I've got literally hundreds of free games in my epic library, and I've even bought a few when they were on really good sales (steeper than Steam's lowest price) + I had an epic coupon, but I still just don't care about my EGS account and still use Steam for 99% of things because that's just where all my "real" stuff is. the only instance of something similar to this that ive seen was monster hunter world offering the high res texture pack as a free DLC instead of putting it into the base game. the textures alone are like 40GB or something while the game itself is already 50GB.

They've ruined my country, they ruin my games, and they're only good for producing garbage knockoffs of quality products and buying out once good companies and turning them into trash (Starret for example)
Steam works well so I use it, despite the problems it initially had when it launched that have now been resolved or are otherwise a total non issue (nobody is trying to buy Valve's 20 year old games physically anymore)
GoG provides me a nice niche steam doesn't, so I use that
I briefly kept up with Epic for the free stuff and to play fortnite with my family, but I found myself never touching the free stuff and my kid stopped playing it
I've even used stuff like itch.io to find weird indie stuff from solo devs who can't put it on other platforms
Maybe in 20 years Epic will be worth picking up but I can't see myself playing video games seriously in my 50's
