Pretty much, cause it's obvious whats going to sell.
I mean, you think someone is going to look at this cover and want to buy it lol. You can call them moronic all you want, but the devs were equally moronic with the design.
Returnal is the first game of its IP. Remnant 2 is the second game of its IP. As someone who shilled both, remnant 1 is the better game because its co-op is fun and worthwhile. Returnal is one of those games like FF13 or Dark Souls 2, that will never be given a chance because of autistic hangups both on the creator's end and the gamer's end. >FF13 shoves its open world into the very end of the game and the rest of the game is a linear hallway, >Dark Souls 2 has a lot of build autism, but with awful graphics and controls >Returnal has shmup and roguelike dna with awesome voice acting, but with an unseeably ugly female protagonist
Remnant 1's autism is saved by not having the shitty parts be entirely off-putting. Remnant 2 appeals to older fans, who already expect bullshit like infinite respawning enemies and bosses that spam adds and bullshit AoE attacks.
>Remnant 1's autism is saved by not having the shitty parts be entirely off-putting.
If I didn't have a friend explain nightmares gimmick to me I would've instantly dropped the game.
Also locking content behind rng events is incredibly aggravating.
In remnant, you can play it and get everything you need and beat it.
In returnal, you have a 10% chance of getting what you need, so you need to replay the game 10 times, then get a fake ending, then do it again, then get another fake ending, then do it again. 30 pointless playthroughs of walking around an empty house real slow. Rooms are on a timer and both good and bad pickups are the same color. Every item is a tradeoff instead of items just being useful.
Games are supposed to be fun, not tedious. Roguelikes are a cancer on gaming
Because returnal is 70$ roguelike
Sony must be smoking crack
All these replies, but not a single 1 has the correct answer. Let me give everyone here the correct answer. The answer is: PC. That's all there is to it. These "little" games with not as much marketing behind them, can only truly become viral and gain a lot of hype when it's released on the PC. It is the most dominant platform after all. Just how many of these smaller (indie) games on Steam blew up the past couple of years? You have BattleBit (most recent example), you have V Rising, Phasmophobia, Valheim and more. When does this ever happen on a console game?
Her inclusion and dialogue just stick out like a sore thumb. Probably the most blatant and lazy example of ticking the ESG boxes I've ever seen. Yeah, there's a strong black woman speaking in quippy jive, who has saved (You)r (presumably white and male going by playerbase) character's life several times so you know she's a girlboss, and she's not very attractive, and makes the same vaguely anti-white statement twice even though it couldn't be less relevant. And then, immediately after the tutorial, she just becomes a largely irrelevant vendor for the rest of the game.
It's like they were given a checklist of what politically correct elements absolutely had to be included, shoved them all into one character, and ditched it as quickly as humanly possible.
Do you actually get mad because of things like that? It all just seems inconsequential. A lot of hate on this site is manufactured like "Did you hear this??" Or "oh ma God there's a woman". Its all the fricking same repeats day in and day out. Sometimes I think that it's all one big psy-op to ruin this board.
People aren't mad about any one single instance, it's all pattern recognition. It's just yet another game where the same shit is included for absolutely no reason. If you pay attention to media releases and aren't an NPC, you start noticing the patterns, after a while you start suspecting an agenda, and eventually you get angry about what the agenda implies.

How are these game comparable?
feel the same to me
>dark souls with guns
vs
>middle age woman bullet hell
That's a real head scratcher right there
so remant2 is good cuz muh dark souls kinorino and returnal is bad cuz woman bad
Thanks. This board is fricking moronic

Correct, good gameplay > bad gameplay
Yes.

It will never be not amusing how much anons don't go outside
Shut up.

Ironically, the final boss this time around is yet another aggravating shitfest, but at least it's not a gimmick fight.
Venom is harder than the actual final boss

>le old white fart line is ok
>people really get triggered by a character that become irrelevant
Sad

>shove her front and center into the tutorial to get their easy Blackrock money and then discard her immediately after
Pretty funny honestly.
Frick off
kwab
>corporate mandated nignog you have to interact with once and never again

You let that shit get you angry?
It's more of a tired, resigned sigh at this point.
Yea I keep seeing this ESG shit and only /misc/ rats are the type to try to bring stuff up like this, same with safe horny morons

such a blunder they didn’t put this on Gamepass Day One, the amount of money they would have made
Why do you keep posting this?
why are you in every Remnant thread replying to the only sensible poster, they should have taken the Gamepass money and made bank
Because Returnal was ugly trash on a system that nobody could get
