Cite your evidence for that assertion, since I have not seen any establilshed rules for what she can/cannot do. A lot depends on just where things are taking place, some believe the final battle takes place in Clouds mind, others in the Lifestream itself. Could be both (Cloud's memories in the lifestream), depending on just where on the timeline the Remake project sits.

you realize that everytime you have seen Sephiroth in the Remake project so far is either as a vision, as a shapechanged chunk of Jenova, or in the lifestream? The final battle really does not take place anywhere physical.
the major evidence to me that Saved Aerith is in the ending cutscene is her dialog while praying and her appearence. She states that she has no idea what to do or how to do it and is beseeching the Planet for help, and she still has her ribbon in her hair since it was not knocked loose from Sephiroth's strike. Aerith in the ending cutscene still has her ribbon in her hair, and says she will continue to pray to stop the meteor, which implies she has no idea still what Holy is or how to activate it (or if its activated or not). The rift Cloud sees in the ending cutscene exists in Saved Aerith's world, as the "blessing" Sephiroth gave him allows him to perceive/act across multiple versions of himself at once (as Sephiroth does). The rift exists because either Holy has not been activated in Saved Aerith's world and/or she did not die, since lore exists that establishes she is the one that invokes the lifestream at the end of FF7 to bolster Holy in deflecting Meteor.
They ended Rebirth so ambiguously that they can literally do anything and it's annoying. They do this on purpose to monitor reactions to the game and adapt the story based on criticisms. It's so soulless

to add to this, FF7/Lifestream Aerith is the one the tells Cloud its ok in his arms (the clue to her presence is the lifestream wisps around her), confronts Sephiroth before the Demon Gate in the Temple of the Ancients (by superimposing herself on Remake Aerith), appeared in Cloud's visions in the Forest, and woke him up/gave the White Materia to him in the Chihuahua world. The Remake project takes place "after" FF7, and either before or after Advent Children, which establishes Aerith and Spehiroth are battling each other in the Lifestream.

because there are a finite amount of worlds, and they are only created when fate is altered. His plan is to unite them all to enhance the amount of juice he gets from Meteor striking the Planet. So just going to a world where he wins is not enough.

So they let Cait sacrifice his body, then Cloud beat up Aeris and took the Materia and handed it to Sephiroth, causing Aeris to strike out on her own and the party had to track her down in the Forgotten Capital?

Sure you can change fate, but it simply results in a new world where the fate is changed. You cannot change fate in the prior world, Sephiroth seems to imply every alternate world gets absorbed back into the lifestream at one point or another, some enduring longer than others.

Its implied there is if you put bits of dialog together, the prime world would be the one where fate occurs as the Planet intends (i.e. the world where OG FF7 happens).
My thought is when FF7 Remake ended you essentially left the prime timeline and are on a different one. It's Nomura's way of ensuring the main game still matter while doing something new
Remake timeline is not the prime timeline, there are sufficient differences from them that go beyond the remake/reimagining aspect. Sephiroth appears too soon (in the opening movie), so the Remake timeline is like the other timelines you see him in at the end (at the Church), the difference being that the Remake timeline is going mostly to plan. The Remke timeline will disappear at the end of Part 3.

People joke about Sora, but him being some sort of lifetream born love child of Cloud and Aerith makes perfect sense in regards to Kingdom Hearts. Its probably the ace in the hole Nomura had during development of the Remake project, telling Nojima and company "Do whatever, but at the end Sora will appear and we lead into KH4".
They should just have Jack show up. He's basically the Final Fantasy time line police at this point so everything Sephiroth is doing should be activating alarms for him

1 - 1 remakes are boring. I hate remakes but I would prefer it like this or at least what Capcom does and adds a lot of new areas. Like I love MGS but the MGS 3 remake sounds so fricking boring since it's a 1 - 1 remake. Same with Silent Hill 2.
