It's going to be 30fps in the switch version and 60fps in the switch 2 version. Expect a lot of late switch games to get upgrade patches for switch 2.
This game is still fine to play and looks great, why does it need a remaster?
There are portions of it worth remaking (the slogs that the later chapters become/how most chapters suck on replays) but I know they won't have the balls to do so.

I'm happy that it's coming out soon enough and I'd like to see what they added. Though I'm probably going to wait to see more rather than just preordering it and buying it, I've already played the first two games plenty of times and would like to see if there's a proper reason to pick it up that isn't related to "showing Nintendo what fans want." In particular the purple toad is still a big question mark, the possibility of adding all the 64 protagonists as cameos would be great, and some simple QoL stuff such as being able to pick up any items you will need later earlier would all be splendid, even if it's probably asking for too much from them.

It's hard to describe the moronation of that decision. Sure, the Switch may be underpowered, but it's a fricking Gamecube game. It's got stylized graphics, not photorealistic graphics. There's no excuse for 30 FPS.
Because Nintendo are homosexuals and know that people have wanted a return to Paper Mario being an RPG since SUPER and yet they are holding the series hostage by releasing a remake with the vague notion that if it is successful they will then make Paper Mario into an RPG series again. Instead of just making a new Paper Mario with original characters, fun locations, and as an RPG they're gonna make you fork over money now to tell then that is what you really want even though the entire fanbase has been screaming at them that everything after TTYD has been disappointing (Super) to Bad (Sticker Star, Color Splash) to Meh (Origami King).

There is no reason TTYD hasn’t been ported to the eshop for $10-20 besides corporate greed and consumer stupidity. It worked fine on the Wii for games that, at the time, were far younger than TTYD is now. This remake isn’t even a win for game preservation because it could very well mean that the original is never ported.
I’m mainly pissy at the frame reduction. TTYD feels smooth as frick compared to 64 and that will be gone. Give it a 60 FPS patch on Switch 2 and I’ll be happy.
