lol, dare I say lmao
Laugh all you want chud PStablet is breaking sales records and there’s nothing you can do about it.
gaems?
yes
because standalone is more popular and they require way more shit inside of the headset to run games on it
i’m not even straight but what could he possibly be seeing inside the helmet that’s better than the 3 girls irl
>girls
those are guys in skinsuits
this is arousing to the straight mind?
No one exposed to a lot of vrchat is straight
this is what the future will be like, nobody physically visiting each other because you can virtual censor your house so they can only look at specific things.
Imagine the children of zoomers having virtual birthdays
Literally nothing wrong with that. It's just the same as meeting up with people but with none of the demerits.
Not the same if you can't touch
I never touched a woman, so I'm not missing anything
Just touch boys instead
boys only touched me to hit and bring pain
Find boys that touch you to bring happiness
Stop trying to convert people homosexual
To be fair, anyone getting "converted" by someone just telling them to touch boys doesn't sound very solidly straight to me to begin with, this guy isn't very convincing.
I prefer hanging around with extremely drunk people in VR to real life because then they can't piss on my toilet floor.
>tfw recognize some of the models
Never going back to the /vg/ general
I only recognized one since I'm a newbie
>these... "trannies" are they in the room with us right now?
>me, off my schizo meds:
>what could he possibly be seeing inside the helmet that’s better than the 3 girls irl
literally anything is better
are you winning?
Been playing the same shit for over 5 years. My Index is just sitting there collecting dust. VR is dead
Cuz it's cool
the bigger the headset, the bigger the panels resolution DPI and FOV
i think the latest panel resolution is 6K per eye.
I'm still waiting for "VR" to evolve from an expensive display/controller hybrid into an actual virtual reality device.
>expensive
get a job
Get responsibilities
It is overpriced for what it is.
vr is the cheapest in history now
You can get a Quest 2 for $100 and do just about everything
Because trying to stuff too much shit into a small package and then making it slightly thinner with each generation is how you can do planned obsolescence easily. And then once it's thin and the thermals are shit you can offer performance improvements. And then once the performance is acceptable you can make it bigger and stuff more shit in it.
It's all about facilitating mostly minor improvements and cyclical compromises.
Maybe on a poverty budget or if you are a child who needs to convince a parent that still translates the cost of everything into a defunct currency without adjusting for inflation at all. Compared to practically any hobby, it's cheap.
Doesn't fit the phoneshit business model.
God I fricking hope so.
>I'm talking specifically about stand alone.
The only difference between what you're describing and PCVR is the length of the headset cable.
>2024 VR
>it's still not actually virtual reality, it's just a screen for your eyeballs
i don't give a shit if it's as big as my bed as long as it's full dive
I keep wondering with all the obvious problems that have been pointed out, why don't they just make super small lightweight vr headsets like the beyond and pull all the other hardware in a separate pack around the waist? Wouldn't that solve a lot of issues with weight distribution and overall comfort? The only people who would complain are the furries in VR chat who use full body tracking. Just seems dumb for stand alone to jam everything to something strapped to your face.
It certainly could solve some issues but it makes the system more awkward to put on, for something that is already too awkward for most people.
I'd certainly try a headset like you're talking about but neither meta nor valve seem to be going in that direction and I hate apple, who is, so I don't see a headset like that on the horizon that I'd use.
I feel like it wouldn't be any more awkward than the weirdness we're doing already. The fact that I have to buy a large battery pack to fix both the shitty battery life and act as a counter weight is really dumb. Like what comes to mind are the people that shrink down consoles and turn them into portables. Surely the guts can be ripped out and 3D printed into a more reasonable case. At worst you would have an HDMI cable going from your head to your waist.
I'm talking specifically about stand alone.
>I'm talking specifically about stand alone.
there was a backpack MSI pc to work with it
>pull all the other hardware in a separate pack around the waist?
oculus rift CV1 had all the hardware in the PC
maybe that would cause latency issues?
It wouldn't cause any more latency than connecting to a pc via HDMI cable.
I think there's two big and obvious problems. One is that unless you're going with a fanny-pack or something else incredibly clumsy, you're still going to be constrained for space and thermals. And then the second problem is that if you do that, you're putting wires back in. People complain about that with the Apple VP.
problems with the index is it is really heavy, uncomfortable to wear up on forehead for any amount of time, it's better to just take it off.
lenses do slide back and forth a bit more than i think they should. causes image to go out of focus. IPD slider is in the worst spot possible, bumping the sliding track when you take the headset on or off is fairly regular, adds to the former issue.
index controllers are a good idea and finger tracking should be the standard concept going forward, but they did have some quality issues that eventually caused me to RMA one.
Valve deckard soon bros :^)
My Index is just a dedicated Beat Saber machine at this point.
To be fair I do use it almost every day I love that game, but I don't even remember the last new VR game I played.
Are you looking for games to play or you wait until they're really popular to jump in?
