>bad game comes out >shameless attempts to shift focus by its brainwashed fanbase of contrarians EVERY DAY >it’s bad and you’re annoying >”lol trolled”
Its not though, its only the vocal minority of the mentally ill that think DS2 is a good game that say DS3 is bad
>DS3 thread >YEAH BUT DARK SOULS THOUGH
Everytime. No game has every mentally and anally raped a group of people so hard.
Dark Souls II had a troubled development and many assets were repurposed, moved around or removed entirely.
DSII started off under the direction of Tomohiro Shibuya. It was going to be even more open world. They got a lot done, but Bamco came down on them and forced them to scrap half the game. They put Yui Tanimura in charge who had to pick up the pieces 6 months from launch. Bamco originally designated DS2 to be a PS4 game and then decided that nope, we're actually putting it on the PS3, which forced the downgrade. PS3 development was a nightmare back in those days due to the Cell. They learned their lesson with the PS4 though, PS5 and Series X are literally RDNA2 RX 6700 / 6700 XT and 8 core Zen 2 aka Ryzen 3700
>Tanimura: Yes, this game actually went through quite a troubled development process. Due to a number of factors we were actually forced to re-think the entire game midway into development. >Ideally we’d start again from scratch but of course we were under time constraints so instead we had to figure out how to repurpose the designs in our newly reimagined game. This meant everything from deciding new roles for characters to finding ways to slot locations into the world map. This unusual development cycle faced us with an entirely different set of problems and looking back on the project as a whole it was at times, arduous.

Poise is a big reason from a gameplay perspective and from a Lore perspective, it used a lot of recycled content and was nostalgia baiting with shit like Anor Londo. At least 2 tried to something different with the setting.
People who like boss fights love ds3 because they improved bosses a lot. People who like exploring hate ds3 because it's pretty linear for the most part.
This. I finished the main game in a couple days because the boss fights were fricking crack, I couldn't put the damn thing down.
But I don't feel much of an urge to replay it now that I'm done.
I'm going through the ringed city DLC and the areas themselves are very fun to explore, but again it's all linear, all runs will be the same.
Because it's everything wrong with Souls. >Linear as frick from the get go >Braindead roll spam >Absolute dog shit PvP, worst in the series by far. Only praised by fighting game rejects. >weapons do not feel unique at all >Hyper armor instead of passive poise, poise was literally "turned" off for a whole year. >member berries in a bad and lazy way
It's tied with DS2 for the worst game in the franchise. It just comes down to personal preference when discussing those two.
Anyone trying to say it's a contender for the best in the franchise is absolutely delusional or shitposting.
I hate it because it did nothing I wanted.
Oh this boss does this cool move? Okay, that's nice and all, but what do I get to do? R-rolling R1 again? Oh, you shouldn't have.
It's been three, four games. Surely, Miyazaki has learned how to balance tanky, heavy armored characters, given how poise worked in DaS1 was what people wanted but it was too effective, all they really have to do is make poise and defense trade offs separate from each other and never give you both at onc--neither? Really, neither? You get defenses from simply having armor equipped, period? Damage is so extreme that having negative multipliers is what most people choose to have? Oh gee thanks.
What kind of new, tragic heroes do you have for me this time, Miyazaki? Any characters I can summon and enjoy this journey with? Interesting quests with new resolutions? Who is this? This fricker is actually named "Siegward?" Holy shit frick off Miyazaki.
It's the most soulless Souls game you could think of. I would sooner touch Lords of the Fallen than DaS3. No I am not fricking joking. An amateur's misguided fumbling attempts at understanding is far more interesting than this absolute corporate cashgrab.
The only Souls game that truly deserves universal hate is DaS2. It's a good game but it is truly the one with the worst level design and enemy placement.
DaS3 is unoffensive. It doesn't risk too much and is polished in many aspects. You need to have some kind of special autism to consider your most hated souls.
how can it have the "best" bosses when the approach to them is so watered down from Bloodborne's combat? There are no mechanics to these bosses like Parrying in Sekiro, going aggro in Bloodborne to trade hits with the rally or work down their posture bar in elden ring with jump/guard counter/charged attacks.
It all boils down to attack.. roll... attack.. roll.. legitemately the most simpleton bosses in all of souls, even Dark Souls 1 and 2 have their own approaches because not everything is on crack speed leaving on roll spamming as your only viable option
what the frick is with these identical threads being made all the time
its not just the dark souls 3 is shit one theres a load of them that just get churned out all the time
what do you stand to gain
Because "long time Souls players" generally think Dark Souls 1 is the best game in the franchise. And Dark Souls 3 is the furthest thing from Dark Souls 1. Other than Sekiro, which gets a pass for basically being a different genre.
DeS, DS1, and DS2 share a overall design philosophy. It was perfected in DS1 and was executed poorly in DS2.
BB has a different design philosophy, making the game much more fast pace. making it weigh much more in the action game side rather than the RPG. And focusing on boss encounters instead of the mob encounters in the level design. But BB still had amazing world design and atmosphere. Something that's really important to DS1gays.
DS3 tried to blend that design into Dark Souls, but failed. None of the action mechanics feel as good as BB. None of the RPG mechanics feel as good DeS, DS1, or DS2. The world design is the worst in the franchise with completely unthreating mob encounters put in extremely linear levels in an extremely linear world.
Elden Ring is basically Open World DS3, but with a few mechanical changes changes that appeal to DS1gays. >The World is not linear, you can choose where to go at the very start >Passive poise is back >Every build you can make can be extremely overtuned and broken >Bosses are still rollfests, but atleast they punish you now if you mindlessly spam rolls due to having more delayed attacks that are designed to catch roll spammers. This encourages you to do more than just roll and R1. Like find broken ashes of war to abuse.
So, in the eyes of DS1gays, Every other game does things better than 3. And not just anything, things that DS1gays would value more than a BBgay, or a DS3gay, or a ERgay may value.
>Firelink Shrine is The Nexus. A hub system like Demon’s Souls. Fire Keeper (火防女) is literally the Maiden in black "黒衣の火防女", with 火防女 being the same word used for firekeepers in Dark Souls >Lothric Castle (DaS3) == Boletaria Castle (DeS). You start the game here, and the climax of the game is here (twin princes/false king allant), complete with red-eye knights. complete with dragons hanging around >The path to the Twin Princes is Boletaria's 1-1; path to the Phalanx. Red eye knights and blue eyes. Allant had two dragons, two dragons block the path in the dragon barracks. >Undead Settlement is Hemwick Charnel Lane >Oolacile became Darkroot Garden and then Farron Keep. Crystal Sage is Fool's idol >Catacombs of Carthus and Smouldering Lake are challice dungeons >Irithyll is Cainhurst Castle. Irithyll Dungeon is extremely reminiscent of Tower of Latria Prison of Hope >Compare Yuria with Karla: same set, literally same description of set , same raped/imprisoned story, same traits... they even have the same voice actress >Sister Friede and Alfather Lloyd has all the good parts of Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower, Ornstein & Smough, and Priscilla >Friede and Gael are Maria and Orphan >upgrade gems that work like Demon's Souls upgrade paths >The Ringed City serves as a call back to the reveal of Anor Londo. Halflight, Spear of the Church is Old Monk fight >Auto-revival (embering) after a boss (or helping as a phantom) >Final boss requires you to beat all the Demons/Lords of Cinder to fight the King Allant/Soul of Cinder >And the last boss is, quite literally, the chosen undead from DaS1 AND gwyn
It abandons demons souls principles for casualized one dimensional roll again and again...and again and again and again gameplay for kids. In Demons Souls your brain was your best tool to outsmart the enemies and overcome the puzzling mind bending bosses. Here it's your iframes. You aren't so much thinking like an adventurer as you are learning to hit the roll button at the right time. There's a reason it's seen as the worse entry among more grizzled souls veterans.
The direction of the game is so dumb. It’s supposed to be the post apocalypse, taking many and many years after ds1, when ds1 already felt like the post apocalypse. It doesn’t make sense

DeS I can forgive, they tried with the budget and time they had. DS2 was ordered by Bandai and DS3 was just Miyazaki collecting a quick pay check, not to say DS2/DS3 don't have some of that kino but you can tell the difference in quality comparing them to DS1, BB, Sekiro and Elden Ring.

I hate both. What now?
Nah I like both.
I've mostly seen DS3 hating from DS1 players myself.

Dark Souls 3 is the only souls game that I never touched again after my first playthrough.
I'm living in some clown world where we hate DS3 now and DS2 is the best one. What the frick happened to this place?
Nobody is saying that DS2 is the best one, however DS3 is the worst souls game.
You can critique both Anon

I genuinely liked DS3. I think all of em are good but personally i prefer DS3 over DS2
it's actually my favorite and I started with Demon's Souls. Probably because I really liked how fast it was and the fact I could do 1v4 pvp
DS2 and DS3 are the worst souls games.

You need a special kind of autism to replay the same exact thing and enjoy it.
DaS2 has the balls to be different and evolve.
DaS3 is AI generated.
I tried to replay it recently and beat gundyr then lost interest immediately.
Tried to replay DS1 and got to O&S before i lost interest.
BecauseGanker hate good game
For me its BB>ds3>ds1>demonsoul>eldenring>sekiro>ds2
Ds3 has the best bosses fromsoft ever created

How do we feel about Lies of P?
Too easy. Every mob can be beaten by bumrushing and getting the first hit in, staggering them so you can just R1 them for free.

It is not, you're a schizo. They're just contrarians homosexuals.
