Jesus Christ, Last of Us 2 is just a 70's grindhouse revenge movie with zombies. Why did everyone go apeshit over it? Spec-Ops the Line does it better, AND it incorporates your dude going crazy into the gameplay, which is the point of a fricking VIDEO GAME. Telling a story isn't as important as making one that the player actually interacts with. Even if the choices were fake to the player it still provided something that made us think about our actions instead of making us watch a fricking movie in between shooting sections. The actions of the character in Last of Us murdering people to in the cutscenes thinking violence is wrong and not killing the b***h that murdered her adoptive father is such a fricking HUGE disconnect between gameplay and plot. SNOY paid for all the hype and normies had only that shit to play on their shitty consoles and that's why it blew up as big as it did. It's why for example Last of Us is so overrated in the story department, why animation is literal kids stuff most of the time, and even when its not most organizations ignore or scoff at it and just vote disney or whatever their kids liked, and why all disney's animated classics keep getting soulless live action remakes. Why stuff with stylized graphics or non human characters are made less compared to before. Live action/realistic was always considered the final form of media, and being forced to make games with stylized/animal/abstract characters was just coping with limitations.
