I don't think the other two progress and finish in such a satisfying way. a bulb implies blooming, but there isn't as much of a direct visual arc with charmander leading to charizards two horns and wings or squirtle going to blastoises cannons. the venasaur line also doesn't lose anything like warturtles ears.
