Skyrim often leads players towards a Stealth Archer playstyle due to several factors. Firstly, the game's mechanics heavily favor stealth-based gameplay, offering bonuses for sneaking and archery. Additionally, the vast open world and diverse environments encourage players to take advantage of ranged combat, allowing for strategic positioning and long-range attacks. The satisfaction of landing precise shots from a distance also contributes to the appeal of the Stealth Archer build. Furthermore, the game's progression system rewards players with skill points and perks that enhance archery and stealth abilities, reinforcing this playstyle as an effective and enjoyable option throughout the game.

Haha, no way the internet is kaput! It's like the online universe, constantly expanding and getting weirder (in a good way). New stuff is popping up all the time, like VR and smart fridges chatting you up.

And yeah, ChatGPT might be on the scene, but it's just one player in the game. Think of it like having a bunch of new chatbots hanging out online, all with their own strengths. The internet's all about options, and this just adds to the fun!

          Anonymous

That's a great perspective on the current state of the internet. You're absolutely right that the online world is constantly evolving and expanding in new and exciting ways. The emergence of technologies like VR and smart home devices is a testament to the internet's ability to continuously innovate and offer users novel experiences.

Your analogy of ChatGPT being just one player in a larger game of chatbots and AI assistants is spot on. The internet thrives on diversity and choice, and the introduction of conversational AI like ChatGPT simply adds another dimension to the rich tapestry of online tools and platforms available to users.

Rather than seeing ChatGPT as a threat, it's best to view it as an opportunity to explore the expanding capabilities of artificial intelligence and how it can complement and enhance our online interactions and activities. The internet has always been about expanding possibilities, and ChatGPT is simply the latest development in that ongoing process of technological progress and creativity.

Embracing the "weirdness" of new internet-powered innovations, as you put it, is what keeps the online world vibrant, dynamic and endlessly fascinating. The future of the internet is sure to bring even more surprises and delights, and it's an exciting time to be a part of this ever-evolving digital landscape.

I definitely noticed that regression but had no idea about headshots, that's pretty dumb. I shouldn't be surprised especially now since that whole emil dust up resurfaced his speech where he said they basically lost all of skyrims code by the time FO4 was made, the same thing probably happened between FO3 & skyrim & they didn't bother to make it from scratch again.

Because it feels pretty good (even unmodded) and it is super effective. And it makes you feel like a stealthy archer ninja.

But I have played through the game using 2-handed weapons / sword+shield / magic user and/or a combination of everything offered in the game.

The stamina cost / amount of damage done ratio is waaaay more efficient than dual casting which will also instantly aggro everything in the vicinity. Plus to get to the point where you can dual cast without rapidly running out of mp requires a lot more setup than picking up a bow & some arrows.

I like modding it so you don’t restore magicka over time. It makes all your potions very important to have. My favorite mage to play is actually illusion mages with modded spells. It’s a lot of fun to manipulate everyone.

I've only done stealth archer like twice in Skyrim. Most of my playthroughs have switched between various builds. The game isn't particularly hard, even on Legendary, so it doesn't "force" you into a particular playstyle at all. Anyone who finds themselves always playing stealth archer in Skyrim is just a homosexual who can't stick to suboptimal gameplay for the fun of it.

    >????
    >Sneak and Archery are now at 100, you've dumped half of your perk points into them, and enemy AI is so moronic that you can permanently remain in stealth for crits
This is a slight problem with the TES "use to level" skill system, you have to fight against the current of what is obviously optimal in order to have a unique character.

      Anonymous

This. It makes sense to go stealth to scout out enemy locations so you can control the fight better, then it makes sense to pop one with a stealth crit to weaken them before the fight, except eventually they just don't detect you so you shoot again and again.

    >Archery is extremely effective in all areas of the game

    >Magic is severely under powered in this entry, and borderline worthless against late game bosses/enemies
    >ES combat in general has no depth so melee feels tedious after a while, plus being forced into focusing on smithing if you don't want to get one shot all the time.
    >Level design and damage scaling heavily favor stealth kills, especially with bows since basic daggers 6x amount does pitiful damage+ more hassle with being forced to close the distance with enemies in stealth.
It's pretty easy to see why.

I really don't get why this game was so highly praised back in the day.
    >Main story sucked, worse than any other ES
    >dungeons are extremely repetitive, some even straight up being exact copies of each other
    >Alot of the big side quests end anticlimactically, the stormcloak/imperial war quest in particular
    >guilds are a major step down from oblivion, with the only notable positives being the slightly unique take on the brotherhood lore, and the general setting of the mage guilld being interesting
    >combat gets boring after a while due to the shit leveling system. Only archer is fun
    >mage builds in general got severely gimped and nerfed from oblivion, being frustratingly hard to run near end game without mods.
    >There isn't much variety when it comes to town activities and side quests.
Only plus I can think of is the world map being fun to explore, and the soundtrack being really fricking good.

I will die on the hill that Skyrim is Bethesda's best attempt at dungeons to that date, only surpassed by Fallout 4. This is something they have only gotten better at with time, although without a strong backbone to gameplay, the dungeon experience obviously suffers. In Skyrim,
      >dungeons often have their own non-quest vignette, even if sometimes incredibly minimal
      >enemies aren't just randomly plopped around, but draugrs emerge from coffins, spiders are in webbed dens, and falmer have camps with insect livestock
      >interesting fusions of different tilesets in many dungeons, i.e. they got a lot of mileage out of limited assets
      >whether you can accept it or not, the enemy variety is also on par with the previous games as well

        Anonymous

The dungeons are all linear as frick. Literally just hallways with enemies coming out of the walls. That's not good dungeon design at all.
Morrowind had the best dungeon design because its dungeons were designed as actual places, not completely linear but also not procedural generated like in Daggerfall. There were numerous rooms and side corridors to explore and if you had to go into a dungeon for a quest, the quest item wouldn't be on a pedestal in the final room but instead stashed in one of the side rooms like you would expect an item in real life to be placed. Sure, Skyrim may have better graphics and animations but those things aren't as important as the actual level layout when it comes to dungeon design.

Skyrim was the first open-world game and RPG for a lot of normies, so in in their mind that means it was the best open-world game and RPG they have ever played. That's all there is to it. It's just a bunch of people who have only played CoD trying out a "le nerdy" game for the first time and being shocked that games could have more than just straight corridors that you shoot your gun down. And they haven't touched many other open-world or RPG games since then so they couldn't even possibly know that Skyrim is actually a mediocre open-world RPG.

i've never understood this meme. pure melee will always be the obvious playstyle for those who just pick up the game and play. if you go in with stealth archer you have to sneak, be careful and line up shots, and once you're discovered it's annoying to get the stealth back. but with melee you just charge right in and bonk them with big weapons. melee is faster and easier just like every other game.

i would argue heavy armor + two handed is what the game naturally "brings" you toward, if anything can be said to do that.
