Honestly it probably wouldn't have failed if they released it later. All the cucks on Ganker are shilling for subscription services now.

Fricking where? Why would you make something like this up?

Don't act moronic. Practically every thread has people shilling for gamepass. It's the epitome of you will own nothing and you will be happy and that has clearly started to become likeable to some of the gays on here.

How much brain damage must you have to think gamepass is the same as Stadia?
Stadia asks money for "renting hardware" and then asks you to pay full price for software. Gamepass is renting software in the same way blockbusters used to do.

It's a subscription based model. Subscription based models are for moronic homosexuals who own nothing.

You call them ESL-kun: I believe it's googles shitty AI trying to find out why stadia failed and is trying to fix the service for a relaunch.

steaming just doesn't make economic sense. it works for videos because the processing power for watching a video is negligible and latency isn't a huge issue. game are not the same.

People who thought that Stadia will work in a world without proper internet speeds are moronic homosexuals.

Because OnLive already failed before it and Google brought nothing different to the table from that except their own name.

I played Homefront online on Onlive with input lag

  11. 8 months ago

cloud streaming for gaming just isn't viable for most people since you need a top end internet connection for a good experience and if you can afford gigabit+ internet you could also probably afford to play the games on local hardware so its redundant. also the business model was utterly stupid. you paid a subscription and still had to pay full retail price per game on top of that

Streaming sucks unless you got a wired connection and live in a city with a data center and Stadia expected us to buy games just for streaming, XCloud/GeForce Now at least use our existing libraries.

Isn't a big reason why modern games require so much disk space and processing power because they're being coded inefficiently because that gets the games done faster and game companies aren't hiring the best and brightest coders these days?

      Anonymous

Partially this, but mostly it's uncompressed assets

I'm no coder but that sounds about right. Left 4 Dead runs smoothly on the most potato computers with moderate graphics even with all the processes of its gameplay like hordes of zombies each with their own individual AI, and then you have modern games that stutter and lag and struggle to load big environments or any area where there's more than eight active NPC's at once.

Because they didn't do it like GeForce Now. Better to use Steam than your own store so when I no longer have to rely on cloud, I can still play the slop I bought.

how was the latency on that? did it take a second to register you pressing a button?

I'm one of the only gays on this board to have used it before it shut down, latency was pretty good on a 100mb/s connection. However, it took over the entire bandwidth making internet browsing on other devices extremely slow.
