How can someone post this as a rebuttal to someone else saying it's the same shit? Are you even looking at this picture? Are you blind? If you took out the furry mario you woudl think that the left was just another level in NSMB

They honestly think that a game has to essentially "change mediums" in order to be a different art style. >Pixel art >2.5D >Hand drawn
They don't have the cognitive ability to grasp the concept that a 2.5D game with 3D character models can have different art styles.
It's not DRASTICALLY different, Mario is still Mario, but it's a huge fricking improvement. I can finally see that some effort went into it, don't remember the last time that happened with a 2D Mario game.
I mean if you put it on a spectrum it's a lot closer to nsmb than any other entry
Looks like new spoop, especially when not in the wacky world.
You guys really somehow think this looks drastically different from NSMB? No this isn't an issue of your hype, nor how soulful you think it is, or how much you think its a breath of fresh air. Yeah it can be all of those things but still look similar to NSMB.
It really doesn't. I always liked NSMB for what it was and never understood the hate, but now this is coming out and everyone's losing their minds talking about how great it is and I don't understand that either. It's literally NSMB with a new coat of paint.

for all the talk you homosexuals make you really just roll over and let them just take entire color schemes over. first it was the rainbow and now its just random color combos. stop being such a fricking b***h
Nintendo approves of cutting kids dicks off and they want to convince your kids to cut their dicks off too. They saw the Mario movie, they know Mario is lame, men are stupid and incompetent, while Peach is the real star and the real hero to look up to. It's a natural progression for Pozztendo.
>this shithole will never have a positive reaction to any new game, why are you still here
Unless, it is something Bethesda or resetera wants to shill.

It just overstayed it's welcome. It was fundamentally a remake/refinement and not a new vision. So to have that for 15 years was pushing clearly pushing it.
What did it poison? Named Mario games still came out for 3D fans, and NSMB was for 2d. They still had new stages, new power ups, and new ways of finding secrets.

Not to sound like an ass, but are you a zoomer? A lot of people take issue with NSMB's artstyle and gameplay because it went, >SMB, establishes world and base artstyle >SMB2, drastic change that added more detail. New mechanics though this is Western-exclusive and doesn't really count >SMB3, more detail again. Japan essentially goes from 1 > 3 in terms of artstyle. Refined a shit ton of how Mario works fundamentally >SMW, again a huge artstyle shift. 16 bit console allows for further details. New powerups, Yoshi riding, secret exits, pretty well further refined Mario as we know it >SMAS, different artstyle and differs drastically from SMW. Remakes. >Mario goes silent for awhile >NSMB comes out, new artstyle. Everything's fresh and looking great. Three coin mechanic added to encourage replayability. If you're a zoomer this is very likely your introduction to Mario and why you don't see a problem with NSMB >NSMB Wii, it looks exactly the same but at 480p. Adds back ridable Yoshi from SMW >NSMB 2, it looks the exact same but with slightly added details. Does nothing new but add a reskinned fire flower >NSMBU, it looks exactly the same but with further added detail. Adds mini Yoshis which don't add much gameplay wise
When you've had the solid majority of your series looking and playing completely fresh for every entry it's extremely jarring to suddenly get constant rehashes that add nothing.

Said the israelite. You know that's why he isn't mad. Shut up and go to bed if you don't have anything valuable to contribute.
The throughline of these games for the last 10 years has been built around 4 player co-op and the 3D land's art style is a riff off the 2d art style, with different gameplay and mechanics of course. But it ended up all feeling samey.

And this doesn't? >4 player co-op

It's just NSMB with a SLIGHTLY different art style.

Sometimes it's simply down to the small things. I only played original NSMB and Wii. If you showed me footage of all of them, I couldn't tell you the difference between them. The 2D games should have had this level of detail and flair since it went on console.
God I can't fricking stand these sterile mandated models they've been copy and pasting since NSMB on the DS. This and having some falsetto voice do whooping noises on every fricking button press is enough to never make me even pirate a modern Mario game.
same here
i mean it looks good, but not that different...
this just all feels so weird, but I guess it kinda makes sense considering the irrational visceral hatred NSMB received on here when it really wasn't deserving of it and didnt make much sense. This irrational over extreme praise kinda falls in line with it, both just cases of weird mass hysteria I guess.
I need to state again, I think it looks good, I think it's great that NSMB changed up much more, the artstyle with no changes really was(is?) stale. But this is still NSMB just with a new gimmick (except the gimmick this time is more visual rather than something like coins) and nicer animations (as I'd expect from an entry produced from 11 year gap). It's hardly worth of being called a different series unless they have some huge surprises waiting.
>visceral hatred NSMB received on here when it really wasn't deserving of it
wrong, even the original entry looked and played terrible, that they stuck with it for a full decade is baffling
You were on here 14 years ago when New Super Mario Bro's came out on the Wii. Damn, what was Ganker like? Mostly gays like yourself? People are confusing dislike of 14 years of the same theme as dislike of the theme when it was initially presented.
Stop being contrarian homosexuals. You're annoyed people are criticizing the New Soup games for not being different enough and also annoyed that this game doesn't merit the name change as it's the same as the old games.
You are allowed to have thoughts for yourself. Stop calling other contrarians just because you cant even fathom thinking for yourself and are desperate to fit in with internet strangers.
And I literally said myself that New Super Mario Bros artstyle was stale. Dunno what bullshit youre putting in other peoples mouths.
It really doesn't. I always liked NSMB for what it was and never understood the hate, but now this is coming out and everyone's losing their minds talking about how great it is and I don't understand that either. It's literally NSMB with a new coat of paint.
You two are correct. Anyone who sees “a whole new kind of 2D Mario” in this is moronic and likely very unfamiliar with Mario U.
>I always liked NSMB for what it was and never understood the hate

>NSMB Wii, it looks exactly the same but at 480p. Adds back ridable Yoshi from SMW
missed 4 person multiplayer, new powerups... Look you're being disgenious and you know it.
Also you're missing something very important from your little timeline. >a while
that's a big understatement >When you've had the solid majority of your series
SMB came out 1985 and then 2D Mario went radio silent in 1992
The solid majority of 2D Mario was LITERALLY nothing. You were playing NOTHING for 14 years. Is it hard to fathom that people would rather play something than NOTHING? To anyone not a zoomer and with common sense, the what, meager 6 years of New 2D Mario games is contrasted with the previous 14 years of NOTHING. In which yeah, then it looks like a pretty damn good deal despite the shortcomings regarding the artstyle and gameplay not going through some drastic revolution.
NSMB Wii is the most fun 4-player drinking game ever. You drink when you die, go in the bubble, or miss a door/pipe before the screen changes, and you have to drink before you can pick up the controller again.
NSMB, the original game was okay for the platform and the novelty of being the first new Mario platformer in fourteen years, and NSMBWii did something interesting with four player co-op, but NSMB2 and U did nothing new and oversaturated the market with the games. The other Mario games and series got hit with the NSMB aesthetic and the entire franchise was sterilized for the sake of brand recognition. 3D World was more or less NSMB but in 3D but a step in the right direction and Odyssey was a breath of fresh air but every side series and game was hit by the NSMB stick.
Tezuka mentioned wanting to surpass NSMB and it looks like Wonder is doing just that, with actual animation, unique locales and multiple playable characters that aren't filled with Toads. Pic related sums up why NSMB grew stale.
NSMB2 is so bad the only thing that stuck with me for a bit after beating the game was the weird boo and I STILL totally forgot it until looking at the bottom left of this.
Mario U has the best level design. The other ones aren’t even close. I think the 3DS was literally a training exercise for young employees. I hope this is done by the designers of U.
>3D World was more or less NSMB but in 3D but a step in the right direction
Don't forget 3D Land beforehand, which was even more of an "NSMB in 3D" game having almost no creative flair of its own. Also, the time table of NSMB/NSMB-ish games was brutal: >NSMBWii: November 2009 >3D Land: November 2011 >NSMB2: July 2012 >NSMBU: November 2012 (JUST FOUR FRICKING MONTHS LATER) >3D World: November 2013
Five goddamn NSMB and NSMB-ish goalpost platformers in four years. 3D World's creative flair would've probably been more well-appreciated in its day if it wasn't the bookend of an already increasingly-unwelcome NSMB glut. Shit like Tanabe becoming a spiteful moron with Paper Mario in this time did NOT help matters either.
3D Land has the tightest level design out of the whole 3D lineup. It was so good that Nintendo had nowhere to go from there but stupid 4 player co op and more “open world” Mario.
It was also the first 3D game where Mario’s jump didn’t feel like floaty garbage and hitting ? blocks actually felt impactful instead of like sinking into a marshmellow.
3D World is worse. The level design is inflated to fit 4 players, producing useless empty space for single player as well as simpler obstacle course designs. Any moron here knows how to design something like a 3D world level, it’s that formulaic and basic. There are some good levels, don’t get me wrong, but I’m the whole it’s weaker.
> literally the same worlds but with prettier backgrounds > same block tiles, same coins > same musical style
I’m looking forward to it, but you’re willfully blind.
You can plainly see that I’m right. I’m happy that they’ve improved the look of certain things, but much of the core foreground is the same as Mario U with a slight reshade, I wish they didn’t still look so flat.
Its because mandategays can't face that they lost.
Also, this might just me personally, but when they first started revealing it, with the talking flower, I thought it was a mobile game with the flower and the graphics. If you thought so too, give me a (you)
The artstyle and animations are beautiful especially on a literal fisher price tablet. But it definitely seems like they're focusing on mostly the aesthetic changes in the reveal than
different gameplay stuff. At the end of the day, you have to have autism to uave already enjoyed and played NSMB or it's spin-offs and be excited for this. It's visually amazing but if you're over 18 you should be tired of this shit by now.
The only disappoint I have with Wonder is that the big gimmick seems compartmentalized. Like Yoshi in the Switch New Soup, you can only use it on Yoshi levels and can't take him with you. The SNES yoshi was just there and you could go back and play levels that didn't have him and use him. If the weird drug induced powerup is compartmentalized like this, I'm going to be way less excited. I want my mario game build inside and out with a gimmick. Otherwise, the gays might be right about it just being New Soup with a reskin not worthy of as much excitement.
Because if a sterile boring mario doesn't exist then homosexuals have nothing to blame when their favorite nintendo game afterwards is boring trash >Aaaaa its a good game but miyamoto clearly sabotaged it!!
Something just seems off about all the console New Super Mario Bros games. Is it that the character is so tiny on the screen? They just seem a lot more dull and lifeless than the original 8-bit and 16-bit Mario sidescrollers. The colors are paler and they never drastically switch up the aesthetic. I’ve had fun with them but for some reason they’re all total eyesores to me.
Because no matter how different it LOOKS, we know how Mario game design works at this point. >The core gameplay will be rock solid and a little on the simple side >The new power-up(s) will do something you've never seen before, but since it can't break the design of any level it's never going to be THAT wild >Everything legitimately unique will exist only in incredibly controlled circumstances >Every gimmick will be cordoned off from every other gimmick >If you're lucky you'll get to see them all in rapid sequence for the final gauntlet level
But unlike every other game that's gotten easier to pander to even younger and more broad crowds over the past decade, I think Mario actually deserves it. Like, it's Mario. It's the most "for everyone" series of all time. It's fine for it to be easy and spectacle-oriented; that's how you make a game "for everyone" in 2023.
I can't argue against that. Good points. I just don't want it for me. I'd rather have the Yoshi style game changing power up that weaves through the whole game.
This is why I'm waiting for Super Mario Maker 3 that'll have this be the 6th game mode. After diving into Mario romhacks and Mario Maker levels I'm not sure I can go back to Nintendo designed stages anymore.
OP, just look at the image you posted. Look at the actual level tiles. Look at how flat they are, both aesthetically and how they are lit. Look at the pipe. It’s the spitting image of NSMB. NSMB 2 (This one is better than Wii)
NSMB U (This one is a good game and replaces Wii for me)
SMB Wonder - They dropped the "new" but kept the same logo design from the DS. It's sorta like what happened to Paper Mario where the logo stopped changing. I find it hard to distinguish thusly from the "New" series, but also it has the effect of bringing the "new" games into the same fold as the originals, into one sort of through-line.
This game might have finally buckbroken the troony-obssessed non-gamer politics tourists here. They see a real actual no-kidding videogame and the only thing they can think of is transgender flag colors.
They were buck-broken from the start, can't go a day without trying to shoehorn them in completely unrelated conversations. In a way, they have become the trannies they despise so much.
Nintendo addressed the complaints NSMB received but you’re an idiot if you don’t see that this is just NSMB pretending it’s something different. Not that that’s a bad thing, Mario U was an excellent game and the team deserves more praise, but you homosexuals are hyping this for all the wrong reasons and you will all probably end up either hating this or going back and loving Mario U.
>you’re an idiot if you don’t see that this is just NSMB pretending it’s something different.
it has some graphical similarities to NSMB, but it has even more graphical differences. the physics also look extremely different and more in line with 3/World than the rigidness of the NSMB games. Look at the extra p-meter speed and outstretched arms like in 3, look at the way he jumps in the trailer, it acts NOTHING like NSMB
The “graphical differences” are not that different. You’re focussing too much on the background and not the look and feel of the foreground, which is NSMB all over, extremely flat and simple. But I digress, the physics differences give hope, yes.
It doesn’t seem to take itself as seriously at all compared to NSMB. NSMB seemed to mimic original Super Mario bros while this takes note from Super Mario World (I only played the original on DS back in the day)
The fact that people are arguing over whether or not Wonder looks different from the New games tells me one thing: Nintendo didn't do a good job separating this game artstyle from it's predecessors, and instead of deviating the art they put wacky nonsense in the gameplay to make it different. This game is not SMB5, it's NSMB5. No one is arguing that SMB3 and SMW look too much alike for example, but that's the case for this game. When Nintendo announced Mario U, despite being HD and putting pretty picturesque backgrounds I had to compare it to the Wii game to see the difference. They did the same with Wonder, a new coat of paint with way more effort put into the look, but it is the same old wall being painted again.
Yes, and anybody who argues against this is delusional… but in the end, level design is what matters, and Mario U had the best level design, so I’m hopeful this will be good too.
It's not a rehash upon rehash upon rehash, newbie. That's why people hated the series, but go ahead and scream all you want. The game looks fun and Nintendo's feeding my Daisy fix so it's a day 1 buy for me. Cry moar, homosexual.
>You’re the ones acting like it’s a bad thing and to be “more NSMB”
When it's the same game sold separately quite literally 4 times, but with just a couple new levels stuffed in there each game, uhm, yeah. It is. Black person.
Look, if the connection wasn't there, I wouldn't have gave a shit, but you do you bud.
>Look, if I didn't let trannies live rent free in my head-
Thought so. You're as obsessed as the homosexual shitposter who brought it up 3 posts in. >B-BUT THEY/THEM--
Nope. Charge rent.
I don't care that it looks similar, I will play it and it will probably be fun. The NSMB games are fun if you go back and play any one of them (except 2) with fresh eyes, and this one is more than an asset flip even if it is similar
Hey, it worked? How many people are acting like this is the first "real 2D Mario game" made since World? It disgusts me, but Nintendo played it smart this time.
it fricking sucks that people are so shallow that just removing a word from the branding is enough to turn off the kneejerk disgust reaction, you know the reception wouldnt be nearly as warm if they called it "NEW super mario bros wonder" even if absolutely nothing else changed
dont get me wrong i like the look of wonder but the nsmb series gets a bad rap, i loved and 100%'d each one
it looks more like nsmb than anything else
No, NSMB was the lowest point of 2D Mario, and mediocre at the very best.

Obsessed.
Hard not to be when they're fricking everywhere.
>Like ~0.0001% of people in the world are Trans
>Fricking everywhere
I hate you obsessive perma-online morons so much.
Nintendo approves of cutting kids dicks off and they want to convince your kids to cut their dicks off too. They saw the Mario movie, they know Mario is lame, men are stupid and incompetent, while Peach is the real star and the real hero to look up to. It's a natural progression for Pozztendo.
Light blue and pink go well together, always have always will. Stop with the troony shit.
Fricking pozzed wokeshit
Absolutely nothing.
this shithole will never have a positive reaction to any new game, why are you still here
>this shithole will never have a positive reaction to any new game, why are you still here
Unless, it is something Bethesda or resetera wants to shill.
Yeah but you can jerk off to elephant peach
It's not DRASTICALLY different, Mario is still Mario, but it's a huge fricking improvement. I can finally see that some effort went into it, don't remember the last time that happened with a 2D Mario game.
why do you guys hate nsmb?
frick off its just cotton candy colors stop letting the gay mafia steal rando color combos
I mean if you put it on a spectrum it's a lot closer to nsmb than any other entry
NSMB with le silly animations this time! SOUL. See gaijin! Totarry not another NSMB mandatu rehashu! PREASE PULCHASE ITU FOL 70 AMELICAN DORRAS!
Looks like new spoop, especially when not in the wacky world.
snoy desperately need an L, they hope it's for their enemies this time, but they have a nogaems and it is eating them alive
It'll never live up to the Normal Super Mario Bros. games.
>Normal Super Mario Bros
thank you for reminding me this existed, i haven't played it since high school
LOVE the subtle nod to the trans community
I found the last ten seconds very inspiring
It really doesn't. I always liked NSMB for what it was and never understood the hate, but now this is coming out and everyone's losing their minds talking about how great it is and I don't understand that either. It's literally NSMB with a new coat of paint.
my thoughts exactly
It just overstayed it's welcome. It was fundamentally a remake/refinement and not a new vision. So to have that for 15 years was pushing clearly pushing it.
pushing clearly pushing is a reference to the Daisy warp pipe pushing mechanic and not mental moronation.
Because it poisoned nearly everything during and after it, and it lasted FOREVER.
What did it poison? Named Mario games still came out for 3D fans, and NSMB was for 2d. They still had new stages, new power ups, and new ways of finding secrets.
It bled into Paper Mario, it bled somewhat into Mario and Luigi, it bled into Mario Party, they reused it for the fricking mobile game...
>bled into
Elaborate. Tell me how NSMB made everything worse.
If you really cannot tell that the aesthetic was everywhere for an eternity, that is on you.
>the aesthetic was everywhere for an eternity
So you're mad that Mario games look like Mario games?
see
and drop the greentext
Yes. See
Said the israelite. You know that's why he isn't mad. Shut up and go to bed if you don't have anything valuable to contribute.
Whoa, you did a racism on Ganker! How edgy!
The throughline of these games for the last 10 years has been built around 4 player co-op and the 3D land's art style is a riff off the 2d art style, with different gameplay and mechanics of course. But it ended up all feeling samey.
>it ended up all feeling samey.
And this doesn't?
>4 player co-op
Check.
>and the 3D land's art style is a riff off the 2d art style,
Check.
>with different gameplay
Check.
>and mechanics of course.
Check.
It's just NSMB with a SLIGHTLY different art style.
>slightly
ask me how i know you're disingenuous
Bro, it's 4 player side scrolling Mario with non-sprite graphics. The bah bah music is there. The same old biomes are there.
>The bah bah music is there.
Where? I didn't here a single "bah bah". I did here some acapella in there at the start of the trailer, but not a single instance of a random "BAH BAH" in the music that makes the enemies dance.
>I didn't here a single "bah bah". I did here some acapella in there at the start of the trailer
Bro.
There needs to be some kind of law where people who argue in bad faith get killed
Sure guys, it's not like NSMB at all, it's some transcendent new form of Mario game that... Uh... Has an elephant in it?
I dare you to rephrase someone's argument correctly. I don't think you've got the guts.
HONK HONK FFFFFFAAAAAAARRRRRRT
>Anon(s) will look at this and say they look the literal same
>thinks DUDE WEED TMNT looks good
But I thought the sticking point was looking IDENTICAL!
That's antisemitic
Just a coincidence
Based. That would kill whoever's responsible for half of the posts on the sites though. Probably just marketers, the mentally ill, underagers, social media refugees and very very miserable autistic types. Oh well!
This would fix the entire world overnight. Every societal problem you can think of would go away instantly.
I think I'll believe my "lying" eyes instead of your bait.
Sometimes it's simply down to the small things. I only played original NSMB and Wii. If you showed me footage of all of them, I couldn't tell you the difference between them. The 2D games should have had this level of detail and flair since it went on console.
>this level of detail and flair
Holy shit all of you tendies sound the fricking same. Buzzwords buzzwords buzzwords.
*the DS
>dislike of 14 years of the same theme
justified
>dislike of the theme when it was initially presented
happened and was justified
Stop being contrarian homosexuals. You're annoyed people are criticizing the New Soup games for not being different enough and also annoyed that this game doesn't merit the name change as it's the same as the old games.
You are allowed to have thoughts for yourself. Stop calling other contrarians just because you cant even fathom thinking for yourself and are desperate to fit in with internet strangers.
And I literally said myself that New Super Mario Bros artstyle was stale. Dunno what bullshit youre putting in other peoples mouths.
>irrational over extreme praise
it's shills man
You two are correct. Anyone who sees “a whole new kind of 2D Mario” in this is moronic and likely very unfamiliar with Mario U.
NSMB wasn't bringing in anything new after the Wii game. 2's entire gimmick was COINS and U only bought in fat yoshis and the stupid crown.
>I always liked NSMB for what it was and never understood the hate
Not to sound like an ass, but are you a zoomer? A lot of people take issue with NSMB's artstyle and gameplay because it went,
>SMB, establishes world and base artstyle
>SMB2, drastic change that added more detail. New mechanics though this is Western-exclusive and doesn't really count
>SMB3, more detail again. Japan essentially goes from 1 > 3 in terms of artstyle. Refined a shit ton of how Mario works fundamentally
>SMW, again a huge artstyle shift. 16 bit console allows for further details. New powerups, Yoshi riding, secret exits, pretty well further refined Mario as we know it
>SMAS, different artstyle and differs drastically from SMW. Remakes.
>Mario goes silent for awhile
>NSMB comes out, new artstyle. Everything's fresh and looking great. Three coin mechanic added to encourage replayability. If you're a zoomer this is very likely your introduction to Mario and why you don't see a problem with NSMB
>NSMB Wii, it looks exactly the same but at 480p. Adds back ridable Yoshi from SMW
>NSMB 2, it looks the exact same but with slightly added details. Does nothing new but add a reskinned fire flower
>NSMBU, it looks exactly the same but with further added detail. Adds mini Yoshis which don't add much gameplay wise
When you've had the solid majority of your series looking and playing completely fresh for every entry it's extremely jarring to suddenly get constant rehashes that add nothing.
>NSMB Wii, it looks exactly the same but at 480p. Adds back ridable Yoshi from SMW
missed 4 person multiplayer, new powerups... Look you're being disgenious and you know it.
Also you're missing something very important from your little timeline.
>a while
that's a big understatement
>When you've had the solid majority of your series
I really miss playing NSMB Wii or U with friends, so much fun for a simple platform game
Used to play them with my school bros. Now we've all graduated and I don't see them as much anymore, I miss those days.
Also, the time table of NSMB/NSMB-ish games was brutal:
>NSMBWii: November 2009
>3D Land: November 2011
>NSMB2: July 2012
>NSMBU: November 2012 (JUST FOUR FRICKING MONTHS LATER)
>3D World: November 2013
It was also the first actual Mario game in 3D.
>3D Land
switch port when?
Frick, I actually can't rule that one out with how desperate they're starting to get for ports.
Forgot 3D Land, which says enough. It crawled so 3D World could walk.
3D Land literally had a level you could beat in 5 fricking seconds.
So did 3D world.
Have you guys never played Mario Maker? 20 second challenges are all the rage.
why are you mad about this vastly superior artstyle?
Keep reposting this image until it scares the shitposters away
It's the same picture.
> literally the same worlds but with prettier backgrounds
> same block tiles, same coins
> same musical style
I’m looking forward to it, but you’re willfully blind.
>> same block tiles, same coins
>> same musical style
moron
you're either purposely lying, blind, or genuinely moronic
You can plainly see that I’m right. I’m happy that they’ve improved the look of certain things, but much of the core foreground is the same as Mario U with a slight reshade, I wish they didn’t still look so flat.
Holy shit, when you put NSMBU and SMBW next to each other, SMBW looks way worse than I previously thought, kek.
It's really not that different.
Like it obviously looks better, but not THAT much better.
>exact same game but now the UI overlaps
Its because mandategays can't face that they lost.
Also, this might just me personally, but when they first started revealing it, with the talking flower, I thought it was a mobile game with the flower and the graphics. If you thought so too, give me a (you)
(you)
i thought it was mario run for switch or something
The artstyle and animations are beautiful especially on a literal fisher price tablet. But it definitely seems like they're focusing on mostly the aesthetic changes in the reveal than
different gameplay stuff. At the end of the day, you have to have autism to uave already enjoyed and played NSMB or it's spin-offs and be excited for this. It's visually amazing but if you're over 18 you should be tired of this shit by now.
This game is not for adult men, you gotta stop talking about it and move on
The only disappoint I have with Wonder is that the big gimmick seems compartmentalized.
It doesn't. It's the same queerish nìntoddler bullshit. We deserved a genuine new Mario game. Instead we're getting more goyslop.
These talking flowers will make me want to kill myself, won't they?
Because if a sterile boring mario doesn't exist then homosexuals have nothing to blame when their favorite nintendo game afterwards is boring trash
>Aaaaa its a good game but miyamoto clearly sabotaged it!!
I'm going to play this with my wife.
No, you are going to play this while I frick your wife but I will be happy to buy you the DLC champ.
Does your porn addiction cause you to talk about your gay fantasies in public as well?
>Writing fanfiction about another anon instead of getting laid
Seek help.
Happy to hear that, anon. Be sure to grief her while playing.
because it is
there's only so much you can do with the 2d plain
unless you want something more like spm (which i am down for)
New animations and physics look more fun
Something just seems off about all the console New Super Mario Bros games. Is it that the character is so tiny on the screen? They just seem a lot more dull and lifeless than the original 8-bit and 16-bit Mario sidescrollers. The colors are paler and they never drastically switch up the aesthetic. I’ve had fun with them but for some reason they’re all total eyesores to me.
OH NO MARIOBROS
NTR's back on the menu boys!
oh thats why the Wonder is in that colour, its this prince kids colours
DEEPEST FRICKING LOREEEEEEEE
I WANT THAT TWINK OBLITERATED.
NOW.
by futa wiener?
And morons don't think this game will be soul
Roll! Roll! Roll!
Because no matter how different it LOOKS, we know how Mario game design works at this point.
>The core gameplay will be rock solid and a little on the simple side
>The new power-up(s) will do something you've never seen before, but since it can't break the design of any level it's never going to be THAT wild
>Everything legitimately unique will exist only in incredibly controlled circumstances
>Every gimmick will be cordoned off from every other gimmick
>If you're lucky you'll get to see them all in rapid sequence for the final gauntlet level
The background is prettier, Mario is more soulful, yes, but this is just another pack of levels from their in-house NSMB level editor.
I like it but I think they could have gone a teeny tiny bit farther and given them outlines to help with the style
So like Return to Dreamland Deluxe
2d marios:
>generally agreed classics (pre-"new")
SMB
SMB LL
SMB 2
SMB 3
World
World 2 (Yoshi's Island)
>odd handheld titles
Land
Land 2
Deluxe & "Advance" remake series
>disputed quality, no longer "new" anyway
NSMB (I think it's par)
NSMB Wii (This one is weak)
NSMB 2 (This one is better than Wii)
NSMB U (This one is a good game and replaces Wii for me)
SMB Wonder - They dropped the "new" but kept the same logo design from the DS. It's sorta like what happened to Paper Mario where the logo stopped changing. I find it hard to distinguish thusly from the "New" series, but also it has the effect of bringing the "new" games into the same fold as the originals, into one sort of through-line.
>NSMB Wii (This one is weak)
>NSMB 2 (This one is better than Wii)
well thats a hot take i havent seen before
This game might have finally buckbroken the troony-obssessed non-gamer politics tourists here. They see a real actual no-kidding videogame and the only thing they can think of is transgender flag colors.
They were buck-broken from the start, can't go a day without trying to shoehorn them in completely unrelated conversations. In a way, they have become the trannies they despise so much.
NSMB was completely soulless, Wonder actually has some good character designs
You missed out on a great game in Mario U for caring about such a non-issue.
troony colors
But I digress, the physics differences give hope, yes.
this game had more soul than anything else shown today and nu-Ganker has shit taste
It doesn’t seem to take itself as seriously at all compared to NSMB. NSMB seemed to mimic original Super Mario bros while this takes note from Super Mario World (I only played the original on DS back in the day)
> No air spin
> Multiple kinds of on-rails levels
It looks worse than Mario U.
It has air spin, rewatch the trailer closely
Mario peaked with Sunshine
they could've picked any other animal
like what, a wieneratoo? an armadillo
What would you have preferred? Hippo? Panda? Walrus?
>Hippo Peach and Daisy smushing Bowser with their FAT butts
Stop, my dick can't take it
>Walrus
that would have been cool
>the peach threads are gonna be full of elephant tf now
They picked a sexy one its ok
we won mariobros
Remember how you’d die in Mario U and see all the mii posts of people who died in the same spot?
I get Sonic Mania vibes from SMBWonder, somehow.
holy shit this was quick
Theres already dozens of images made
The fact that people are arguing over whether or not Wonder looks different from the New games tells me one thing: Nintendo didn't do a good job separating this game artstyle from it's predecessors, and instead of deviating the art they put wacky nonsense in the gameplay to make it different.
Why has Dr.Mario never been a suit in a side scroller? This seems like a no brainer.
Can it top the king?
DX could've. If it didn't die.
I'm pretty sure it's still in development
Last update was over a year ago. I'm not getting my hopes up.
>not 2D animated
At least they are making it look more "2D" than 3D now and has smear frames, etc.
>Contrarians so desperate to spin this as yet another "Le NSMB" boogeyman
No fun, only Tortanic and shitposting.
You’re the ones acting like it’s a bad thing and to be “more NSMB”. And you know it’s the same level designers, the same team, right?
It's not a rehash upon rehash upon rehash, newbie. That's why people hated the series, but go ahead and scream all you want. The game looks fun and Nintendo's feeding my Daisy fix so it's a day 1 buy for me. Cry moar, homosexual.
>You’re the ones acting like it’s a bad thing and to be “more NSMB”
When it's the same game sold separately quite literally 4 times, but with just a couple new levels stuffed in there each game, uhm, yeah. It is. Black person.
>Look, if I didn't let trannies live rent free in my head-
Thought so. You're as obsessed as the homosexual shitposter who brought it up 3 posts in.
>B-BUT THEY/THEM--
Nope. Charge rent.
>yfw NSMBshit is dead and celebration tune
While it's better than New Soup, I still think it looks too busy.
New soup?
This will be the first mario after Odyssey that I will pick up because based Daisy is playable.
this honestly looks like a game that was cancelled over a decade ago, like it never got past the concept stage
and i love it all the more for it
I don't care that it looks similar, I will play it and it will probably be fun. The NSMB games are fun if you go back and play any one of them (except 2) with fresh eyes, and this one is more than an asset flip even if it is similar
its literally just nsbm 2
It's obvious this was going to be another NSMB game but they didn't want to use that name again so they called it something else.
It's a step in right direction but still the artstyle doesn't look as good as Rayman Origins/Legends, Ori, Yoshi wooly world etc.
