>setting has you in a school not set in Merica
Problem there, moron: you aren't in the school for 99.9% of the game
Why the frick do you need to be wearing a uniform when exploring the wilderness?
>you aren't in the school for 99.9% of the game >school specifically asks you to experience the entire region and find something out of your travels as a assignment >school also has optional classes that you can earn rewards and interactions
Nothing you said in response is a refutation
Wow, I'm on an assignment. Cool. How does that have relevance to what I'm wearing when three towns away from the school? Why can't I wear what I please?
It's a lack of options and thus a lack of customization and thus horrid game design.
Japan typically makes the best school uniforms and GameFreak typically makes some pretty great waifus. It should be something impossible to make bad. Yet somehow they did
This has the same completely moronic energy as >Hurr trainer customization is a part of Kalos' identity and that's why you can't change your character's clothes in OR/AS
>>Hurr trainer customization is a part of Kalos' identity and that's why you can't change your character's clothes in OR/AS
The worst part is that this eventually evolved into gimmicks starting with Z-Moves, and now we have to put up with them every new gen.
In all honesty, it does feel kind of weirdly degrading.
Gen 6 didn't have too many clothing options, but each item felt distinct and worthwhile, especially for Serena.
Gen 7 wasn't bad but color options were pretty arbitrarily limited depending on your version.
Gen 8 was again okay but I feel like the ability to customize your gym jersey was a sorely missed opportunity. PLA and BDSP had some okay outfits but overall they were kind of a nothingburgers? That's kind of the impression I get.
Gen 9 is partially justified in that you have to wear a school uniform, but I kind of also suspect they might have cynically done this to reduce the amount of clothing options they'd need to make. They kind of halfassedly tried to make up with this through extensive facial options and customizable Rotom phone covers.
Why does the SV protag look like the same kid npcs that aren’t even in school yet? Feels dumb, especially when Nemona is as tall as adults like Clavell. The scaling in this game is fricked.
There were probably too many children prostitutes running around last gen that nintnendo had to take a step back
>setting has you in a school not set in Merica
>WTF!!! WHY IS MUH CUSTOMIZATION GOTTEN WORSE?!?!
>setting has you playing as a regular trainer in a generic region
>WHY I CANT ROLEPLAY AS SOMETHING
Frick off moron.

I doubt that you even played the game

Under baked, like most of SV.

SV outfits were so fricking bad, can't wait to move on from the ugly school uniforms
