Honestly I dont care but it's been like that for so long that I barely remember the board without its resident autists. What matters to me is that I played it and I really enjoyed it. There's clear room for improvement too which makes me hopeful if they decide to continue with the same general combat.

That's what happened to FF15. Had an abysmal release and was a complete dogshit game and then it came out on PC and all people remember is the Royal Edition. Now I see it praised on this board all the time in FF threads. I find it so crazy to think about as someone that played release FF15. It's like being told my memories aren't real when I try to talk about this game as if that version of the game doesn't exist.

You havent heard anything but praise because usually said "praise" is coming from people who 1. Dont play many games 2. Are YoshiP/FFXIV cultists. Pretty much everyone that i have talked to has the exact same problem with the game, it was yet another flavor of the month kind of release that is already dying down because there is quite literally nothing to actually "talk" about from an experience that is just generally very formulaic and safe, its not a bad game by any means, but its so boring and safe that discussion around it is pratically impossible, there's nothing really cool to discover, nothing really cool to talk about in terms of lore, because the game pretty much spoonfeeds everything to you, no reward or input from the player whatsoever.
FFXVI is quite literally a game no one will talk about in a few years, because there really is nothing to unpack here, its quite literally something alot of people will play once and not comeback to it.
