So in the interest of discussion, can we talk about how all of this is this b***h's fault?
From what we've seen and what's been implied, I think that Ashley mostly ended up this way because of her mom. We know she didn't really celebrate her daughter's birthday, but she did celebrate her son's. She even mentions that Andy was an easy child which is why she had the second one, and when Leyley was a handful she foisted responsibility onto Andy to look after her.
We also know that Ashley didn't really get along with anyone, but she and Andy had a great relationship that turned extremely clingy basically from the start.
I think Ashley turned yandere for Andrew entirely because she felt he was the only one that cared about her. Which is why she gets jealous any time he spends time around other women and why she'd do anything to keep him around.
All because her mom's a moron that didn't hug her daughter enough. Just think how many less people would be dead right now if she actually bothered buying her a birthday cake once a year.
Then again, Ashley wouldn't be nearly as hot if she raised her better, so you know.
Adding on to this actually, I'm gonna predict where things go in the next episodes.
I think the final ending is going to be about whether the demon possesses Andrew at the end or not. The mark on his hand and it's interest in him makes me think that's its goal, and the bonding between Ashley and Andrew is going to decide how much she cares about him at the end. Like -actually- cares about him as a person, as opposed to him as an object for her to own. Bad end will be if she doesn't, and lets the demon possess him so that "he" will do whatever she says and belong to her (whether he likes it or not). Good end will be if she cares enough to stop the demon, because she loves Andrew as a person and wants the real him to care about her as opposed to wanting to possess him as an obediant object that cares because he's forced to.
That's probably accurate but i think it would be interesting if andrew got the final choice somehow. Ashley is fricked up but it's overt whereas everything with andrew is subtle and unlike ashley he has much more control over his sociopathy and so it would be cool to see him confront and decide

From what we've seen and what's been implied, I think that Ashley mostly ended up this way because of her mom. We know she didn't really celebrate her daughter's birthday, but she did celebrate her son's. She even mentions that Andy was an easy child which is why she had the second one, and when Leyley was a handful she foisted responsibility onto Andy to look after her.
We also know that Ashley didn't really get along with anyone, but she and Andy had a great relationship that turned extremely clingy basically from the start.
I think Ashley turned yandere for Andrew entirely because she felt he was the only one that cared about her. Which is why she gets jealous any time he spends time around other women and why she'd do anything to keep him around.
All because her mom's a moron that didn't hug her daughter enough. Just think how many less people would be dead right now if she actually bothered buying her a birthday cake once a year.
Then again, Ashley wouldn't be nearly as hot if she raised her better, so you know.

Adding on to this actually, I'm gonna predict where things go in the next episodes.
I think the final ending is going to be about whether the demon possesses Andrew at the end or not. The mark on his hand and it's interest in him makes me think that's its goal, and the bonding between Ashley and Andrew is going to decide how much she cares about him at the end. Like -actually- cares about him as a person, as opposed to him as an object for her to own. Bad end will be if she doesn't, and lets the demon possess him so that "he" will do whatever she says and belong to her (whether he likes it or not). Good end will be if she cares enough to stop the demon, because she loves Andrew as a person and wants the real him to care about her as opposed to wanting to possess him as an obediant object that cares because he's forced to.
Reminder that when asked on Steam about if and how the stars will affect the story Nemlei only said "Mayhaps."
And the only other time she used that word in a statement was right after the incest route of Burial.

I hate that the reason I know this all makes sense is that my sister is a far less edgy and crazy version of Ashley who had the same issues of not being as wanted as much as I was because of how difficult she was to deal with compared to me. All media have a habit of hitting close to home for someone, especially stories that have a tragic element to them. Personally I like stories that hit me directly in the feels like that, feels like a way to get some sort of catharsis or feel like I'm not the only one in the world with that kind of problem. But then, hitting too close to home can be a turn off for media too, so I get what you mean.

Also Mrs Graves has no reaction if you have Ashley choose to cut her to get blood for the ritual. However if Ashley cuts Mr Graves, Mrs Graves freaks out and yells at Ashley.
Ashley was born the same as her mother but did not have supportive parents, so she fully develops into a textbook sociopath and latches onto Andrew the only positive thing in her life. She would've baby trapped him years ago if she thought she could actually convince him to go full incest fugging.
If Ashley/Andrew have any kids then Ashley is going to treat them the exact same as Mrs Graves treated her. Their only hope is to either be born normal or that Andrew cares for them, but there would be a real genuine risk of Ashley just killing and eating her kids if they took too much of Andrew's attention so the kids are likely doomed anyway.

Because the main sticking point here is that in Burial Ashley tells the demon to not take Andrew's soul it's "hers". While in the other Ashley outright question whether she still needs him as a snide remark. This makes me think that claiming Andrew's soul is tbe real request Ashley gave the demon. He didn't just recharge the talisman, he probably interpeted and granted Ashley's offhand comment as an actual request.
And now the demon mark in Burial is a tacit connection between them.
