He has a bad back so if anon is a big guy he probably could. The real question is, does he inherit Mike's karma and become the new standard of peak physicality. I know Mike's been KO'd but it's contended he won that fight. He never lost fair (I think).
Everyone he's ever fought prefessionally had to tie him up and hold his head to stop him from hitting, which should not have been allowed by the refs. Only one opponent was disqualified for it. Buster Douglas beat him fairly. Holyfield had to head butt and he got his ears bit for it. The later fights after he got out of prison were Tyson trying to collect a paycheck. He said he lost his love for the sport long ago. He was a great fighter and always showed respect for his opponents except for holyfield who didn't deserve it.
My money is that tyson would kill anon in 1 hit. Literally break his spine because anon would not know how to go with the punch. Think Rock em Sock em robots, but I'm not entirely sure anon's head would even stay attached.

Weird conspiracy theory posts. Mike lost all of his fights fair and square. Right after the Michael Spinks fight, Mike's ego got too big, he lost his discipline, changed his trainer, started partying too much, and completely dropped his peekaboo style for a much less demanding headhunter style, figuring that he was good enough that he could still win while having to train half as hard. He couldn't.
Just go watch any fight before Spinks and any fight after. In the pre Spinks fights Mike never stops moving. Post Spinks he looks like he's walking on lead feet, and his head stays still.
i think mikes biggest issue was that he was just so good at going up there and fricking annihilating his opponent in like 1 or 2 punches that he probably just thought he was untouchable
perhaps if he had lost some fights earlier on he wouldnt have gotten too big for his britches
He didn’t think he was untouchable. He had to fight in the style because he was always undersized and had less reach then literally every Heavyweight on the planet. He was never a true heavyweight. Dudes a ballooned middleweight
Lots of middleweights did. Hearns, Haggler, recently GGG.

No doubt about it, Mike was an icon. It’s amazing that he had the success that he did but when you look back in retrospect his losses are not as unbelievable as they appeared to be at the time dude to his small stature compared his opponents. He was always undersized. Absolutely dwarfed by Riddick Bowe for example

>HEY! Is this kid a joke? Where's the real challenger?
i saw the clip
mike showed a great deal of restraint in not literally murdering the little shit. proud of him.
old mike wouldve absolutely been on trial for murder
I also got the retroachievement of the week to play this game. I stopped after the achievement though, it took me two days to become good enough to TKO bald bull without save states.
I find that Macho Man Randy Savage is 10 times harder than Mr.Sandman. And I find Tyson 10 times the difficulty of Savage.
I.E. i find Tyson 100 times as difficult as Mr.Sandman
Mr. Sandman had been my filter for something like a decade or more until earlier this year, when I sat down one day, determined to once and for all figure out his pattern and beat him, until I finally did. I went on to fight Super Macho Man right afterwards, and I had very little trouble with him. Now there's only the big Mike himself, and I'm getting my shit pushed on.
If I'm in a good groove I can zip up to sandman but I've never beat him. Shame the punch out series has less interest from Nintendo than f zero. I guess punching is too violent now?
They bought his rights for cheap when he was still an up and coming boxer. By the time came to renew, it would have cost too much to keep the rights to his likeness.
Why is he so easy? I can literally KO him without trying.
>Mike Tyson >Easy
Bullshit. Ive beat him without passwords over a dozen times, yes the first 90 seconds are the hardest part, but, its no picnic fighting during "the second phase" of the battle exactly either of course. True to Mike's irl fighting style tho. in the 80s he was known for exerting almost of all of his energy in Round 1, exhausting himself for the remaining 11 rounds
Round 3 is a pain in the ass, all tactics go out the window bc so many RNGs means you have no way of anticipating how much time until Mike throws the next punch or which type of punch he'll throw next. 1st 90 seconds of round 1 are a nightmare. Opening 30 seconds of Round 2 is tricky scoring those Jackie Chan jabs
Hardest boss on the NES, way harder in the 90s, bc hes only NES boss I needed "cheat" by studying written&video guides (such as /ourguy/ Mike Matei that fricking Modern Day Folk Hero). The Dream Bout is easier on my NES controller than my Wiimotes/Portable Nintendo Controllers. When I have to beat this game on Switch, I feel like the Jedi tasked with slaying Darth Vader on the day I forgot to bring my lightsaber to work
The thing is you havent beat the game unless you do so without passwords. The difference between the ease of scoring casual free-throws during basketball practice VS scoring free-throws during a heated NBA Championship Match. Beating the first 13 boxers before fighting Mike Tyson in The Dream Bout places way more pressure on the player knowing that there are no continues to skip back instantly
I felt incentivized to master this game after Moderna killed my dad. Being a boomer, he wasn't much of a gamer, but he fricking absolutely loved Star Fox 64 and NES Punchout for some reason. Felt obligated to beat MTPO for him as my personal journey to honor his passing, maybe even make my old man proud if he is "watching" idk. Sometimes when I'm fighting Mike Tyson I pretend I'm fighting Fauci in his secret "super saiyian" form, for a sense of revenge
>in the 80s he was known for exerting almost of all of his energy in Round 1, exhausting himself for the remaining 11 rounds
Not even accurate. Do your homework and go watch some fights.
In the 80s, Tyson knocked out most of his opponents before the one minute mark. A few of his fights went 4 rounds. He said he wanted to challenge himself to see if he could stay in a fight for 10 or 12 rounds and he did many times throughout his career. Sometimes taking a huge amount of punishment and still not going down. He had some issues where he would freeze up and not work the body which lead to some losses, but lasting 12 rounds was not one of them. His career was impressive and the end of it was sad. You should spend some time to watch him fight and see how he was treated and how he handled himself. It will give you a much different view of the man than what most people gather from the media.
I started playing MTPO in 2018 and have been practicing on and off sense. I’m one of the very few people who got the perfect 23-0 (23KO) record. For those of you who don’t know, if you reset after you finish the game, and then do Another World Circuit, the hidden mode, you can get your final record up to what was intended. Not even Summoning homosexual Salt has done so. I’ve KO’d Tyson and nearly can TKO him in Round 1. >Glass Joe
Used to kick my ass when I was a kid, I can never properly KO him because “buffering” is bullshit but the TKOs are easy due to him always getting up on the 1 count. Frick you Summoning Salt the 42 second world record on him is not a “trivial” record, stop banning people for saying they hate gays. >Von Kaiser
Another easy fight, getting him to punch and then getting a star in his stomach is easy. You have to hit him after countering and when you use a star punch, he always goes down. >Piston Honda 1
First fight I originally lost to, his Honda Rush is difficult but if you block, then counter, you can score up to 4 punches for each counter. Easy to grind stars on, also 1 count knockdown. >Don Flamenco 1
You can either get a star at the very beginning or alternate punches, but as long as you don’t get hit, you can KO him within 40 seconds. >King Hippo
Another fight that original was difficult to get the hang of, but once you know it’s when his mouth opens, there’s no problems here. >Great Tiger
He gave me a lot of trouble too, due to not knowing how to get stars. However, if you have him punch, then time a counter on his stomach, you can get a star. Also, each time he does an uppercut, if you counter with the opposite punch in his stomach, it’s more stars. You can beat him consistently in under 1 minute.
>Bald Bull 1
I find him harder than 2. Timing the Bull Charge was pretty difficult due to being only a 4 frame window. However, he is plentiful with stars with his hooks and rolling jabs. You can easily score a knockdown in under 20 seconds because of counter punching. >Piston Honda II
I lost a few times and can sometimes have Bas luck, but if you knock him down from his Honda Rush, he won’t get up as long as you haven’t taken damage. >Soda Popinski
Was the first truly hard fighter in the game. Being the only South Paw and having so little hearts on the fight made it very difficult to time. However, he has the easiest knockdown star strategy, after his hooks block, then punch in the stomach for a star, then dodge and use it. He goes down without trying. >Bald Bull II
I don’t remember much but he’s easier than 1 due to the guaranteed stars, >Don Flamenco II
This fairy homosexual used to constantly ruin my game and also was so bad I could only win via Decision. He fricking sucks. Counteracting his punches for stars is a pain but as long as you rapid punch, you can get a Round 2 TKO. >Mr. Sandman
No idea why he’s seen as so hard. His punches and stomach timings are difficult to get the hang of, but he’s easy in Round 2 due to the Dreamland Express being a slow dodge. His fight could’ve been more interesting though, you have to throw the punches and then counter yourself. >Super Macho Man
Run ender, I still struggle with him sometimes due to his 1 hit knockdowns. He fricking sucks to get stars on/use due to his high HP defense, but pros can use guard manipulation and make the fight look easy. To me, his pattern is the hardest to time. >Mike Tyson/Mr. Dream
I never understood the reason why he comes last after you win the World Circuit Title, I guess he’s the unification bout? Tyson was fricking hard the first couple times but if you can survive the first 1:30 in around 1 and his special neo Honda-Rush, you are fine.
KO is possible if at full HP
>I never understood the reason why he comes last after you win the World Circuit Title
Because he was added in later for the US release. The original game in Japan ended at Super Macho Man.
Can you do that irl though?
He has a bad back so if anon is a big guy he probably could. The real question is, does he inherit Mike's karma and become the new standard of peak physicality. I know Mike's been KO'd but it's contended he won that fight. He never lost fair (I think).

If your American, try blasting Guile's theme while you fight.
If you're from Egypt or one of those shithole countries or something, idk man, good fricking luck. At least you can say you can make it up to Tyson.
If I'm in a good groove I can zip up to sandman but I've never beat him. Shame the punch out series has less interest from Nintendo than f zero. I guess punching is too violent now?
What else can they do with the series? There is no room for growth. You can't just make the same game over and over again, stagnation is death.
they already reached the peak with the wii game, not much else to make other than a similar game with the super punch out and arcade boxers.
I still can't believe the racists at Nintendo canceled Big Mike and replaced him with Mister Dream.
nintendo would have to pay out royalties or whatever the contract was
not neccissarily racist
They bought his rights for cheap when he was still an up and coming boxer. By the time came to renew, it would have cost too much to keep the rights to his likeness.
The challenge is all in surviving the first 1:30. Once you're past that, if you're good enough to beat Sandman, Mike is no problem
>Mike Tyson
