Why hasn't anyone made a serial killer game?

Ive wanted a game like this for a long time and I think it would be a HUGE money maker and the technology is there right now to make it great.
Have a game, name it something like Killer. Its an open world game where you explore a city and surrounding as a serial killer. You can choose a different type of killer and unlock different skills, for example, you can be a killer who murders his victims using brute force (high strength, dexterity), you can be a killer who lures his victims away to kill them (high charisma) or a mix in between.
Every mission in the city you will get a possible victim matked on your map and then you get to choose how to catch them and murder them. There can be a meter where the more kills you make, the closer the police are to finding you.
For example, after every murder, you have to clean up the crime scene but the game won't tell you if you cleaned everything up. Like, if you have blood stains, you will need to make sure that you bought bleach from the in game shop to clean it up.
There will be a stealth element too, you need to consider if others can hear or see you committ the murder or dispose of the body. As you get more kills, you unlock more abilities, lets say in the beginning mission, you need to get rid of a body but your only option would be to stow it away. After leveling up, you could pick the ability to saw bodies apart and then you only need to get rid of the body parts.
I think this would be a HUGE money maker like the GTA games and I am puzzled no one has made a game like this yet.

Probably because companies would get in hot water for it. Rockstar has Manhunt where you're hunting down killers but news orgs and people still got upset because of how gruesome it was.

Because most of these games would either be homophobic as Dahmer/Gacy or mysogynistic like Ted Bundy.

indeed, OP needs no meds though. those are for curable disease. OP needs ice baths and electroshocks.

Wrong. There's a decent amount of women who enjoy Dead by Daylight, a game where you play as and get chased by a serial killer.

And when the first subhuman reject gets his validation from the game and goes on a spree, you and your company would be neck-deep in a world of shit.

At most, the game would just get banned from certain countries.

I can imagine the conversations people could have while playing a game like this.

User 1 :"Hey guys, I've been stuck on Mission 3. I've tracked down the girl to her apartment and can get it in there without neighbors seeing me, I'm using a high strength build so I have to break in instead of using charm to get her to let me in. I usually manage to choke her out before she makes any noise but I'm stuck at getting rid of the body. My dismemberment skill is leveled up but I don't know where to get more bleach. I've bought one at the store but can't buy more"
User 2 : "Look around her apartment, you may find more bleach there by the bathtub if you dismember her there".

Doesn't Hitman kind of fulfill this niche, except with a closed world? You have to murder several targets over the course of a campaign, with the exact method of killing being largely up to your discretion within the bounds of the respective level. The newest game ups the ante with Escalation Contracts and story-mission Challenges encouraging creative executions.

It feels like the only thing 'I want a serial killer game' people aren't getting from Hitman or Manhunt or even Hatred is some grotesque ritualistic dismemberment they get to partake in or raping a woman to death gameplay. And good fricking luck with either of those.

Somebody like Agent 47 isn't ever going to kidnap and rapemurder an assassination target in his mobile rapemobile, followed by sneaking back to leave her dismembered breasts and nothing else hanging from a church door as the legendary tittyknocker killer.

        Anonymous

You just lack imagination. Setting aside the moral issues, gameplay of picking targets based on your character’s preferences, stalking them and planning your kill, maybe building a kill dungeon and kidnapping your marks, taking trophies, dealing with insanity progression, and like half the game can be avoiding/fighting the police or even playing as the police. If it’s ok for movies to portray it I really don’t see the problem with video games doing it.

I'm pretty sure this would have been way too edgy even for the early vidya age of the 90's-2000's where shit was very edgy. It's definitely too edgy now. The only way this would fly is if you make it as corny and over the top as possible.

Like for example with a strength build you can bust through walls and then you fight your target like it's Devil May Cry, where you have to juggle them in mid air with combos because if they land they'll start to scream and attract attention. If you fail the cops show up and you have to dodge their shots with bullet time or parry them and get away. Charisma builds could have weird Warioware style minigames to see if you convince the victims to follow you home, etc.

Not the same since actual killers have a compulsive need to keep records/trophies leading to their undoing. A serial killer would probably keep a collection of decapitated nipples in the freezer because they want to keep records of their wrongs, that would be bad for a gamer because that's the first place the cops would look.

Everything interesting about the idea you explained (having to kill a target in a unique way without being caught in the process or when leaving the crime scene) is already part of the hitman game loop series while also bypassing all the creepy serial killer wanking stuff you mentioned that only you and a few white girls would be into.

I'd want police investigations too where you needed to provide alibis. It should be like reverse Phoenix wright where you have to keep debunking their evidence to cover your tracks. Game should take place over the course of multiple days and not just a single location like hitman.

so first of all a major studio publishing a serial killer sim has never been a viable thing. manhunt 1 and 2 weren't serial killer games, the first one was a gladitorial version of a snuff film and the second was just a standard conspiracy thriller plot with extreme violence. puppet combo and probably a few other that I don't recall have made serial killer games but they're cheesy psx trash, so low fi they wouldn't tip anyone's radar.
I think you could probably fenagle it if there was some concession, it being over the top 80s slasher cheese, the killings being assassinations instead of murders, powerful targets and driven by son of sam delusions instead of a real world ideology. the game you're talking about, realistic true crime ted bundy simulator, that's not going to fly unless again it's extremely lo-fi psx trash.

Holy shit OP are you literally me?
I must've played over 400 hours in RDR2 alone trying to fulfill this fantasy. The only problem I got there is that the law enforcement is too tight, leaving you no time to properly stealth kill someone in a big city like Saint Denis. There's also not much houses you can break into, so the idea of waiting until nightfall could never be put to execution. But the rest is all there. You can kidnap and torture, there's lines that you can say for roleplaying purposes, there's weapons and plenty of gore. The only thing missing is the social aspect. If a game with all that could be made, I'd play it daily.

just because the idea makes you hard doesn’t mean it’s going to make money.
Also why is cleaning the crime scene such a big part of your idea when almost all serial killers just leave the scene with minimal cover work? Do you have any idea how much blood a person has and how long it would take to clean that up?
You’re not describing playing as a serial killer, you’re describing playing as a hitman. Everything you said is what hitmen do, so honestly just play Hitman
