because of too much bullshit on screen at once and from everywhere, and it's all random, with one attack's patterns overlapping with the next one, creating a lot of really hard to impossible scenarios at random.
the art and music more than make up for it, though. and it's not like it's impossible. it's flaws would be greatly diminished if it wasn't so hard, however, and it left the maniac modes optional.
I just replayed the entire game to get Chalice's alt skin and the only random attack in the entire game is the directional part of Icegay's quartet of icebabies. Everything else is either picked from a hardcoded list of positions or is baitable.
Simple cuts entire phases of bosses and stops progression, you're not playing the entire game by doing it. Certain weapons and charms are what you use if you want to make things a little easier.
No idea anon, sounds like an odd glitch and I've never seen that before. The other anon is also wrong that time never counted as you need to beat the DLC bosses (excluding saltbaker) in under 2mins to get an s rank as an example
co op can be very frustrating if you're playing with a shitter because it doubles the bosses hp, if you're carrying you better get near pefect at dodging most bosses attacks, every boss is a test of endurance
Cuphead controls too simple if you get what I mean. Like you can't really control how far you jump or dash, it's always set.
I don't have a problem with jumping since you can always cancel into a dash midway into the animation, but with dashes you're always set to a specific distance. Idk if this is shitter talk but as someone who's beaten all of Cuphead including the DLC, there has been plenty of instances (especially the DLC's final boss) where I wished I could control my dash's distance such as holding the triggers for a set period of time like any good platformer with a dash. Sometimes feels like there are situations in the game where I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place and the real only viable way to counter is with the charm that gives you an invincible dash. I personally never use because I have a hard time guesstimating where I'll be by the end of that dash and I want to see if there's a way to overcome the game's obstacles without it since it shouldn't be designed around it to begin with.
your wording does sound like you got filtered pretty hard but I see your point. Have you tried out the Master Quest mod by chance? It adds a harder difficulty for the isle 1-3 bosses and heavily nerfed smoke bomb so that it has a very short dash and smaller window which was actually very interesting to play with for the boss designs especially when going for S Ranks
Difficulty doesn't just enhance the gameplay, it also enhances the world and the story. I feel like I'm really a part of the game world because I've invested so much of myself into it, so the story has more impact for me. Not just in this game but in all tough games.
I beat the whole game dying only 30 times, but i'm a veteran in megaman games. I've seen a friend that never played megaman before (or any 2D shooter for that matter) dying over 500 times to beat the game.
Because you're actually playing as the antagonists. Every boss is just a normal citizen, each of them tricked by the Devil to sell their souls for power to him, but now use that power to survive. Cuphead and Mugman on the other hand gamble away their souls like morons and piss 'n shit their pants over losing their souls and resort to fighting all the poor victims of the Devil's trickery to save their own skins.
Likewise in the DLC, you attack innocents on the behest of a living saltshaker and a ghost to loot their ingredients for this magical pastry that gives you the power over the astral plane.
He's ceramic.
came here to say something among the lines of "he's a cup" but this will do
>looks like I got a couple of real degenerates on my hands
what did she mean by this??
She meant the Western animation industry has degenerated from what it was and could be, and the Cuphead Show is an example of that.
Same goes for eastern even though it was never good
Same except cartoons were never good
That's wrong, Japanese animators were great in the 90s.
This show isn't bad but its disappointing, I wanted old timey cartoons not modern cartoons with a film filter on top of it.
The small pupils and yellow is what ruins it
Because you're not using the Smoke Bomb or the most ideal weapons for each boss
You can't use Smoke Bomb on plane levels
It gives you iframes during the size transition. You can exploit this on the cow level to hang out at the top of the screen the entire third phase.

no, I refuse to choose Simple mode.
>and it's all random
It is not tho
>I did not play the game, or am being moronic
I already beat it so w/e Black person
tell me what is random, there are very few things that are random, if you don't name 3 I will kill you
holy filtered.
post your s ranks

are you being moronic on purpose? I am talking about the DLC, though.
I don't remember the rest of the game that well, so maybe it's just that part.
ANSWER WHAT IS RANDOM MOTHERFRICKER
so you cant name them. guess youre going to be murdered by that other anon for your lies. enjoy.
uhoh anon
is gonna kill ya
have fun being murdered dummy
just choose simple mode
stop with the ego preventing you from clicking it
theres a reason its there

How is this a S-Rank? If I got under par time?
good question, does that count as an s rank on the list too? sounds like an odd glitch
Yeah, it says it's an S rank on the list as well.
I remember it counting when I played the base game
No idea anon, sounds like an odd glitch and I've never seen that before. The other anon is also wrong that time never counted as you need to beat the DLC bosses (excluding saltbaker) in under 2mins to get an s rank as an example
time doesn't matter for score
That shit happened to me too, maybe there's a few seconds of leeway for some bosses?
the real time limit is 2:09.
I haven't unlocked expert yet but it doesn't seem that hard on normal. Well the run n guns are annoying but I'm almost done with Island 2.
It's basically Rayman with better/fair hitboxes, don't bother with Rayman because you'd attempt suicide.
using this thread as an excuse to post this again

nice mix anon
might be my favorite ive made with the site
this one was also pretty good lol https://rave.dj/lNAHNCl1HodXJg
surprisingly chill though I have to be honest I kek'd hard at anime south park at 0:23
It's not even that hard. I grew up with Contra 3 and that's still harder than Cuphead
My younger brother wants to play with me because he saw the Netflix show
But I'm afraid I'm too much of a shitter to carry him through the game
co op can be very frustrating if you're playing with a shitter because it doubles the bosses hp, if you're carrying you better get near pefect at dodging most bosses attacks, every boss is a test of endurance
i can't even imagine trying to s-rank in co-op.
He saw Chalice's feet.

The dash is fricking terrible and should only be used to dodge very telegraphed attacks. Just use the smokebomb, its great

You're probably playing with a bad wireless controller (8bit do for eg) and your shitty modern TV has too much input lag.
the m30 is actually great for cuphead.
