Why is nintendo not doing anything with Star Fox?

Why is nintendo not doing anything with Star Fox? They could literally just do a normal game without weird controls and branching paths like in command and it would sell.

At this point they could just make a dating sim for star fox and it would sell millions.

Blame Miyamoto. He's in charge of the IP and he sees no point in doing anything with Star Fox if he can't innovate on it.

      >Krystal
The beginning of the end of the franchise.

This. Ultimately it comes down to what part of Nintendo an IP is under. Star Fox is Miyamoto's baby and only a new release is given if he approves.

        >The beginning of the end of the franchise.
Yeah and not the fact that they ruined her game and Starfox by making it a fricking adventure game. The excuse died completely with DP's release, get something new.

Don't you see anon, they tried ro get new people with the DS title and they didn't like it! It's their fault not Nintendos!

        >Let communicate to all these new people that we want to continue this franchise by giving it 9 shit endings, most of which signify their interest in shooting the railshooter out of its misery.

Because its not particularly needed one way or the other. People don't go batshit insane for Star Fox in quite the way they do for, say, Metroid or Kirby.
Its clearly not a large priority for them, not to mention Star Fox is recognised more as the poster boy for Smelee tryhards and the ""Fiyaaah" fox from Smash".
Plus let's be real, the best thing that could happen for the series is for Miyamoto to have nothing to do with it and he has a weird attachment to it, I doubt he'd let a new game be made without his direction or oversight but the man has long since been the enemy of Nintendo series' that are trying to move forward.

We're now at the point where the former voice actors are becoming the characters they played.

Star Fox doesn't really have much hope of regaining any of its past glory as long as Miyamoto still has a say in anything related to it.

It wasn't that bad. It had some good ideas like personalized ships for every pilot. The soap opera bullshit story got hated on but it would get a pass in games like fire emblem

Just move on, the franchise is not popular nowadays, any revival would sell not more than 1 m copies and that is just from nostalgays or people who recognize Fox from Smash Bros.
Also the franchise sucks ass only 1 good game (64 was a retelling of the original and 2 wasn't released until two decades later)

They have maybe one more chance to actually make a good game. It's going to have to be given to a studio that actually gives a shit about it because Nintendo already pulled all their tricks for Zero and it didn't fricking work.

Another reason they attract no new fans. They just appeal to the old ones. They don't adapt it like they do the others and as a result the old fans take it upon themselves to keep the interest up, only in the worst ways possible. Nintendo touts their anti-piracy shilling and one of the lines they use is that they're known for "reviving and revitalizing their IP's". The more time that passes the more it gets corroded, I don't think they're gonna be scraping the rust off this one.
