the last time i had a blast playing gundam was on PS2, Gundam Encounter in Space and ACE2.
the ones on PSP was fun too but mogged by the Macross game, even though both using the same engine
This is an overstatement, but I do think that the Gundam games always feel lacking in one dimension. You can't really convey the totality of the anime experience in game format.
There's a lot of reasons for that.
Gundam itself has an inconsistent depiction of how mobile suits move. Some people want it to play like Mechwarrior, but some want it to play like Zone of the Enders.
The anime that the games are based on also have various ways they depict combat so this makes it more difficult.
The games are just as varied we have Gundam 2D fighters, 3D arena fighters, strategy games, 3rd person shooters, 1st person shooters, turn based, side-scrollers, beat em ups, MMOs, and probably more.
On top of that I don't even know how you'd begin to try and express the core themes of Gundam through games.
I tried to play those games on the PSP after beating Triangle Frontier, I just couldn't get into them. I think the speed of movement in the Macross games and the fact that you can transform really helps a lot. Movement is like one of the most important parts of gameplay and very few Gundam games make it feel good.
>On top of that I don't even know how you'd begin to try and express the core themes of Gundam through games.
This could be done but the experience would need to be fully original, making an original Gundam story that is built with that theme in mind from the start. But it would probably be a hard sell since it would probably need to be mostly new designs.
thats what they shouldve done. no one gives a shit about armored core and it was never gonna go anywhere, gundam has way more financial potential assuming a very good game is released with it along with a good anime at the same time.
>No one gives a shit about Armored Core
And yet FromSoft delivers a great game with such dead game franchise, meanwhile Bandai Namco can't commit to actually make a decent Gundam video game, with all the resources they got.
No, I'm not dabbing on you, dear anon. Thing is...I'm actually shocked we still haven't gotten a decent Gundam game.
The most "Gundam" Mech game we ever had was Zone of Enders. I believe any decent Gundam Single player game would look like that. I mean, Gundam is not going to copy the Customization feature of Armored Core, right?
Well good thing having developed armored core 6 makes it trivial to shart out a dozen story-focused gundam clones every year now, if only there was the will.
I really wish they’d go back and make another 2D fighter like the Battle Assault games. Nothing wrong with the open arena Versus stuff but the SNES/PSX fighters were really fun and had excellent art. There’s clearly something of a market there considering how big DBZ Fighters was after nearly 20 years of Budokai rehashes
one of the worst games ive ever played and one of the worst implementations of gundam ever, they never move that slow ever lmao. shooting feels like garbage, flying feels like garbage, walking feels like garbage, aiming feels like garbage, reload times makes you suicidal, the game is terribly optimized, the servers are pure trash, literal gacha trash, tons of mobile suits that no one fricking knows of/probably made up along with lazy repaints, and the main lobby has actual 2006 graphics for no reason
lol filtered out from playing a game that takes zero critical thinking or technical skill? nice one dumbfrick. if we were talking about chess or basketball then you can talk shit but you play gbo2 LMAO
>slow-paced gacha RPS with I-frames
Wow, like 5 gen Armored Core but for paypig vegetables
I started playing this month and i'm enjoying it, just dont play the higher cost matches because then it's just a stun-lock fest. in the lower cost matches gacha doesn't exist cause all the suits are cheap and you can get them with the points you're provided as rewards. Cost 350-550 are playable, Really lovin my High Mobility Zaku II and Mudrock.
>SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays was pretty good as well.
That reminds me, does the Platinum edition come with the songs from the Premium G Sound Edition?
Ok, real talk here: Bandi Namco has decided to actually make a good, single player, Gundam Game.
The first big decision about this game is the next:
Would you? >A)Make the game in a new AU, exclusive to this game.
Or >B)Pick an existing AU, or even UC, to make this game?
Remember that having a new AU may allow you to be more flexible with the plot, and mechanics of the game. I personally would choose Anno Dommini. It feels like the perfect AU to deploy the wildest shit ever in Gundam
Same reason most if not all Anime tie-in video games are pure trash, its a crash grab to capitalize on the IP
do you think well ever get a good gundam game?
So basically what Games Workshop does?
Why zoomers are gay and stupid?

Why are movie adaptations of video games usually shit? Same reason.
Because Bamco refuses to create a proper ExVS port.
Imagine a new Gundam game in the style of Armored Core 6...
A SOVLs-like Gundam game.... That would be pure kino

I have spent my whole time in armored core so far wishing I was in a zaku instead
i want a gundam game like this
Does GvG count?
SDGO was good
Most are trash but not all. You just have bad taste of you don't like exvs or ggen.

It’s good you just got filtered

I wish ac6 had better bigger multiplayer

Good you were properly filtered out, good riddance.
I bet you think Armored Core 4 was a good game
lol filtered out from playing a game that takes zero critical thinking or technical skill? nice one dumbfrick. if we were talking about chess or basketball then you can talk shit but you play gbo2 LMAO
>game is beyond shit
>lol filtered
yeazh I guess

Name any good game at all, OP
Endless Duel proves you wrong easily.
Dynasty Warriors was fairly decent
GBO2 would be a whole lot better if they fixed the fricking servers
The PS2 games were slow paced but fun
Pic is one of the best mech vidya you will ever play
There was also SDGO and that was a kino Battle arena game with a lot of nuance. It still has private servers up
And Gundam Breaker 3 where you had a huge reign of customization for your suit.
SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays was pretty good as well.
You're just some shitter playing those stinky PS2 games and Gundam Vs Gundam.
>SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays was pretty good as well.

Would rather play “pure trash” like Breaker 3 than OP’s idea of a good game.
Let me guess you’re mad that you’re never getting a Gundam FighterZ?
ExVS arcade is good
Seed Destiny game on PS2 was good
G Gen Cross Rays is pretty good
Breaker 3 is also quite enjoyable
Musou Gundams is alright
OP got filtered by Scad Hammers
Armored Core was off-brand Gundam game, but good since day 1.
Brand loyalty is brain cancer.
I care about gundam only because of the games
They are just ads for the toys.
just like the animes then?
Battlefield Record 0081
Gundam Breakers 3
Gundam Musou 1-4
Gundam Crossfire (I'm not fricking joking)
