I'm surprised you think so. Personally, I'm not good at video games. I found them to be a fair challenge. Some took me 5 attempts, others maybe 20. Items add a new layer to how you approach bosses too. After 1.5 play-throughs I realized you could attach ice to you magic wand. god damn it was a good game. Dying on the secret menu zone also fricked my mind up
I played the remake but I want to play the original too, but with the online being dead it’s literally impossible to get certain items now

Plus 2011 being the last year before real poz began to set in makes the original ds that much more special

you can stunlock bosses with the greataxe though and greataxe jump attacks make regular enemies trivial in dark souls 1 as well.
big weapons hit hard and are slower, they might not have more dps overall but they make up for it by damaging poise and stability a ridiculous amount
