I don't remember having any hand issue, maybe light if the light the fight dragged too much but not to the point of bricking. But like I said, that was only for 1 guy thanks to Olga and i think there was another gold keypages from general receptions, and brace up of course.

If you have the keypage ability that draws one on a discard it cancels out every "discard 1" downside. That alone makes it fairly easy to build a somewhat decent discard deck.
Use this guide. It's all about the passives and discard pages like Stay Calm (early on) and Switcheroo (later on). The tl;dr is >draw one card on turn start >draw one card from Margin >draw one card from Bottom Deal
You will always have AT LEAST three cards in your hand at all times. Your hand will increase in size from 3-6 depending on how many "draw a card on discard" cards you had in your hand last turn - since you'll have three or more that means you'll probably have at least one in your hand in any given deck.
You'll also heal 3 HP for each card discarded and restore 2 light every turn thanks to other passives that trigger on discard.
Honestly my discard deck in Ruina always felt like it was doing well. At first with Olga it sucked since there wasn't much support. However, when you get the big players like Hanafuda, Olivier, and Irina's deck, it becomes very easy for that deck to cap out on draw and Light. I almost always had Final Stroke or Impugnatio Ultima in my hand at some point.
Never really understood why the /vg/ in Ganker start scurrying like ants whenever a thread reaches 500 posts and unironically start caring about shit like LAST POST FOR [GIRL] and 4posting, 80% of Limbus threads end in this ritual

The anachronism is probably intentional.
Remember that the Head enforces arbitrary rules for unknown reasons. If the Head decides that something isn't kosher then it gets wiped out of existence and everybody who has knowledge of it gets ganked by Claws. realistically the guidelines would be about a specific thickness of steel. otherwise they can say all bullets would penetrate a 3 atom thick steel sheet and ban all guns.

You're not manufacturing it, so the only thing you need to worry about are the Firearm Guidelines that apply to all guns, and having to pay the Firearm tax in (hopefully) a year. But you can tank two strikes, so the tax isn't as big of an issue.

Making appropriate ammo creation mechanic seems as impossible as making appropriate discard mechanic in Limbus. In many ways Limbus is quite a letdown.
Ammo mechanic was kino actually. It wasn't "limited supply of ammo," it was "reloading in the middle of a battle is complicated"
But it is a limited Supply of Ammo even with Thumb. Every other page in LoR has a limited supply of ammo in that they Exhaust Gun Pages on use, except for Thumb because they can create their own ammo. Ammo creation is stylised with ammo reloading, but Thumbs Guns still are created with bayonets and sturdy butt to engage in melee precisely if they don't have ammo left.

because the entire deck's plan is you draw a bunch of useless shit to discard so you just keep getting smaller and smaller hands making you gas out super fast
If you have the keypage ability that draws one on a discard it cancels out every "discard 1" downside. That alone makes it fairly easy to build a somewhat decent discard deck.
You are supposed to use the passives that makes you draw and if you use brace up, you draw more cards on top of that.
What on earth are you talking about, a properly built Discard deck always has at least 4-5 cards in hand at all times.

Use this guide. It's all about the passives and discard pages like Stay Calm (early on) and Switcheroo (later on). The tl;dr is

You will always have AT LEAST three cards in your hand at all times. Your hand will increase in size from 3-6 depending on how many "draw a card on discard" cards you had in your hand last turn - since you'll have three or more that means you'll probably have at least one in your hand in any given deck.
You'll also heal 3 HP for each card discarded and restore 2 light every turn thanks to other passives that trigger on discard.

Honestly my discard deck in Ruina always felt like it was doing well. At first with Olga it sucked since there wasn't much support. However, when you get the big players like Hanafuda, Olivier, and Irina's deck, it becomes very easy for that deck to cap out on draw and Light. I almost always had Final Stroke or Impugnatio Ultima in my hand at some point.

A .556 rifle should be fine then, considering it can't penetrate steel plates in real life. Sawing off the barrel to be safe you could use it up until you're required to pay taxes. You'd still get a strike, but you practically need a gun if you're going to survive a year.
realistically the guidelines would be about a specific thickness of steel. otherwise they can say all bullets would penetrate a 3 atom thick steel sheet and ban all guns.

Poise is currently only bad because the IDs using it can't keep count, so it all vanishes every turn. Sunshower actually gives you count and a consistent supply of potency

Every other page in LoR has a limited supply of ammo in that they Exhaust Gun Pages on use, except for Thumb because they can create their own ammo. Ammo creation is stylised with ammo reloading, but Thumbs Guns still are created with bayonets and sturdy butt to engage in melee precisely if they don't have ammo left.
