I'll just say it.
MS is better as console design. Visually, there's no question. In terms of hardware, their engineers just make better systems for running software. Red ring of death, was an exception to an otherwise competently designed hardware legacy.
But I'll admit the PS2 was the most beautiful console AOT.
homie last gen for Microsoft was a fricking shitshow. Only reason xsx does its more compact size is the dual stacked mb design. Thing is awkward and trash though, current gen fricking sucks.
visually MS went with boring and uninspired probably because of all the issues w/ the 360, but boring isn't always bad when it comes to designing a console.
Outside of the original Xbox (which launched like a year or two after PS2 so it's not really fair) they've had the weakest console every gen on top of the most detective units
You're not wrong. The OG 360 design was really neat and with the times and it paired really well with the Wii on an entertainment center. The best Playstation designs are the small ones that are dark and slim that can hide and be unseen.
Sony kept things simple and cheap to save on money but couldn't keep the size down. Microsoft chose to up their cost and create a separated motherboard design to be able to keep the size of the fridge down. Smart, but both perform like shit and run hot.
PS2 > Xbox
PS2 Slim > no competition
PS3 > 360 (RROD lol but I prefer the 360 aesthetically)
PS3 slim < 360 Slim
PS3 super slim > 360 super slim
PS4 > Xbone (despite the awful back of the PS4)
PS4 slim < Xbone S
PS4 Pro < Xbone X
PS5 < SeX/SeS
Boomers are dying, and moms are becoming more tolerant of big bulky boxes in their living rooms. What was driving consoles to be small was insane older gen x soccer moms.
No one ever talks about how the original PS4 design has that awful touch button for ejecting the disc. It starts out fine but eventually it starts to freak out and try to eject your disc non-stop.
It helps that instead of 1 TV per house people are more likely to have 1 TV per bedroom now.
>It starts out fine but eventually it starts to freak out and try to eject your disc non-stop.
Works fine on my launch ps4. Stop living without proper a/c you low level scum.
Compensating for the lack of games.
lol, lmao even!
why not ?
Thanks for the (you) esl.
the ugliest, worst eyesore of a console i have ever owned
why did this image leave out the usb on the 360
The usb was under the white flap
secret usb
X1 is as big if not bigger if you stack that obnoxious power supply on top.
I'll just say it.

no

>. Thing is awkward and trash though
its a work of art
Clearly stolen from G4 Cube design

Brute force solution to the cooling problem.
So they can sell you a slim version later.
Well that's anyone's hope of owning a PS5 at this point.
>Electronic get smaller over time
Wow its almost like its common sense
Except we're getting the other way.
Phones, portable consoles, consoles...
Just look at the 360 and the X1X.
Different technologies obviously. The same product decreases in size over time.
TVs have been getting bigger for the last 20 years.
bigger in screen size but thinner
Wow you're so right anon, you really taught me a lesson today in how production reduction works in technology.
Why is the XSX so fat?

Folded motherboard

W-women actually like smaller consoles. My wife says my Wii is all the console she needs!
Let's see the original XBOX's form factor.
MOGGED
which one ?
>bigger than the xbox hu3g
>bigger than the xbox1 DVR edition
What the shitto japanitto?
>xbox1 DVR
its VCR, pleb
than the xbox1 DVR edition
Think you're forgetting that giant power brick that takes up half your house and sounds like a jet engine.
why would a power brick make any noise
they have fans, they're literally just external PSUs
It had fans inside it. X1 was truly a fat piece of shit. Microsoft shouldve died with that monstrosity.

It happens in my cold Canadian basement. Sony just fricked the design of the eject button because they wanted to be fancy.
>frick huge
>1 front USB
Where does Sony get the audacity?
Who cares. Consoles have been shit since PS3/Xbone era
When they put her into DA2 DLC I was done with seeing her face and the pandering. Apparently some 70 year old knocked her up so good for her.
