Of all gen 5 Pokemon, why is Chandelure so popular? It came third in that recent Japanese popularity poll and was the most popular Unova mon in the Google 2020 poll. What is the appeal of this thing? I don't even dislike objectmons but this is quite literally just a Chandelier with eyes on it.

Arcanine is a Shisa. This is very evident in Hisuian Arcanine

it sounds dumb but that makes it so cool. Especially at the time it stood out amongst every other fire type. Still does, i think the only other fire pokemon that aren't red/orange/ yellow is like alolan marowak? Another fire/ghost

People love pokemon with blue flames. Look at Emboar for instance. Normally, he's hated. However, it's shiny is pretty well received due to the blue flames.

For me back when gen 5 came out it was a mix of really liked the design due to the flame color(really fit the haunted vibe) and at the time prior to gen 5 there wasn't alot of great ghost multitype mons that weren't a trade evo like gengar
He is a fire/ghost that looks like a fire/ghost
It may be an objectmon but it looks very alive.
He is in the perfect balance in between edgy and cute.
