Why does kirby tend to have better anniversaries than most series, like even mario and sonic recently?

Because the guy currently in charge of Kirby is essentially an official fanfic author.

HAL Laboratory is a studio dedicated to Kirby.
Nintendo EAD works on 50 different games, they don't have time for anniversaries.
Sega just doesn't give a shit.
The concept of anniversary for a video game is fricking stupid anyways.

They seem to have boxboy now but that doesn’t seem as big as kirby, but its still nice to se hall expanding their horizons

When? Didn’t hal just make a game for it in 2019?

Oh then I just assumed since I thought the last game was literally called goodbye boxboy

Not that anon but did pick up the game a few days ago since I played boxboy on 3ds. Pretty fun puzzle game if you're into that sort of stuff

Sega gives a shit in the worst ways
They just pushed out sonic origins unfinished and buggy just so it could coincide with sonic´s birthday, they are fricking morons

It's weird to think about how HAL is the one developer company that consistently demonstrates how much they love their own IP compared to other companies like Sonic Team who have no idea what to do with their own games.

Really sad to see the way sonic has gone

Because HAL and their partner teams manage to put out content at a decent pace unlike the other studios.
The other big IPs are divided between Nintendos own studios and you can only do anniversary stuff there if it doesn't collide with any other major projects.

Its been interesting seeing hal get other smaller companies like vanpool to help them, it reminds me of the flagship kirby days

This is what happens when an IP has people that really care behind it.

I wonder if we’ll end up getting a new kirby collection?
