>make everything goos: why is the game so kill oriented? the objectives dont matter >make everything bad: why am I not killing anything? it all comes down to holding objectives for 5 turns
I don't play games like this. Don't pieces like this constantly fall over at the slightest tap?
They seem like they'd be incredibly top heavy, unless the bases are weighted or something
They were super top heavy, especially metal minis, so they've increased the size of the bases. They then crept up the size of the models so it's the same thing. In a few years warhammer games will be played with dinnerplates so large that you win by occupying space so your opponent can't finish deployment.
Weapon ranges need to be halved at the very least. Longest range weapon that’s not some sniper character should be 30 inches . Bolters should be 18 inch weapons, pistols 3. There should be some chance for a melee unit to catch a retreating unit and stay in combat with it, melee focused units should have some way to tactically withdraw from a unit so they can move to other targets
Take out overwatch on movement and replace it with evade or advance from Heresy. Take out the restrictions on consolidation. Make heavy melee weapons high strength and damage.
>sir, should we shoot while those men are running at us? >of course not private. We have to let them run as far as they can before we fire. It's only sporting
Literally no it's not. If they're running, then it's their turn. If you get your way, you can only shoot them when they have stopped running and now it's your turn.
I would play another game or edition that would result in me having fun so im not a salty gay.
>why is shooting so bad in 7th?
>why is melee so bad in 8th?
>why is shooting so bad in 9th?
>why is melee so bad in 10th?
Tiresome
they just need to make both bad or make both good and stop fucking flip flopping around with it.
>make everything goos: why is the game so kill oriented? the objectives dont matter
>make everything bad: why am I not killing anything? it all comes down to holding objectives for 5 turns
there will always be something to complain
What if, and hear me out, this is a wild one...
What if they made it to where it's neither bad, nor good?

Total overhaul of the way it works.
Melee needs something to be worth a damn in a shooting focused game.

>theyre flying, see? Those transparent stands sure break immersion dont they?
I despise this trend so much. Just give them proper flight stands
those are fucking terrible, though
The design of the floating robot with stuff hanging clashes with the debris below. That's a bad mini silouette.
Yeah, I'm out of the loop with new models and instead of recognizing them as flying units I was wondering why their "legs" are so fucked up.
They gotta make sure that if something breaks on them it's expensive.
Charge is 2D6+M
Torrent weapons overwatch on 4+
That's it.
Take out overwatch on movement and replace it with evade or advance from Heresy. Take out the restrictions on consolidation. Make heavy melee weapons high strength and damage.
This. Its utterly retarded that in an edition where vehicle toughness went up, Concussion Mauls and Eviscerators went down.
Remove toughness
>Literally just run boys into everything and it dies
As it should be
Unironically, yes. Melee skill should influence your ability to fight other melee units. A gunline or a tank should be mostly a non contest.
You've made this thread already >
Drink bleach and die
Just take mark of khorne and spam dark pact. Kill everything with weight of attacks auto wounding on 5+ to hit. Kills shit regardless of toughness.
Ya OP just shut up and buy the models you fud. 10th edition is awesome. GW did an epic job.
Melee? Bad?
exceptions prove the rule anon, melee is bad. And custodes are the only good one
>How would you fix and balance it?
I wouldn't. No one uses melee weapons IRL for a reason. Shooting is superior and always will be.
>fix and balance it
Do we need to? The armies that are suffering rn are gunlines, melee armies are more middling with only 2 of the 11 armies at <45% being melee focused.
Remove Overwatch (or other ways where you shoot outside your turn).
>sir, should we shoot while those men are running at us?
>of course not private. We have to let them run as far as they can before we fire. It's only sporting
That’s called shooting in the shooting phase during your turn.
Literally no it's not. If they're running, then it's their turn. If you get your way, you can only shoot them when they have stopped running and now it's your turn.
Because dickheads don't use terrain.
The problem isn't melee being bad. It's everything else being more killy
