This game is a shameless asset flip, my guess is every single asset is store bought. The narrator is also text-to-speech. The definition of low effort yet streamers eat it up because "lol you fall and lose 3 hours of progress".
Looking into it, this seems like a shameless ripoff of Getting Over It, which was only ever interesting because it was unique. This shit really is just streamer bait.
And then they have the "oh oh Streamer, you need to turn off the stream here, this ending is le secret"-shit going on to convince stream watchers to buy and play the game themselves.
Good indies has a longevity of sticking around while FOTW indies takes itself out. I've seen a few streamers I follow play that slop and I question why.
This game only has 2k Steam reviews.
Which is not horrible since there are plenty of indie games on Steam that have <100 reviews, but that's still pretty small given how big the game is on Twitch and YouTube.
The vast vast majority of people are only interested in watching it, they would never even think about playing it themselves.
Again it's better than most indie games on Steam, there are literally thousands of games that never get any attention. But it's still way worse than indie titles that get any sort of legitimate traction. This ain't Hollow Knight, Celeste, Hotline Miami, Don't Starve, Cave Story, etc. People will forget about it the instant it stops being streamed.
The dev probably got a decent return on investment since the game was clearly cheaply made, in probably only a few months.
There's a frickton of indies and you only know about the ones popular with streamers because you are a SUBHUMAN TWITCH ADDICT, STOP WATCHING PEOPLE PLAYING GAMES YOU COULD BE PLAYING INSTEAD homosexual
Playing games takes effort.
I can just watch my favourite eceleb do it for me while I donate my wagecuck money and pretend I have friends for more dopamine.
What game homosexual?
the one Jerma is playing
lmao
Unreal Engine has been a disaster for indie games
Looks fine to me.
That'll be 10 bucks + tax

Ah jerma, the famous person, very well known for things, and doings ,got it
You can stop pretending.
get help, anon
literally who?
what are you doing with your life?
Pretty funny how there's an entire genre of intentionally shitty streamerbait platformers now.
They are all designed to be watched and not played.
And then they have the "oh oh Streamer, you need to turn off the stream here, this ending is le secret"-shit going on to convince stream watchers to buy and play the game themselves.
I dunno but I'm deliberately trying to get my game banned from twitch because I hate streamers
this is how i've always felt about games like meat boy, celeste and pizza tower
Celeste was actually good and fun to play. Watching a streamer play it would be boring as frick.
Those are actual video games made by human hand designed to be played by actual humans (not stre*mers).
meat boy is not only better but it came out before the trash stream
justin tv was around in 2010, even boshy has a fricking kappa boss you fight in a streamer arena
I think he means it was before the "trash stream" of forgettable indies

>longevity
Games are meant to sell the most during the first 2 weeks.
After that you just get peanuts so it makes sense to pander to big streamers.

Your game getting streamed to 20K is huge big marketing.
People who wouldn't even know your game even existed.

Games are a product first.
Because it gets them clicks.
People like seeing streamers fall and get mad.

I like having NL on audio or second moni while working or playing games. You should try it sometime.
because it works
>mixed reviews
Not for long.
i'm sure the dev will wipe his tears with the tens of thousands he made off maybe $200 of unity assets
