He isn't the only Spider-man of his universe rising to the challenge out of necessity, he's the student immediately overtaking the mentor.

The generic one-liner action hero was anything but original. I get it was a "new" IP, but it's not like they exactly reinvented the wheel. It's easily comparable to Die Hard or Commando or Rambo or anything else where muscular guys go on killing missions. It also came out around the time when 90s vampires flicks were trending. Interview with a Vampire. Buffy. Vampire in Brooklyn. And other horror themed stuff like The Craft and Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

I don't hate Miles and honestly could give less of a frick about his race but in terms of genuine criticism he is extremely boring. When he was introduced in the comics his character was literally just Peter Parker again, but black. And I'm not saying that to be racist he just had basically no character traits of his own. It's gotten slightly better but in most incarnations he's still just dull. He doesn't have a good dynamic with Peter because they're basically the same person.
The only incarnation where he's actually decent is the Spider-Verse movies probably because they gave him more of a personality, ditched the moronic SHIELD backstory for his dad and paired him up with boomer Peter Parker which provided a nice dynamic.
Oh I also forgot to add his powers are extremely overpowered and ruin tension. Basically all of his first 10 fights are just him venom blasting his enemies for an insta KO.

Introduced in Civil War he was a side character to the main plot and then his own movie was a set up the next team up movie which left him sort of without a movie of his own. Had its moments though, but lacked being its own thing. His sister is also outright annoying and a bit racist.

I've never actually seen blade in totality. I must have caught bits of pieces of it somehow, because I remember parts of it. But the memories are all vague and hazy now.
First two Blade films are GOAT capeshit movies since they are entirely self contained and don't have to be shoehorned into a cinematic universe. Trinity suffered because the studio decided it had to be PG-13 and it made Blade into a side character.
