Why isn't this a bigger deal? This is Sony levels of bullshit.

https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/help/gameplay/article/decommissioning-of-online-services-september-2022/000102396

Basically, PC players are about to lose access to DLCs that they bought and OWNED with Ubisoft games that they own, as well as not be able to access Uplay exclusive weapons, content, and levels of those games. The multiplayer will be shut down as well. Console players won't be able to play multiplayer or access Uplay content, which means no Uplay exclusive guns on stuff like Splinter Cell Blacklist for Xbox or PC players.

There should be an outrage and this can be reversed if the outcry is big enough. Microsoft reversed their decision to price up Gold and Sony reversed the decision to take the PS3 and Vita storefronts offline last year after backlash, this can absolutely be reversed if the same happens here.
Affected games of importance:
Assassin's Creed II
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Assassin's Creed Revelations
Assassin's Creed III
Assassin's Creed Liberation HD
Beyond Good And Evil HD
Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

Many buyers of those DLCs don't even play anymore. Don't expect mass outrage, especially on PC where you can pirate that content.

Again, even if you have the physical disk of Blacklist on 360, you still won't be able to use all the guns or skins because they were tied to Uplay.

I have the Altair costume in AC2 on 360 from Uplay. Are you telling me that I won't be able to use it anymore or does this only affect those that buy the games AFTER Uplay content is unobtainable?

          Anonymous

I'm not sure, it's unclear. Try taking your Xbox 360 offline and playing the game, and seeing if you can still access it. If you can't, then more than likely, it's gone for everyone, regardless.

            Anonymous

Adding to this, for a few older games they just gave you all the uplay related content for free regardless if you bought it with units or not, I know it happened with the Ezio Collection on Xbox for me, but they made it sound like they are completely cutting the games off from Uplay

It's simple, if you can't play it indefinitely don't buy it to begin with, because you're not buying you're just renting

Most of the games have a PS4 release now. Ubisoft is too cheap to just continue hosting the versions that people paid for a decade ago. Despite being great, Assassin's Creed II launched on November 17, 2009.

Splinter Cell Blacklist is the biggest deal here since:
        It has DLC maps
        It has multiplayer
It has Uplay/Ubisoft Connect Exclusive content
And it was done on a version of Unreal 2.5 dubbed the Lead Engine in a time when Unreal 3 was widely used, so if it does get remastered, something will probably get messed up.

I was already planning on trying out this series so I guess I might as well pick this up before the extra content is locked away from me. Is Blacklist one of the good ones?

      - Hard to find people when matchmaking
      - PC crashes regularly, problem is known, fix ETA September or later
      - Specialization overhaul has no ETA
      - Repeated previous season several times
      - Former CM was left, and new CM doesn't talk much
      - New game mode is already losing interest
      - Current season's new skill, EMP drone, was scrapped due to insufficient resources

I love the game, played Div1 since the pre-release and play Div2 every day, but there are a lot of problems which need fixing. Hopefully the year of insufficient staff will prompt management to increase their offering, because there clearly aren't enough people to keep the game running.

The thing Division always has going for it is the mind-blowing amount of world detail. Custom major brands with a full marketing suites, local stores with unique assets, radio stations for each safe house with dozens of hours of original content, uncannily accurate maps compared with their real-world counterparts, etc. There's always been technical problems and a few unanswered problems (what's the DZ for, why does Conflict exist, why would people play Underground/Summit, etc).

Are they not focusing development on the f2p Division game? I'm surprised 2 still gets support.

The moment you see a game has DLC or any kind of online functionality, you ahould already know that at some point you cant access it anymore.

    How does this surprise anyone?
Hell, this is why people hated DLC in the first place (well and the whole taking out content to sell to you later).
I mean did people expect them to keep servers running for 50years when they dont earn money by doing that?

    Dont buy DLC cuck shit.
