Actually, the original Typhlosion is back to being better as of SV because it has Scorching Sands, whereas Hisuian Typhlosion literally only has Eruption and Infernal Parade.
None of the Pokemon with variants are popular enough to be shillmons. All the actual shillmons got mega evolutions. All a variant says is that they don't care about the original anymore. Alolan Ninetales exists so now regular Ninetales won't be promoted anymore.
