Junpei is literally the best damage dealer throughout basically the whole fricking game. Do you seriously think yukari isn’t worth benching the moment you get mitsuru? She gets mediarama at fricking level 40 and all she does is fricking garu until then. Junpei hits four weaknesses and does actual damage compared to akihiko or even mitsuru for almost the entire game, koromaru and ken outdps him literally only for the 4th block.

Junpei is a good character and miles above Yosuke/Ryuji in terms of growth. He also survived Yukaris banter and went off to find a girlfriend. Nothing but props to the guy.
He's not, the usual opinion i hear around is that he's the least offensive impulsive/comic relief between 3/4/5. Though personally, i didn't take offense in any of them. Junpei had a decent tragic story bit about growing up, Ryuji was just a soft ball of pleasant high-impact happiness through and through, Teddie was least appealing one both in terms of comic relief content and self-development through story, but he's also forgiven because his alice cosplay was spot on. But maybe it's just me finding it difficult to dislike characters in games
