well, just not RE numbers.
And bold words considering how few are available for sale that aren't just emulators.
Any other spiritual successors I should know about bros? I've heard Gravity Circuit is somewhat Megaman X inspired
azure striker gunvolt was made by the devs that made the zero series
ASG doesn't play anywhere remotely close in the same stroke, plus the visual-novel story can be offputting
it's ok to let heroes die, zoomzoom.
Don't worry, mega man drops january 7th
I was never book smart
I'm money smart
MAKES ME MORE INTELLIGENT
Why does capcom releasing literally 150 mega man games make you think they hate the series?
They made like a billion games already, do you really want more?
Yes. It's not like you're gonna play a megaman game for weeks or months, they're pretty quick to play through. Unless its an RPG.
Because megaman games don't sell millions of copies.
I hate THAT Mega Man. Nintendo looked at 8-bit Mega's nonplussed expression and thought that's what people want to see so now we have this unexpressive doll-like Mega Man who can only make 😐 and :O faces.
Megaman 8 was his peak in terms of design, but since people saddly reject Megaman 8 and Rockman and Forte, Megaman returns to the old crappy one.
ok moron here, im not *that* big into megaman (because i suck) but why does everyone use rockman & forte for that specific game but use megaman for everything else?
It was not localized so the jp name stuck
it was localized on the gba
Years later yes, my explanation is still true
Nobody plays that version, they play the SFC version, which is Rockman & Forte
The GBA version is genuinely terrible, and is the go-to example of screen crunch fricking up SNES ports to the GBA.
it sounds cooler anyway
The vastly superior Super Famicom version was Japan exclusive.
Also, MN3 sexo
X is specifically what I am referring to, but also stuff like Battle Network 4. Which is funny because 5 and 6 are good, 6 especially is excellent. And yeah they were cooking when they made Dynatron.
>god-tier design
>stuck in a dogshit game
It sucks bros...
>shitskin
>god tier
moron...
>shitskin
Trying too hard to fit in. 2D brown was always good.
that's not brown, it's a disgusting vomit like color.
First of all MN9 isn't even THAT bad. And secondly she's also in Mighty Gunvolt Burst, a genuinely great classic style Mega Man clone, also Call E is playable there too.
> The Z-Knuckle is proof of this;
You take that back, at LEAST half of the weapons are a ton of fun.
Hell, even if there were only a subset of "designated enemies" you could steal powers from, that would be better then "Here's 10 seconds where you walk 0.00001% faster."
>First of all MN9 isn't even THAT bad.
It was bad enough that it will never ever be revisited, and that's all it takes, really.
OK gay. Keep digging.
>modeling boobs on a character that you'll never see outside of specific debug mode situations like this
Well, they did one thing right, at least.
>Mighty Gunvolt Burst, a genuinely great classic style Mega Man clone
never seen this until now, is the switch version better?
Nothing wrong with the Switch version, make sure to download the demo and play that as Ekoro, then you can transfer the demo's save file to the full game and unlock her there without paying for her DLC. She's part of the base game by default on the later PC and PS4 ports.
>is the switch version better?
Why would it be? We're no longer in the days of console vs. DS where we call completely different games the same name.
my mistake its on PC as well ill just get it there lol
oh yeah that's right comcept is owned by level 5 now
Eh, it's not that nad honestly. Definitely wasn't worth the wait but in a vacuum it's serviceable. The characters look good too, Dynatron and Ray especially. Beck sucks though.
Same flavor of geek that wanted a Zelda timeline.
MM8's sprite is garbage. I hate his wobbly walk cycle so damn much.
he grits his teeth in plenty of animations, and he gives a warm smile very rarely
Good, Classic MM's faces completely ruin all designs.
There are enough Mega Man games to last you a lifetime.
You have to let go.
Yeah, enough Megaman games to make up for a total of 32 hours of gameplay maybe.
You'll be fine with Megaman.
>Battle Network
I'm talking about Megaman. Don't split hairs.
>I'm talking about Megaman. Don't split hairs.
Discuss who’s the most mismanaged
Duke, Frogger and Bomberman at this point are the most mismanaged, Frogger throughout the years had more design changes than Sonic.
Klonoa had way more potential than what he came to be. Pacman is actually fine considering he could have just died as an Atari relic instead
As the community is alive…
We will remain strong whether or not Capcom cares
Cool glasses Ken
Okay, that's a funny double reference for Ken.
Fan Artists continue to be based
Few communities compare when it comes to quality fan art.
He doesn't make money. Why would they care?
The only Mega Man Capcom truly hates is Legends.
He had his time in the sun not all series should go forever
Capcom would literally toss one of their fighting games in the garbage for not selling 5 million units in a week. The blue bomber is lucky to hit over 1 million units sold.
Fighting games are way more expensive to make

Personally, I'm glad people are starting to forget about that garbage phone game.
is this shit good
It's "Good".
forced good
It has a lot of things going for it, but if you find even a single problem with it, that problem is going to haunt you because it's kind of the same few gimmicks recycled over and over again.
It does they're not much better
It's rougeshite so no.
I just want him off the moon.
remember, it's your fault
That level of incompetence doesn't seem natural.
don't forget to CONNECT WALLET
Well yeah... that's for NFTs. It's not a game
not difference in capcom's eyes

>buh buh buh gaming icon
Doesn't matter, boomer. It doesn't sells.
>Because Megaman doesn't sell.
That's wrong though.
Adulthood is realizing that contrary to what smash bros has taught you Mega man was never Capcoms mascot. Ryu is
The only reason zoomies think mega man is some kind of huge gaming mascot/icon is because of the Smash 4 trailers
Xcels kneel to Classic chads

In short.
Americans are moronic.
>Americans
>He lacks the critical information
lol....
What is it?
He's a shitposter with no argument baiting for (you)s.
Capcom is on record for deceiving people by being vague about what generation monster hunter games are because they think that people are scared of numbers.
Which unironically led to people getting spoiled on ace attorney games because they played them out of order.
Same goes for layton games, even though its not capcom.
No one has ever said this, especially not about games like Mega Man where the story is inconsequential at best. Take your meds, schizo
>He lacks the critical information
I hate people that want megaman x to connect with the zero series
Me too, it's a literal dead end.
megaman to X would be kino though
I wanna see Protoman's nuke detonate
I genuinely can't see X sacrificing his body as a Jesus Christ allegory the way MMZ wants him to.
A zero series prequel game could be interesting
The series is shotacon coded and their afraid of the backlash they would get if they released it in the west.
You are mentally ill coded

My guess it's his favorites robot masters from each game.
Would you care to elaborate why you made this?
I think this is some kind of IQ test where you need to find the pattern
favorite robot master from each game?
what is bottom right from?
Coin Woman from Pachislot Rockman Ability
So she's a prostitute?
gold digger, to be exact
There's nothing you can do with Megaman that hasn't been done. If you deviate too much it just stops being megaman. At least there's a bunch of fangames in development and coming out all the time. I'm happy.
Metroidvania.
ZX
A better one.
ZX Advent then.
I'll accept that answer, but I am not happy.
Legends is kind of tedious
>Don't miss that misshapen texture on the wall to the left along an alcove or you'll miss out on one of the best weapons in the game and you'll never know you did it!
In 2D it makes sense because you can just powerbomb everything until you find the secrets.
It's really no one's fault you chose not to explore and examine your environment. Weapon parts are rewards for the attentive.
That would be sick if we got him in fortnite
I don't know how I feel about that. It would make him higher profile with zoomers, but on the bad side, it would make him higher profile with zoomers.
They already put him in minecraft and nobody cared.
They did?
yes there was a MMX minecraft crossover on consoles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODPTi1fJgxI
What a coincidence, I always wore a Vile skin in Minecraft.
buggiest shit that ever got made
everyone was like "whoa this is cool" for like five seconds then they actually tried to play it
yeah the super janky dash and minecraft's own physics got in the way, they didn't really try to make the game feel good. they tried a lot harder with the sonic crossover
Why don't they make a megaman that plays like metroid prime?
They almost did. And it looked like complete shit.
It was made by ex-Prime devs but it looked more like generic console FPS slop than Metroid Prime inspired.
Why?
It is really hard to respect edgy cartoon reboots. Even if X was already edgey. Also he looks evil.
Why not give him a face
Edgy mega man isn't a bad idea, look how many people are fans of the fan works that are just edgy mega man like Megas or Protomen.
But why did it have to look so damn ugly?
He has a face, he’s just wearing a visor. You can see his eyes and mouth if you look closely enough.
It looks nothing like Megaman. It's like an unironic "Americanized Kirby" meme that make him an edgelord. Go ahead and make the game, but don't call it "Megaman." This isn't Megaman.
Or maybe more accurately, like the time they tried to make Bomberman "serious business"
Because it was going to be a reboot of the X series, that doesn't fit X at all right down to his character.
What were they thinking
>Maverick Hunter would have been a trilogy that'd end with Zero killing X
As if the Zero series wasn't obvious enough about who Inafune preferred (y'know, considering he pretty much designed Zero before X)
Does legends just not count or something?
I think something more along the lines of Ratchet and Clank would play better to the usual Mega Man trappings.
Contra is better and they got like 10 games max and half of them suck
Megaman fans you are extremely lucky and should be content
Contra is a completely different beast, I don't know why you have to make it a competition. I want more Contra AND more Megaman.
honestly we give capcom crap but they could be much, much worse
they could be Konami
or Sega
Yamato Man Stage theme
Because its too boring to work on.
"Please make exactly the same game again"
Its why X was exciting for a bit until they had to make ten of them.
It doesn't have to be Inti.
>And honestly a fair amount of Mega Man fans have a hate boner for them as well
Highly doubt that, MM9 is well beloved.
Yeah 9. The Zero series and ZX series in general get more flak usually in comparison.
>Taisen is still in development
I hope it plays well
X dive global is taisen
Proof?
I made it up!
is it?
Is what this guy says true? Is Goku telling the truth
How come nobody theories that X is literally just Rock? An upgraded Rock but still Rock. Why do people assume these are two different characters?
Daddy inafune said that's not so
He ain’t with Capcom anymore so his word means nothing. Some new guy can come in and say they’re the same person just like that.
Because it says in the opening to X1 that he's clearly not Megaman.
They can always just retcon it.
Why in the ever loving frick would they throw out X's entire character and everything they built up for it, just to retcon him into being Megaman?
Reminds me of the old theories about X being Volnutt.
Yeah this is really dumb too. And-
>Roll named him based on her favorite TV show
Wouldn't Roll be like 2 when this happens?
Really? That's dumb, I didn't know that. At the very least they could have called him a Maverick Hunter
edgy boyz
You forgot to add Protoman.exe and Bass.exe
more edgy boyz
this is tracy, roll's sister, say something nice about her
better question, how come no one ever said anything like "hey x, you kinda look like this kid from 1XX years in the past"
Robotics were completely forgotten by the time Cain unearthed X and reintroduced them. X doesn't really look like Megaman regardless anyway apart from the armor design vaguely resembling him.
Different body, same mind. OG Rock’s body was destroyed but his AI survived. Light builds him a new body and Rock is reborn as X.
That is not what happened.
Like others have said, it doesn't sell as well as their other IP's so they don't allocate any resources. There also isn't anyone within Capcom with enough legacy to champion the franchise.
I also think it has the same problem Castlevania ran into. Everyone went 3D so they did as well but they weren't as big a hits as the likes of Mario or Zelda so they downsized the franchise, experimented a bit, and eventually just pulled the plug.
it's funny you say this because Legacy of Darkness did super well, didn't it?
Mega Man was inspired by Astro Boy and Casshern. Just make a Mega Man inspired by Pluto and Casshern Sins.
Mega Man Legends 3 would print money, if nothing else for the meme value associated with it, and they could put all of their Lost Planet guys on it and make it metroid Lost Planet but blue boy and it'd make mainstream press.
Or just make yet another spinoff to gauge interest. Tron is enough of a character outside of Mega Man to carry a Misadventures 2.
>meme value
Where
Mostly at the expense of Inafune
I still argue the only reason Legends wasn't a big seller was the god awful cover art that makes it look like some shovelware knockoff of Mega Man. The games should've sold better for what they are.
Unironically you're fricking right. He looks like a Reboot character and I mean that in the worst way possible.
Capcom is gay now
literally
They're just mocking us, and to be fair, if I were some nip and wanted to advertise to the fake and gay west, I'd do the same thing.
when was the last time Capcom put out a new game that was actually good?
We've already established that Inafune was the one actively pushing Capcom to make Rockman.
Nobody at that homosexual company wants to be that guy who suggests to stop making monsterslop in favor of any other IP.
Compared to the rest of the "big four", he never made it big. Probably because kids and newcomers have a hard time getting into the series with the classic series being inaccessible with it's difficulty and blancing, and a confusing-ass convoluted timeline that's overly complicated for a kids mascot.
We just got a Battle Network collection. Capcom doesn't hate Mega Man
It's a fricking collection, not a new game.
you sure?
it's weird but awakened zero doesn't even use his buster in the actual game
Cataclysm theory is metal as frick and Inafune is a hack
iCO > RiCO
X Dive -> Dumpster.
I will not do ze dailies.
No dailies in offline
should I get the offline
Only get it if you are/were obsessed with the game, otherwise you will not like it
There's a demo, if it doesn't make you puke much then wait for a sale.
Pachislot Rockman Ability
Why don't you? Why didn't you buy their games?
