Why do they have time travel, alternate universes, teleporters, magic, ESP, ghosts, supervillains, and all that other stuff? Because Pokémon is an ADHD kitchen sink setting that just runs with whatever will capture kids' imagination and that's based.
GF really likes space and space-relayed things.
Hell, I'm pretty sure if they got the chance, they'd make a Pokémon game that primarily takes place in space.
Masuda fricked up in Gen 4 by making literal Pokejesus and the gods of space and time. Instead of developing an entire pantheon and keeping the head honcho ambiguous the same way they did with the original dragon, they blew their load early on a plotline with identical story beats to RSE, so now we can only get ayylmaos from alternate universes or from space.
This is the first time seeing someone agree with my take. It's nice knowing the limits but you can tell they regret making god from the bible this early
What gets me is that it took PLA for them to actually do something with Arceus that made it "worthy" of its lore but honestly even then you could very easily sub Arceus out with any mythical the way the movies do with Ash and nothing changes. DPPt's plotline was not in depth enough to justify making the gods of space and time, especially with how story centric the games are now.
The fact that Kyurem was from space, Eternatus was from space, Necrozma was from "space", and now Terapagos also crash landed from a meteor (or something?) gives me the strong impression that GF realized they fricked up and have to keep leaning on "it came from another world" to make things that match or even exceed Arceus' power level. I hope they just retcon Arecus at this point since they clearly want to (or have to) keep making more legendaries, and since they're never gonna stop making them central to the plot, they need to keep giving them insane powerlevels, having to adhere to the Arceus lore is just gonna frick them up more and more in the future, OR just keep giving us more ayys, I guess.
