Well, he's currently playing MSQ on his main too. The point of my post way above in the reply chain was that he did in fact play a bunch of FFXIV after his mother died. He stopped streaming for a couple of weeks and then solely played on his alt Twitch account for about a month, where he played XIV, WOW, and New World (lol) for idly. The claim that he just dropped XIV was never true. When he jumped on the Lost Ark train for viewers and did gambling streams, he mostly ONLY played that, though he did dailies for XIV on his alt still. Yes, he did take a long ass break from XIV, but he's back to it now. I don't care either way, but it just sounds like a bunch of WoW and XIV homosexuals arguing for supremacy here over a fricking Twitch streamer.

No, I'm saying he didn't just drop the game like you and others want to believe. He originally picked up XIV ONLY because he was so assblasted over WoW that he would try anything, even what he considered a weeby hypetrain game. He clearly did enjoy it back when he played it, but after a while, it obviously went into it being a job thing over fun. When his mother died, he couldn't "turn himself on" for his streams with the Asmongold persona, which is something he specifically says when he spent 2 months only on his alt account. Him immediately jumping to P2W easy streams like Lost ark didn't help, because it spoiled him into being lazier than he already is. He just sat back and did gambling streams with it's RNG upgrade systems for 90% of those streams. Putting any form of effort now is something he doesn't want to do, even for his WoW streams currently.

Forgot to add this: If you're asking my personal opinion, I do think it's pretty obvious he's not as into XIV as he was initially, but that's not the same as saying he stopped liking it or never did, which is what a lot of WoW players in this thread want to hear. It's just a casual game to him, which is what XIV players don't want to hear, but it's also not something he didn't enjoy. He just doesn't care for it as much as he did back with the Heavensword expansion. The current expansion being actual Japanese stuff that he considers super weeby doesn't help that case either. He appears to like Zenos because he embodies that "gigachad" shit he lanks to wank to, especially with him having massive pauldrons that WoW players love, but that's about it. The expansion itself is doing negatives because it's the exact opposite of his taste in story. ShadowBringers may have been a different story but that's a whole year off by his current pace.

That's exactly what I've been saying though. I'll still repeat myself that him doing that doesn't mean he never enjoyed XIV, which is something a lot of people in here are saying, going as far as saying he always hated the game. That's obviously not true. He chose XIV that time because he was going through WoW burnout and the current shit happening with Blizzard made it worse. It could have been any game at the time, it just happened to be XIV to make him feel better. He was high off New World for a little while too. Now that he's gone back to his original self, which is an egotistical person who won't even bath, he's doing exactly what we can agree he's doing; lazily chasing the current trend and ego points. The community was very isolated for a long time. Like Japan it developed in a bubble, and now that it has been cast into the spotlight, nobody knows what to do. They are desperate to seem "worthy" of the attention, but they are also autistic and make fools of themselves.

The msq is one if the most soul draining experiences i ever experienced and despite what gays say i doubt it gets better. I also doubt the story thats appluaded so much gets better or interesting, i was told heavensward was when writing got good but it was the same shit, Stockholm syndrome probably sets in at the 150 hour mark, poor souls.
Gameplay wise, every attack deals insignificant damage, so the skill is juggling buffs so you eventually do a lot more over the course of the fight but small damage to the health bar will never feel as good as say wow classic ele shammy critting deleting a on level mob instantly in a single spell.
Its an ugly game, bizzare people find the character mods attractive. Theirs no real artstlye to anything. Just ps3 era anime models stuck in environments that make them look out of place

Nobody watches prolonged XIV because the most appealing watchable content to the people who enjoy XIV is reactions. Streamers simply can't pull the numbers they did when going through MSQ because they cannot give their reaction to Haurchefant, Zenos, Amaurot, Elpis, and all the other little details more than once, and XIV viewers aren't interested in raiding prog or anything of the sort. They play a game with a damn good story, and they want to see other people's reaction, to the story.
Sure but have you SEEN what happens in it? It's a seven phase fight that tested people's ideas of how to even make progress because it looped endlessly if you were to just kill the dudes. Sure, the mechanics were hard, but the most interesting ones were hidden and it took dozens of parties bashing their heads against the wall in different areas to begin to figure them out. One of the better teams was too stubborn to try and save Haurchefant, for example. They didn't believe in it. It was exciting to see that it was not only an option, but fricking necessary to progress, to say nothing of the rest of it.
But then again, I'm an MMO newbie and it's my first time seeing a world first prog. What other high-end raids could compare?

Brute Justice was similar at the time, being a sort of proto ultimate fight, but it was before the streaming era really took off.
I would say case in point, this last ultimate prog was a spectacle unlike anything anybody has ever seen and it doesn't take being someone strictly interested in MMO raiding to enjoy the sensation of watching it, especially if the viewers were interested in the point of the game's story it involves.
I would say that, but has there really been nothing in WoW that comes close? No outlandish mechanics that were weird to figure out? I know WoW has never captured the storygay crowd so their hopes, expectations, and standards for stuff in that department are different. And I know that people have grilled WoW for being a series of glorified DPS and gear checks. I would feel bad for them if it were true and all the raiding people spend their time watching on Twitch is just somebody mashing buttons hard and hoping they have enough gear.
Wow doesn't really have weird mechanics, hell one of its mechanics that walled their pugs was just a triple wild charge. WoW raids are less mechanics based and more player based, with a lot of random targeted damage, debuffs to cleanse, adds to kite or position, and things that require you to hold or push DPS, and generally a lot of moving around nonstop. This makes tanking and healing more interesting than modern XIV but it also means fights are more samey and the mechanics are braindead. Also I'm really not a fan of the game forcing a role that does nothing but do damage to do less damage as a major mechanic in most raids, it's honestly way worse than healers being encouraged to heal as little as possible in XIV.
Unironically having ecelebs streaming your game means it's a normie centre not worth your time or money because it attracts millions of people for wrong reasons.
Worlo was 100 times better when it was an underground hobby that normies looked down on, with streamers being too awkward and too autistic to show their face.

I think people wrongly blame the game. Most of the streamers play through the story, offer little perspective or opinion or entertainment value apart from watching what happens, then realize that the journey is coming to a close and inevitably end up stalling more and more. It's either that or the same type of raid streams where they talk to their friends, not the chat. It's always like this, the story is entertaining, the the people streaming it yet they blame the game to deflect from the fact that they are just boring.
I definitely think it's not the most fun game to watch though. Watching high end prog is fun for a bit till they get stuck on a wall. Outside of that though a lot of the game is just doing the same dance as always.
At the end of the fight you face the Endsinger who will freeze you in place and kill you with an AOE that targets every party member, however if you spare el Rotador he will have followed you to the end of everything and spin the arena to have you dodge it if your party stood in the correct Fibbunacci spiral formation. He will provide additional DPS to fighting the Endsinger but you have to dodge his mechanics as well, though they are not strictly targeting you.

The biggest fail point of ff14 is Square Enix, for as shit as wow is they just bought an entire dev team to come work on wow in addition to what they already have. Square would never do that, they penny pinch too much.
No matter how popular the game gets they will underfund it, and so waste any potential they have to grow.
Te gameplay literally puts you sleep. Every quest is the same quest done the same way with new paint. Pvp is an unbalanced joke that's dominated by magic classes. Lalafels are moronic as frick looking and jarring in the game they make the story and game cringe as frick and hard to be taken seriously. The dungeons/raiders are braindead easy. The community is a gay parade and full of literal troony's and women who use the game as a chatroom while they glamour outfits to be the bawdtiest and play barbie. The worst and most boring MMORPG I have ever played and I've played them all. I'd rather play anything else.
That and his organization and FC are fully committed to generating player driven content. Asmongold could be doing similar shit if he'd get his head out of his ass.

Well, he's currently playing MSQ on his main too. The point of my post way above in the reply chain was that he did in fact play a bunch of FFXIV after his mother died. He stopped streaming for a couple of weeks and then solely played on his alt Twitch account for about a month, where he played XIV, WOW, and New World (lol) for idly. The claim that he just dropped XIV was never true. When he jumped on the Lost Ark train for viewers and did gambling streams, he mostly ONLY played that, though he did dailies for XIV on his alt still. Yes, he did take a long ass break from XIV, but he's back to it now. No, I'm saying he didn't just drop the game like you and others want to believe. He originally picked up XIV ONLY because he was so assblasted over WoW that he would try anything, even what he considered a weeby hypetrain game. He clearly did enjoy it back when he played it, but after a while, it obviously went into it being a job thing over fun. When his mother died, he couldn't "turn himself on" for his streams with the Asmongold persona, which is something he specifically says when he spent 2 months only on his alt account. Him immediately jumping to P2W easy streams like Lost ark didn't help, because it spoiled him into being lazier than he already is. He just sat back and did gambling streams with it's RNG upgrade systems for 90% of those streams. Putting any form of effort now is something he doesn't want to do, even for his WoW streams currently.
Forgot to add this: If you're asking my personal opinion, I do think it's pretty obvious he's not as into XIV as he was initially, but that's not the same as saying he stopped liking it or never did, which is what a lot of WoW players in this thread want to hear. It's just a casual game to him, which is what XIV players don't want to hear, but it's also not something he didn't enjoy. He just doesn't care for it as much as he did back with the Heavensword expansion. The current expansion being actual Japanese stuff that he considers super weeby doesn't help that case either. The msq is one if the most soul draining experiences i ever experienced and despite what gays say i doubt it gets better. I also doubt the story thats appluaded so much gets better or interesting, i was told heavensward was when writing got good but it was the same shit, Stockholm syndrome probably sets in at the 150 hour mark, poor souls.
Gameplay wise, every attack deals insignificant damage, so the skill is juggling buffs so you eventually do a lot more over the course of the fight but small damage to the health bar will never feel as good as say wow classic ele shammy critting deleting a on level mob instantly in a single spell.
Its an ugly game, bizzare people find the character mods attractive. Theirs no real artstlye to anything. Just ps3 era anime models stuck in environments that make them look out of place

Nobody watches prolonged XIV because the most appealing watchable content to the people who enjoy XIV is reactions. Streamers simply can't pull the numbers they did when going through MSQ because they cannot give their reaction to Haurchefant, Zenos, Amaurot, Elpis, and all the other little details more than once, and XIV viewers aren't interested in raiding prog or anything of the sort. They play a game with a damn good story, and they want to see other people's reaction, to the story.

Sure but have you SEEN what happens in it? It's a seven phase fight that tested people's ideas of how to even make progress because it looped endlessly if you were to just kill the dudes. Sure, the mechanics were hard, but the most interesting ones were hidden and it took dozens of parties bashing their heads against the wall in different areas to begin to figure them out. One of the better teams was too stubborn to try and save Haurchefant, for example. They didn't believe in it. It was exciting to see that it was not only an option, but fricking necessary to progress, to say nothing of the rest of it.
But then again, I'm an MMO newbie and it's my first time seeing a world first prog. What other high-end raids could compare?
Nothing compares, DSR was unironically the peak.
Brute Justice was similar at the time, being a sort of proto ultimate fight, but it was before the streaming era really took off.
I would say case in point, this last ultimate prog was a spectacle unlike anything anybody has ever seen and it doesn't take being someone strictly interested in MMO raiding to enjoy the sensation of watching it, especially if the viewers were interested in the point of the game's story it involves.
I would say that, but has there really been nothing in WoW that comes close? No outlandish mechanics that were weird to figure out? I know WoW has never captured the storygay crowd so their hopes, expectations, and standards for stuff in that department are different. And I know that people have grilled WoW for being a series of glorified DPS and gear checks. I would feel bad for them if it were true and all the raiding people spend their time watching on Twitch is just somebody mashing buttons hard and hoping they have enough gear.
Wow doesn't really have weird mechanics, hell one of its mechanics that walled their pugs was just a triple wild charge. WoW raids are less mechanics based and more player based, with a lot of random targeted damage, debuffs to cleanse, adds to kite or position, and things that require you to hold or push DPS, and generally a lot of moving around nonstop. This makes tanking and healing more interesting than modern XIV but it also means fights are more samey and the mechanics are braindead. Also I'm really not a fan of the game forcing a role that does nothing but do damage to do less damage as a major mechanic in most raids, it's honestly way worse than healers being encouraged to heal as little as possible in XIV.

I think people wrongly blame the game. Most of the streamers play through the story, offer little perspective or opinion or entertainment value apart from watching what happens, then realize that the journey is coming to a close and inevitably end up stalling more and more. It's either that or the same type of raid streams where they talk to their friends, not the chat. It's always like this, the story is entertaining, the the people streaming it yet they blame the game to deflect from the fact that they are just boring.
I definitely think it's not the most fun game to watch though. Watching high end prog is fun for a bit till they get stuck on a wall. Outside of that though a lot of the game is just doing the same dance as always.

At the end of the fight you face the Endsinger who will freeze you in place and kill you with an AOE that targets every party member, however if you spare el Rotador he will have followed you to the end of everything and spin the arena to have you dodge it if your party stood in the correct Fibbunacci spiral formation. He will provide additional DPS to fighting the Endsinger but you have to dodge his mechanics as well, though they are not strictly targeting you.

The community is a gay parade and full of literal troony's and women who use the game as a chatroom while they glamour outfits to be the bawdtiest and play barbie. Pretty sure most Ultimate raiders would be ok with a difficulty closer to TEA . From what I have seen at least, people think DSR is a bit too hard.
The weapons just look like utter shit and arent worth the grind. Phase 1 of the fight is extremely pointless as well and feels like a chore to clear to actually start the fight. Length of the fight is also a problem. No one wanted UCOB levels of time investment again for a single pull.
