this one is fricking SHIT, it has no replayability, it's a cookie clicker, the series doesn;t even start until Diablo 2, and 3 is arguably an improvement. and Diablo 4 is easily the best one. frick microtrans
1, 2 and 3 are all good for different reasons.
Says a lot about 4 that it's nearly impossible to keep a thread up two weeks after launch and most of them talk about the other games.
I wish they would release a Diablo structured like the first again, if not a remake. Just one giant dungeon that gets more fricked up as you get lower. I liked that you could reset the game and bring the old character back in if you felt the need to reset. A small game that isn't meant to be infinitely replayable has merit. But Blizzard wants to charge $70 plus tip and it couldn't be justified for a D1 remake.
no blizzard wants you paying them monthly/regularly and subscribing to the game basically and becoming a fanatic of it.
think about this Diablo 3 and Overwatch sold 30+ million copies and blizzard doesn't even consider those games successes because they didn't generate infinite profit.
I'd argue it went more sideways with 2, more developed but less atmospheric and then it took a deep dive with 3 and fell off a cliff with 4 (it was already off the cliff with immortal)
These games have always been aggressively monotonous and repetitive. When I played this as probably an 8 year old kid I already realized this is a game for babies. It's the RPG for people who have <80 IQ.
As a father, there's very little time for gaming. I have a lot of responsibilities, that you probably can't understand.
I get my "gaming" time in every night before bed, I've been playing original diablo for approximately two seconds every night for the last 20 years. I'm level 3 on floor 4.
Try to consider the "regular" gamers when you complain about endgame content. Blizzard is a great company.
at first i thought diablo 4 was much better than diablo 3 but to be honest i grew tired and bored of 4 way faster than 3, none of the classe in 4 feel good to play
You know, I'm surprised we don't have a Final Fantasy version of Diablo yet. I'm pretty damn sure it'd go fricking hard. Base it in Ivalice, Make your character have the ability to change up to three classes in each category, Add in Arithmetic magic, and watch the money flow in. Don't act like you wouldn't.
>1 is a dungeon crawler >2 a stunted imbalanced loot grinder >3 is everything wrong with 2 multiplied >4 feels good to play but misses the point 1 and 2

weak bait
He's right, though
>going down hill
>first game has the worst gameplay

We're all too busy playing and having a great time
Uh huh. I'm sure.
>t. father of 4 who hasn't finished the game yet
>No hatethreads
Seems like a good thing to me
Hatethreads mean people have an opinion.
And?
The good threads are at /vg/ because Ganker is obsessed with trans people, israelites and nazis.
Different devs each game
They cracked the pattern of the brainless fun of the mouse click. So they didn't have to make some effort. Just more maps and monsters

Dunno how Vicarious Visions was able to get away with making D2R have an offline mode and no MTX.
Blizzard was fricked by reforged shit
Yeah, but they kept all their other products since online-only.
diablo and diablo likes/arpgs/smash n grabs (whatever you call the genre) is just fundamentally flawed.
they really aren't games, more like addiction simulators. I'm surprised blizzard didn't make a diablo gacha that would probably be more successful
I'd argue it went more sideways with 2, more developed but less atmospheric and then it took a deep dive with 3 and fell off a cliff with 4 (it was already off the cliff with immortal)
It went from slow and immersive to fast loot simulator for constant dopamine hits

They nerfed all the fun class mobility. Stutter stop attacking feels like shit.
I sense a soul in search of answers.
it stopped being diablo and started being a genre

does it still hold up?
