Devs seems to have trouble developing with both so I'd say it doesn't really matter.
Kingdom Come for example is still buggy as shit and has trouble with performance even many years after patches.
God I wish we could have gotten that original beta release of KCD.
I'm sure that would have had no issues running at 4k60 on even something like a 3080 Ti.
nonsense CryEngine is optimized, there are few settings for "ultra" stuff but you can actually set them lower and it looks almost the same while having way more performance
go ahead try to do that in recent UE4 games... sad really
whats even more hilarious, CryEngine was created for large maps, so it is way better at handling streaming in assets, so the open world will always look and run better
UE5 is introducing this stuff while CryEngine had these features since Crysis
>whats even more hilarious, CryEngine was created for large maps
And yet, Meme Citizen devs had issues with map size / player count. Really doubt they would have issues in the Fortnite engine.
Can't speak for player count issues but what star citizen wanted for map sizes was going to require a ton of work since no engine at the time supported things like double precision physics or streaming at that scale. Not to excuse the scam but the only tool today for full planets and double precision out of the box is unigine
Yes, fix.
Lights casting no shadows at ultra settings is not right.
whats the mod btw

>Lights casting no shadows at ultra settings is not right.
By that logic every single UE4/Unity game on the market is broken, because they're all full of dynamic lights that don't cast shadows and none of them have full path tracing yet.
>Kingdom Come for example is still buggy as shit and has trouble with performance even many years after patches.
not really unless you put the graphics up so high where they warn you that the settings are "experimental" but it looks great and runs good for me with them just below that
its prebuilt and it gets better framerate in better looking games
i bet you just didnt have all the LOD sliders cranked as high as i did

hey Black person, all the fricking gpus were fricking unavailable from scalping israelites. i built a computer 11 years ago and it was time to build a whole ass new one and was sick of being unable to and said frick it

And your dumbass got ripped the frick off because you waited a decade to upgrade instead of doing the sensible thing and upgrading every 6-7 years.

i did upgrade moron. upgrading my GPU alone let me coast for pretty much the entire time because i had a 5ghz i7 and 16gb of ram back in 2012. then around 2021 i figured i needed a new mobo just to even get a new CPU, and new power supply obviously for that and a new GPU, so there was no point in not just building a whole new computer or buying one

the ultra high preset also doesn't crank the lod sliders fully, why are you so dumb?

ok. so you werent ackshually playing on the highest settings. why are YOU so dumb?
>Kingdom Come for example is still buggy as shit and has trouble with performance
Excuse me that had playable frames on ultra settings on my 660 but the pretty graphics does not change the fact the game's very boring. I should try hunt.
The problem with Hunt is it's beautiful up close, but the graphics are basically a trick. The LOD range is extremely short and LODs are extremely low quality. Beyond 30 feet everything is PS2 graphics.
The biggest lie about Hunt is that it has good sound design. The sound design is absolute shit and it was extremely apparent during the wildfire event they ran not long ago, you'd stand in the thing and the sound would be 150% and you couldn't hear shit, but somehow you could hear people shooting from the other side if you were outside it. And the fricking static light shafts, seriously just fricking delete them if you can't work out how to make them work properly, they don't even turn off during the night in some places.
I have 1986 hours and the only gun I can pick at distance is the nitro or tell if it's a shotgun. Being able to hear people sneaking if you listen really carefully isn't praiseworthy.
It has the problem most modern games have in that it thinks sounds should be extremely muffled. If you've ever been inside a barn while someone shot a gun outside, it doesn't sound like they shoved the barrel into a plastic bottle, then into a pillow, then into a man's ass as he farts the noise back out.
Nanite is fancy Occlusion Culling, simplified and combined with optimized meshes,
its about as revolutionary as tessellation these days, which is not all and has existed since 2000s
Branding doesnt make it "revolutionary"
epic games has shat on pc since the 360 days with their gears of war games. Everything tied to them on pc has been a disaster to the point where it almost seems intentional, I just don't understand what pc ever did to tim sweeney to make him this way
>muh realistic graphics tbh
You do not like videogames
It's a fun game it also runs at max settings 1440p 60fps on a 3060 12gb
>muh tendy boogieman
Keep coping graphicgay. You're lowest tier of gamer. Hyperrealism is soulless. Made by hacks with no creativity or talent, for normie slop consumers such as yourself.
the gameplay loop is just not set up to appeal to the audience that doesn't grind it daily (same as old arena shooters) which sucks because all other shooters are braindead bar apex, but apex is ugly as frick to look at, it gives me a headache
crysis 4 better be like crysis wars on steroids, it will be such a winner if they pull it off
>the gameplay loop is just not set up to appeal to the audience that doesn't grind it daily
lol what the frick are you on about? the only reason to "grind daily" in hunt is maybe for blood bonds from 1st extraction and blood bonds only buy cosmetics
Game has a ton of problems, not sure if it's all because of the engine, but Crytek are incompetent hacks and shouldn't produce online games.
Hunts only saving grace is that its so obscure that it's not yet infested with millions of cheaters. There's still a ton, but you can actually win consistently, so it's not unplayable yet.
What would you like to see fixed? I find the bounty monsters being chained to their layers disappointing and easily abusable, would be awesome if it was more like monster hunter.
>What would you like to see fixed?
Remove the report system, cause it's not being utilized anyways and doesn't give feedback on your reports, effectively making it worthless to the playerbase.
>he unironically thinks unreal 5 games will look like this >meanwhile in reality >doodoo ps4 games that are optimized even worse but trees no longer flip from 2d to 3d anymore while also looking hundreds of times worse than a PS2 game
>better >literally can't manage basic shit that was solved in other engines decades ago >guns sticking through walls >infinite falling loops as soon as you step on an uneven rock
etc etc
Also with that timesplitters remake, it could never be done because crytek forced the fandevs to use cryengine for it, but there was no documentation and the engine was so shit to work with that they could never actually finish the project
>>guns sticking through walls
falling loops as soon as you step on an uneven rock
You say that like this isn't present in 90% of current games regardless of engine.
My friend plays it on a 1060 at 60 by just lowering a couple of settings below epic. It's probably one of the better optimized UE multiplayer games excluding Fortnite
Devs seems to have trouble developing with both so I'd say it doesn't really matter.
Kingdom Come for example is still buggy as shit and has trouble with performance even many years after patches.

prey 2017 is one of the most well optimised games ive ever played and its on CryEngine
It still requires a mod to enable all the dynaic light shadows.
Yea, and it's a simple download to enable the remote console and type in a few commands.
That just confirms what I said, devs have no clue how to use it if users need to fix shit themselves.
>fix
Are you moronic?
Yes, fix.
Lights casting no shadows at ultra settings is not right.

It runs great on those experimental settings on newish hardware gtx 30 series onwards and current gen cpus
i have a RTX 3080 and no it stutters far worse than even msfs 2020 on ultra which is like the most demanding game ever made
You probably built your computer like a moron because

I played it on ultra settings on a fricking RX580 and got steady 30fps+
people who say KC:D is unoptimized are smoking crack
>Kingdom Come for example is still buggy as shit and has trouble with performance
Excuse me that had playable frames on ultra settings on my 660 but the pretty graphics does not change the fact the game's very boring. I should try hunt.
>Excuse me that had playable frames on ultra settings on my 660
Try moving beyond the prologue. My 960 would would dip to 30 at 900p
>why is cryengine so much better than unreal engine?
it filters low tier devs.
Hunt really is a beautiful game.
The problem with Hunt is it's beautiful up close, but the graphics are basically a trick. The LOD range is extremely short and LODs are extremely low quality. Beyond 30 feet everything is PS2 graphics.
That's not a trick, that's intelligent.
Where did I say highest settings? We were talking about the experimental settings the game warns you about, which work great with current hardware
>Beyond 30 feet everything is PS2 graphics.
That's basically every modern game.
it's also exaggeratory, it's more like 300 ft
The biggest lie about Hunt is that it has good sound design. The sound design is absolute shit and it was extremely apparent during the wildfire event they ran not long ago, you'd stand in the thing and the sound would be 150% and you couldn't hear shit, but somehow you could hear people shooting from the other side if you were outside it. And the fricking static light shafts, seriously just fricking delete them if you can't work out how to make them work properly, they don't even turn off during the night in some places.
the sound design is praised from a gameplay perspective moron
I have 1986 hours and the only gun I can pick at distance is the nitro or tell if it's a shotgun. Being able to hear people sneaking if you listen really carefully isn't praiseworthy.
That's also an oversimplification as it also effects the pve
>wow you can hear an immolator from 50 meters away this is revolutionary
just stop posting and delete your account dumbass
I'm talking about the cans, the crows, all the sound shit that allerts pve
you're so dumb
It has the problem most modern games have in that it thinks sounds should be extremely muffled. If you've ever been inside a barn while someone shot a gun outside, it doesn't sound like they shoved the barrel into a plastic bottle, then into a pillow, then into a man's ass as he farts the noise back out.

Are you a seething tendy?
>muh tendy boogieman
Keep coping graphicgay. You're lowest tier of gamer. Hyperrealism is soulless. Made by hacks with no creativity or talent, for normie slop consumers such as yourself.
Whatever you say anon
SOVL
>muh realistic graphics tbh
You do not like videogames
how do you get this moronic?
>Tim Sweeney seems like a massive coping homosexual
This game only looks good in screenshots. Now show the hideous SSR on the water while moving.
When are devs gonna stop using this homosexual knife holding pose?
That's how you'd fight with a knife irl anon
>That's how you'd fight with a knife irl anon
if your life is a scammy mcdojo self defense video then yeah
It's a legitimate and useful fighting style with more stabbing power
maybe, not for most people though
hunt is artistically beautiful game, too bad it sucks.
Why do you think it sucks?
the gameplay loop is just not set up to appeal to the audience that doesn't grind it daily (same as old arena shooters) which sucks because all other shooters are braindead bar apex, but apex is ugly as frick to look at, it gives me a headache

I'd love for mobs not to spawn on top of me for starters, especially soundtraps.

Remove the report system, cause it's not being utilized anyways and doesn't give feedback on your reports, effectively making it worthless to the playerbase.
UE5 shits on cryengine
That's not a game you can play anon, it's vaporware
>he unironically thinks unreal 5 games will look like this
>meanwhile in reality
>doodoo ps4 games that are optimized even worse but trees no longer flip from 2d to 3d anymore while also looking hundreds of times worse than a PS2 game
Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric
>better

etc etc

You say that like this isn't present in 90% of current games regardless of engine.
Well no one made a thread arguing that their engines were better
>remakes
German engineering
I looks on par with a well made UE game doe
examples? and how do those games perform?
Hell let loose looks pretty good and runs pretty well with 100 players on. Also Hellblade
hellblade runs horribly
I don't know about hell let loose
>and runs pretty well
No the frick it doesn't.
And Hellblade is a glorified hallway simulator.
My friend plays it on a 1060 at 60 by just lowering a couple of settings below epic. It's probably one of the better optimized UE multiplayer games excluding Fortnite
>Drops to the mid-30s as soon as he gets anywhere near actual combat
>Cuts to a new clip to avoid showing how badly it runs
Yea, runs like shit.
He has everything maxed out in that video.
Meanwhile, hunt hits 60 or below on medium with like a dozen people on the map with the same setup.
>Meanwhile, hunt hits 60 or below on medium
And looks better than Hell Let Loose, while still running better.
And runs much much much better.
What's the engine DMC5, RE past 7 and Doom 2016 use?
That's the best one.
re engine, doom 2016 is id tech
>Doom 2016
love swapping weapons and seeing texture pop-ins
DE idTech7 is far superior
Made by competent developers.
