People who are good at games have memorized the levels, enemy placement, boss patterns, projectile patterns, etc. But that is not my style. I react to every enemy as they appear in the moment, as if they appear for the first time. This is an imaginative roleplaying experience. It is cheating to memorize the level. It is like a movie character who is running on instinct in each scene. So it is a simulation, a test of reaction with no second chances. And my reactions aren't that good apparently. Also the rest of my brain is dedicated to imagining hypothetical scenarios such as worldbuilding, fanfiction, roleplaying campaigns, spinoffs, tie-in media, sequels remakes and other adapatations, as well as how the character feels if this scenario were to be one of those grounded and realistic moments where everything is being experienced firsthand by the character, who is not a character, but a fully conscious being, at least in another world. That's not relevant but, it does cut into my reaction time. Also I can't customize my moves according to my imagination, they're limited to the pre-programmed animations. You watch a cartoon or something and they improvise, they're always changing their movements, not limited to a set of attacks. Imagine the Zelda cartoon in VR. But even then there are programming limitations.

These games are not hard because in the end videogames are not fundamentally hard. All you are doing is scaring people off who would otherwise have fun with you.

      >videogames are not fundamentally hard
what does that even mean? Any game where you play against a human opponent is as hard as your opponent makes it, provided the skill ceiling is high enough. If you had ranked competitive tic tac toe nobody would ever get out of bronze league. The reason games with small dedicated playerbases are hard to get into is because everybody else has better game knowledge/execution than you do so you lose a lot and losing doesn't feel good. The main issue is the size of the playerbase. Kids get to try hockey/football/whatever against other 6 year olds. If you want to get into broodwar right now, you're a 6 year old playing against AAA bantam players

This is what you call "deep"?

      Anonymous

It's deep because you gotta dodge the bullets to not get one-shot (sometimes) but some games push it up a notch and force you to manipulate the bullet patterns so you don't trap yourself and can take out enough hazards/do more damage to the boss, however you also have the titular "bomb" or "special move" type of attack which is a powerful consumable with varying levels of rarity that lets you clear out a bunch of enemies, do a lot of damage to the boss, and/or even clear enemy bullets off your screen. These are just as valuable as your lives, more valuable if you're playing for score, and you'll want to find out the best places to use them. In Touhou, a lot of players don't learn the boss patterns and will spam their "spells" (special attack). If you wanna make fun of this genre in later threads, just mention that because it works really well in almost all of the Touhou games and lessens the memorization load dramatically. Of course, people beat these games without the bombs, but that's a challenge run.

Shitloads of words to try and portray basic braindead shit as deep. This is like mutts airdropping 1 day worth of meals for 2000 people into Gaza and trying to sell it off as a massive humanitarian campaign. Just raw cringe to anyone who actually bothers reading your stupid shit.

I don't think its as hard of a game as people claim it to be, getting accustomed to changing your color might be the most difficult part about it but try and fricking play Crimzon Clover World Explosion, it makes early 2hu boss patterns into hard mob patterns and goes even crazier with some of the mid bosses and bosses but they are all logical patterns unlike 2hu patterns which are zany and fricked.

You make this thread every day and you will get the same answers every day.
You should never take what someone here says at face value. For the longest time, Ganker has shown disdain towards people showing high levels of proficiency at videogames and this betrayed their behavior. Terms like tourneygay, compgay, troony speedrunner or tryhards wouldn't be popular without incompetent people popularizing them. Granted some devs are wrong trying to pander to these good players especially but posters almost always blame those players and not the devs themselves
