Is it the open world with many quests, items, enemies and the outdated but good looking graphics? I don't think any other game has as much replayability as it. It's such a mindless fun that it makes sense why people are so addicted to it. Is it even possible to break free from it if you don't have a good life?
It isn't you are just a defective human
You're the one who's unhealthy and in turn have to put people down to make yourself feel good.
My fricking sides anon welcome to 2023 I suggest you go back to 2006 while you still can.
understandable, we reap what we sow
>Normalgay armchair psychology as a rebuttal to criticism
Nasty little gaslighter, frick off
Biology is not psychology. If you lack the nutrients and stress free life you're not going to have a working prefrontal cortex which control your mood and behavior in general.
>criticism
He literally said that someone who's addicted to World of Warcraft is defective without explaining why.
Get a real fricking job, shilling awful games on the internet isn't one
>shilling
Not only did you change the topic but also don't know the meaning of the word you just used.
>someone who's addicted to World of Warcraft is defective
What part of addicts are defective did you not understand?
Play 1 game or play 5 diff games, what’s the difference really. The only thing that matters is hours spent on gaming overall
Unless you're living in the woods you're an addict by definition as you want many unatural stuff that are not just unneeded but harmful. Also you seem to be addicted to putting other people down so perhaps you're just projecting or silently crying for help?
it literally isn't, shit bored me to death during free trial
yeah i'm not surprised
WoW is a quintessential white man thing, it's why you see so many brownskins try and jump on board for a taste of the good life and then "don't get it"
you addicted of escaping real life. but soon you will realise you were robbed out on alot of your youth and your life is complete shit.
>you addicted of escaping real life
I mentioned that this can be a reason why people might become addicted to it.
Lol at least back then Vanilla was fresh, it was such a mind blowing experience for anyone who was new to MMOs, it absolutely helped that there was no Twitch stream and even YouTube wasn't a thing
nowadays I don't know, I guess it's all about the nostalgia, I haven't touched the game in 8 years, but I watch streams just to relax from time to time and dive in to the nostalgia
you have nostalgic brainrot, i didn't try wow until wotlk, i quit in cata. came back to try it in bfa. quit again in bfa, haven't tried it again.
only thing i've seen work is to play ffxiv casually, and when you're caught up, pirate and play literally any game your heart desires. the sheer volume of alternatives will break you free of it, but you have to want to be free, worked for a few wow addict friends of mine.
personally i just play rts casually these days. occasionally an rpg. maybe i just dont have an addictive personality debuff.
>play xiv
Lmao, if you said erp in xiv I might believe you but that game is unplayable unless you are the dmv sloth from zootopia
nah its good for a single run through, its themepark like WoW but more on-rails with a linear storyline, so if you play it like you might an average jrpg, and endure the slow start up like you might an average jrpg, its a good time.
I don't think its a replacement for people who want a game to invest their ruined lives into like WoW let them, but for people who are just attached to a rose-tinted image of a game they once loved, its actually a good fast acting taper-off drug.
at least thats how it seemed to the people i played WoW with that left. I had already beaten it by the time they started.
This reads like marketing copy
Because you're a bland taste normie npc bottom feder, and thereby the target audience.
God I wish I was a normie npc bottom feeder so I wouldn't even come to this genuinely bad personalities infested shithole of a page ever again but here I am still, reading the ramblings of maniacs like you.
It's your greed, wanting your number to go up.
That's literally it.
I think the exploration part is more interesting.
The game is just insanely full of life and interesting locations. It's the greatest theme park MMO to ever exist and if you're in it just to ride each ride once or twice, it's a fantastic experience.
It was really addictive only through the years when "Classic", "The Burning Crusade", and "Wrath of the Lich King" were current content; everything else after were just degrees of worse declining eventually down to rubbish trash shit; Mists of Pandaria is an expansion people laud as being some return to norm or greatness, but it wasn't, it was bad too, MoP intoduced the problem of too much streamlining and "quality of life" and stat / item level worship, and it introduced way too many systems on top of systems which were making the game feel really arbitrary, and frankly by the end of Mists of Pandaira I was so damn sick of everything about the expansion and eventually found the entire Pandaria aesthetic and tone to be utterly, completely, totally, annoying and vapid
it's a pretty fun setting for playing on an RP server
Genuinely: it's the meme -- It feels real, even outside of the game.
One simple thing that explains a lot is the more recent wow like dragon flight or bfa is not addictive at all, it’s the opposite.
It was really addictive when it had zero plot, a whole range of classes that all played totally different and a still somewhat cohesive world.
No modern game ever risks having zero plot anymore which is a pity. I tried many other mmos and quit within hours over abysmal terrible plots you are forced to follow and cheesy shit generic looking zones. Wows art style combined with a mix of classic fantasy and quirkiness works perfectly.
WoW used to understand that your character was just a guy in the world, and that it's YOUR story in this world, now they have the complete ass-end of understanding everything about MMORPGs and wondering why their cultural icon game is declining the way it is
IT'S BECAUSE IT'S BAD
AND IT USED TO NOT BE
>WoW used to understand that your character was just a guy in the world, and that it's YOUR story in this world
Only Ragnarok did that well where you were a nobody and you can't fix the decaying world, and even when you rebirth and the gods notice you, you're still a nobody outside of stuff like the Sign Quest.
In WoW, you're just a moving plot device for the main characters, but at least you're the Champion(tm) 95% of players won't know why you're called that.
Vanilla did exactly that. It was starting from BC that it was about all the different named characters.
The raids are pointless since the kills that matter are stolen by other characters
The problem is they never built upon that. morons saying we are just a guy in the worlds fricking stupid after we have went in and killed old gods and elemental lords since vanilla. In XIV and XI(to less of an extent) we are god slayers who the story built upon. In WoW you have killed and fought crazy shit yet you are just a disney homosexual who has no attachement to your character outside of mount, mog, cheevos. The whole, "just wanna be adventure gays" should just go play OSRS or are complete morons.
Its the steady sense of progression behind time investment.
got addicted to it for like a month and never touched it again
thing really sucks
It literally has one of the greatest worlds ever depicted. With a timeless art style.
cope
The setting is just too good. There's a reason why this game is still the most played MMO to the date and it's not because of its gameplay, but the setting.
It's the giant pauldrons
The setting has been utterly ruined
The only (chance at) salvation would be rolling back the clock to somewhere between the end of the frozen throne and the start of wrath of the lich king, followed by the firing of anyone involved with the story over the last 15 years out of a cannon into a pit of sharks
burning crusade was acceptable as an otherworld adventure but the blood elf and draenei parts need reworking especially the sunwell
rate this warrior
women should not be warriors
you're trying too hard, tone it down a bit - you're currently at around 9 and you need to bring it down to a nice 5
Your character is so fricking ugly its revolting, take your garbage back to your containment thread.
imagine her massive wiener
ugly sunglasses, boots dont match, using the same weapon model on both weapons, worst possible fem draenei hair
2/10 apply yourself
the helm and the boots look terrible if i wanna go for a bawdmog, and i love that sword
The boots don't even match, the glasses look stupid and the weapons are boring af. It's basically just a full set that everyone else is using also. -10/10.
never seen anyone like that, so i am unique
your mog is uninspired trash dawg
still gonna keep it
It's a full set with poorly chosen boots, helm and weapons
>uninspired bawdmog
everyone laughs at you when they see you
>there comes the guy that is jacking off all the time lmao
>here comes the jaker offer lel
sounds like their problem
warriors are fricking gay
>i'm le angry dude with a sword hurr ill challenge supernatural forces with my heckin mighterino!
not to mention all the classic warrior mains were egotistical c**ts. frick the lot of them
it's ok, my main is a warlock
v ugly, may as well play final trannisay
i prefer good MMOs
Nice piece of ass, I love the twintails. But the glasses are pure shit, remove them asap
>female draenei anything
0/10, you're a homosexual
you're a gayot for not liking female draenei thoughever
Never got addicted to it, RO on the other hand...
i like Everquest more.
it really isn't, you just have a tendency to get addicted easily anon, wow is about as fun as watching paint dry like almost all other mmo games, its novelty was the fantasy setting with massive player communities.
I really wish blizzard never made it cuz it lead to its demize since every game they made after has been inspired by it in all the bad ways.
>ruined diablo 3 aesthetics
>diablo 4 has heavy mmo mechanics that literally add nothing to it plus its shit
>overwatch...
>was so successful that it lead to blizzard becoming a big enough company that the focus went from making good games to making the most amount of money, in the process getting rid of those people who made blizzard what it was to begin with.
frick wow
>was so successful that it lead to blizzard becoming a big enough company that the focus went from making good games to making the most amount of money, in the process getting rid of those people who made blizzard what it was to begin with
This happens to literally every corporations with successful products, not exactly a unique situation. You should blame capitalism and the idea of limitless growth for that but you won't do that coz you're a two faced twat
For me, it's wotlk solo with 11k bots loose in the server. They grind, loot and sometimes attack you if provoked.
is this a pserver or just one you set up
One i set up from a guide i found. I've next to no experience or nostalgia around WoW. Maybe that's why i am getting a kick out of it.
>people still willingly give money to blizzard
i don't get it man
Genuinely the only "addicting" thing is the fact you need to pay $15 a month to play it so you feel like you should play it instead of other videogames because otherwise it's a waste of money. An average modern multiplayer videogame is as addicting if not more than WoW.
I broke free from is over a decade ago. It wasn't that hard, the game just turned to shit.
