Why is Andy Bogard's stage on a boat in Italy? iirc he's an American who trained in Japan. And he doesn't seem like the type to take a vacation. Way too serious and a workaholic as far as training goes.

He went on a training journey after playing second fiddle to Terry in FF1 and ended up in Italy. He does like spaghetti, maybe it was on purpose.

The Bogards are probably Italian immigrants or some shit.

Definitely probably not. Ancestry says mostly dutch, but I found this:
Which says it's actually pre middle ages British. Andrea Bogardini would be the proper Italian spelling. My hypothesis for as to which why is Andy bobandy in Venice, would be... He just lives there because he likes it. Lots of people move to places because they like them, it's not uncommon. Strange for the game to do this and I'm not saying I'm correct in my assumption, but if it's not stated in lore, then it's plausible. Or, maybe he married a nice Italian gal and moved to her families estate in Venice, because why the frick wouldn't you do that? Idk, just spit balling on the infinite Andy possibilities.

just a kind reminder in the ova he is called by yuri and ryo "roberto" and is mencioned he is the son of the garcia zaibatsu (roberto is a latino name along the surname garcia which is from mexico or spain).
keep in denial homosexual you can't deny the truth.

                >garcia foundation in italy
doesn't mean is italian specially with that surname.
                https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/García_(surname)
either he is mexican or phlipine yet what makes it clear he is mexican is when they enter on KOF.
                >Team Art Of Fighting : country mexico.
you can't make up excuses anymore,i was leading you to the point i wanted,i was expecting you to post that answer.
Also sakazaki is a norwegian name for you?? have you ever heard of yankees on nippon or hair dye? (ryo has dark hair roots) it seems too much for you to know those stuff exist and anyone can have any hair color they want.

Paco, Robert is Italian. And if he was a Hispanic he’d obviously be Cuban because he was based off of ANDY GARCIA. Dumbfrick

You can push as much as you want robert is italian because of your headcanon but let's not forget the important stuff schizo.
I know you are confusing the italian with the mexican flag,is hard not to do it since are the same.
The important details are team art of fighting representing mexico, and robert has the most mexican surname "garcia" and you are done.
There is no buts or ifs robert is mexican,if he had a surname like mussolini, panini or domething similar yes i would agree he is italian, sadly he is a mexican rich boy only that (and he looks more mexican with each KOF).

Does Italy have a form of Martial Art?

        Anonymous

I can't think of any but there are probably some from the middle ages that could be subsumed under some HEMA type shit, although I think that'd just make the character a lesser Krauser

Yes, the Italians are masters of Guidō

He could also be a mobster type guy but I don't know what martial art would fit that plus Geese already has the mob boss aesthetic down pretty well

        Anonymous

I looked it up and most Italian martial arts are just historical curiosities or adaptations of other styles like kickboxing and jujutsu. But there's some gladiator reconstruction style that sounded like it could be interesting. Trying to imagine a hypothetical SNK character that would use it. If it were Street Fighter it'd be easy because they'd just make some guy wearing Ancient Rome style gladiator armor but Fatal Fury has more style.

I wanted to say Greco-Roman wrestling, but turned out it was just some 19th century French LARPers going "we wuz greeks and shiet".

          Anonymous

Now you got me wondering if there's ever been a fighting game character whose style is Greco-Roman wrestling. Hard to even imagine how that would play out, upper body throws only I guess, I mean boxing characters are basically the striking version of that so maybe it could work.

The "Mysteries of Fatal Fury" book by Gamest gave 3-4 possibilities.
    >He's in Italy so that he can eat authentic spaghetti at any time, since it's his favorite food.
    >Terry's in America/South Town and Mai is in Japan
    >His parents may have been italian and Italy may have been one of his earliest memories, so he instinctively likes to be there
    >He just really likes Italy since he trained there.
