Because everyone will always feel like the world was better x amount of years ago.
I feel like in our case that's true
nah you are just getting old
You’re just too young to notice yet
IDK man, economically wise and public sexual degeneracy wise yes, but we live in the fricking easiest time.
I'm a bottom feeder wagie working for starbucks and I'm able to do 0 cooking, hire a cleaner and spend all of my free time with friends and gaming and little else.
Couldn't do this shit 20 years ago and survive/be able to own nice things.
>I'm a bottom feeder wagie working for starbucks and I'm able to do 0 cooking, hire a cleaner and spend all of my free time with friends and gaming and little else.
But are you happier for it?
The world is worse now than even 20 years ago specifically because we get all of these amenities but we're less free than ever to use them. We rent most of the things we need to survive, the things we need to survive change and become more expensive by the day, and hiring a cleaner to do cooking used to be called a 'wife'.
You are less happier because you are less free in general. You may have more gadgets but those gadgets are used to trap you.
I'd say I'm pretty happy, all I want is my best friends and my vidya and to be able to go out hunting or drinking or whatever with them.
Most of the unhappy people I've met seem to be lacking in the social department/no hobbies or chasing stupid material bs that has no value like old cars or wanting a giant empty ass house and the like.
>I'd say I'm pretty happy,
Then that's all that matters, anon. You're doing your part.
easier doesn't mean better, our lives are completely meaningless and we have almost no agency. We're having the highest suicide numbers ever.
also you're lucky you're earning well, most people barely have enough to pay for their home
Do you live in a 1 room shack that you pay huge rent on coz you gave up on the idea you’ll ever own a real house?
>I feel like in our case that's true
That is literally what every single generation feels. You are not unique, you are not special. You are just another cranky old man bitter about his lost youth.
Except we're right this time, lil' zoom.
That is what every generation says. Years from now, today's zoomers will be tomorrow's old men pining for the glory days. They will fondly look back on the games you deride as trash. This is a cycle that has been going on for millennia, and will continue for as long as humanity exists. It's just how we're wired.
>That is what every generation says.
Every generation living in it's best times doesn't have problems like we do. The problems we face is much more reminiscent of the fall of the Soviet Union. And yes, state media in the soviet union said literally exactly the same thing you did to banks collapsing, people getting fired, and food becoming scarce.
>banks collapsing, people getting fired, and food becoming scarce.
Are you implying that's happening right now?
yes, and add 2 wars on top of that
It's happening in a lot of countries due to inflation and lack of proper fulltime jobs. The system is getting stuck and the poorest people will face the worst of it because a high percetange of them can't reach the middle-class anymore even if they wanted to and have to earn scraps by working several parttime jobs to survive. We also have several highpaying "jobs" now that are completely worthless to the society. There's already several tiktok influencers and onlyfans type of people who are millionaires by contributing absolutely nothing to anyone.
Suicide rates are going up in every country because of this because it's a lot harder to get up and have a proper career or a life.
k zigger. your beloved vatnik union imploded as it was inherently disfunctional. whats your cope about the western world about? le usd collapse because of epic brics dollar store marvel avengers lmao
> as it was inherently disfunctional
and we're not? lmao
>That is literally what every single generation feels
Patently untrue. The Baby Boomer generation legitimately enjoyed their adulthood which could be seen by their standard of living at the time and Gen X's childhood at the time.
We're simply watching our standards of living fall below the rate where people wouldn't complain about it.
I feel zoomers are way more cynical than they used to be, too. I was no where near this bitter and projecting when I was a kid.
>That is literally what every single generation feels.
Every gen complains about the loss of morals and values, but none of them complained about their kids having an easier, comfier life.
We're the first generation to witness a loss in quality of life, that's a significant difference.
This is literally the first incel generation in the history of mankind lmao
Only moronic zoomers say otherwise since they are fricked no matter what they say
Boomer money.
>devs grow up on 90s games
>devs trying to bring back the 90s games
Where was the Spacewar revival?
90s was when video games became really popular, spacewar was obscure game played by scientists
Games are shit but people think it's because of graphics, so they make games with both shit graphics AND shit gameplay.
Harkens back to a time when computers were new and cool and the internet wasn't flooded with obnoxious brown subhumans that get off on posting the same fricking topics every god damn day
We live in the age of decline, people have no good ideas anymore so recycling is all they can do.
when are we getting the jrpg nostalgia games?
what game
gorbino's quest
They had the golden opportunity of releasing cruelty squad for the switch and making gorbino's quest an exclusive minigame there that conceptually mocks you for having a switch.
Ion Fury DLC, with futa protagonist Shelly Harrison.
i miss ATI ruby
>so rampant
You bought a game literally made on the Build engine
Did you expect it not to be nostalgiabait?
https://twitter.com/L1nko64/status/1709301836119712245
First build game?
https://www.blood-wiki.org/index.php/References_in_Blood
Pop culture references are literally half of the point of the big 3 build engine games, which Ion Fury is obviously riffing on. My only problem with it is that it's less focused than Duke (Action movie references), Shadow Warrior (Kung Fu and anime references) and Blood (horror genre references). Ion Fury doesn't really have a theme for its references, maybe it's slightly more weighted towards cyberpunky ones or something.
Ion Fury's references used to be action game references instead of specifically action movie.
At least it used to be before they got cold feet and now they just throw in whatever.
>A little tiny sprite caused so much asspain and seething
Why are gays so sensitive
Because we have to go back.
Nostalgia is particularly strong in this generation because the massive spike in recorded media happened in the 80s and 90s. Guess what age most people creating new media are today.
>Guess what age most people creating new media are today.
80 to 90?
add that to how culture shifted so fast, in older times people's lives didn't change that much with time, but the 80s, 90s and 20s are like a completely different world for us
This. Look no further than zoomers who are outright copying 90s and 2000s aesthetics.
I blame 90's and 00's copycats on the 20's not really having an aesthetic so far other than being a depressed, broke loser.
I think we were too harsh on the 10s, at least it felt like a unique definitive era. Hipsters and streetware. The 20s so far has legitimately just been regurgitating the past wholesale.
That's always been the case.
We're just old enough now to have it be more obvious.
I used to understand happy, I know that I used to be happy, I was really happy. I'm unhappy now and I can't remember what it's like to be happy I only remember... I don't remember. I remember being happy only in comparison to not being happy which is what I am now.
because people like nostalgia, any more dumb questions OP?
because people who made iconic games of the past are either retired or were driven off from companies they've created and were replaced by "people" that are utterly creatively bankrupt
MANDATORY
SENSETIVITY
TRAINING
zoomers are going to be nostalgic over what fortnite skins they had because that live service shit will be long dead
Holy shit I can remember the exact boxes they are referencing. My poor gay ATI card I got as a teenager came in one like the one on the right.
>16X AGP
Making AA and AAA games with modern hardware in mind is constantly getting more and more expensive, so it makes little sense to take risks with new IPs unless they can be pitched as certified million sellers.
Well, anon, I'll just give you an example
