Japan want to export goods and services for dollars to secure their energy supplies. This is why they want to gain western market shares.

Japanese probably didn't overexpand their workforce with nearly zero percent interest covidbux loans that are now costing real money and need to be repaid.

Japanese work culture obviously has a lot of problem but the hesitation to fire literally anyone and the company loyalty that happens over there really is conducive to making great games. There are people at Nintendo right now that were also there at the release of the N64. Many of the great Japanese creators we think of today still work at the company they worked at twenty years ago. Kojima would probably still be at Konami if they didn't hate each other.
How many developers in the west can you say that about? No studio can build a talentbase if people just hop around every four years.
Because Japanese companies employ people for life meaning most game developers will have older members with years of experience making games, also Japan outsources mostly to smaller Jap businesses and competent Chinese companies unlike the west which outsources to pajeets.
