Anyone who calls themselves a souls veteran is a loser that has no concept of time and don’t understand people can play the other games. No one cares that you played berserk the game the 7th time dumbass consuming Black person
It feels janky and the base game is pretty bad. Development was a mess and Tanimura had to cobble together random pieces in order to hit the deadline. Really fun DLCs though
Ivory King was my least favorite of the 3 but it feels like it is a lot of people’s favorite. I didn’t like Eleum Loyce that much and I found freeing the knights for Ivory King to be bad padding.
>that splashing water sound effect when hitting enemies with a weapon.
The DLC invaders were pretty fricking neat. I don't think I've seen them have that much intelligence and personality. In other games.
The Jester that would emote mid combat and the one that larps as a white phatom.
You do know zoomers played black ops 1 dark souls and Minecraft right on the Xbox or ps3
Please don’t breed and just off yourself you useless fricking number that brags about being at GameStop moron
Because back then, it was expected that a sequel would be in the vein of Dark Souls 1 but improved upon. DaS2 feels like 1s predecessor in every regard, even graphically. It's a step back in every way except for some QoL and minor gameplay elements. The sequels then continued straying even further from Dark Souls 1, abandoning the focus on exploring hostile atmospheric nonlinear worlds with relatively grounded combat in favor of straight lines with areas serving as lazy filler between overblown obnoxious boss fights. Dark Souls 2 was a tremendous disappointment after DeS and DaS1, but 3 was even worse.
>despite being the first PROPER sequel (rather than a spiritual successor or new IP) they decided to completely ignore almost every bit of lore from the first game (why are giants now faceless stone creatures from across the ocean? why are the boss souls "reincarnating" as completely different people with completely different motivations? why is hollowing now about how many times you die instead of being about losing your mental fortitude from despair? etc) >change the way gravity/falling damage works >enemy encounters designed around "how many enemies can we fit in this room?" because making actually challenging single enemies is too difficult for them >every single animation slowed to a crawl, your player drinks estus like he is 100 years old and has parkinsons >worst bosses in the series (old iron king, covetous demon, freja, royal rat authority AND vanguard, lost sinner, etc etc ect it just keeps fricking going) >worst DLC in the series with 1/3 of each area lazily designed for co-op by adding EVEN MORE ENEMIES than before, instead of doing something like making new enemies or tighter encounters
I can keep going, but DS2 is a fricking mess compared to the rest of the series, especially in regards to the first point. Going from DeS to DS1 made sense because of licensing reasons, they literally couldn't make a sequel so they had to change things and set it in a different world, but DS2 was the first ACTUAL fricking sequel, but the director is so fricking inept at his job that he didn't know how to do a sequel, so he just did the same thing Miyazaki did before and made a completely unconnected world, with the only indication that it's the same universe being hastily thrown in references
the only people who think DS2 is the best are people who started with it, because they think that's how the series was always supposed to be and think the other games are weird for not being more like DS2
I actually like that they put lots of enemies at once, only problem is when they put multiple big poise tanking guys with tons of health together. They do this in eld*n ring too which further encourages you to avoid everything.
because it fricking sucks

you're just mad because dark souls doesn't have any kinks or homosexualry in it you fat b***h
>half the fricking game wasn’t finished
>worst map layout in all 7 but YouTubers fricking love it when bloodborne did it better
Stay in your confusion consumer
because of SotFS, it ramped the diffuculty which was already a bit too high in some places.
No one liked the original version when it came out
it's too ez and it's not directed by miyazaki
It's ugly, every other explanation is cope
It feels janky and the base game is pretty bad. Development was a mess and Tanimura had to cobble together random pieces in order to hit the deadline. Really fun DLCs though
The levels just aren't fun and the aesthetic of DeS, DaS and 3 were better
The bosses were all pretty mediocre
Iron King and Frozen dlc were great though
Ivory King was my least favorite of the 3 but it feels like it is a lot of people’s favorite. I didn’t like Eleum Loyce that much and I found freeing the knights for Ivory King to be bad padding.

Because it actually punishes you for being bad at the game and making bad decisions
I don't hate it, I just don't enjoy it as much as the other games.
It's not. We liked it and hated DS3
It abandoned Demon's Souls principles. Thankfully DS3 was a return to form.
Zoomers obviously have no idea how big DkS2 was back in the day. They only played SotFS, so you can't really blame them that much.
You do know zoomers played black ops 1 dark souls and Minecraft right on the Xbox or ps3

every other release fromsoft doesn't even try and they've been doing it for 30 years
So which one was the one they didn’t try on: GOTY 2019 Sekiro or GOTY 2022 Elden Ring?
Elden ring is obviously an asset flip

the way gravity/falling damage works
Expound on this please?
>hated by veteran Souls players
BWAHAHAHAHA
It's only hated by casual scrubs because they can't dodge roll through every attack
