Why nobody talks about this game?
I just beat it and holy shit this game is incredible
probably the best indie RPG I've played in the last 5 years
it's on par with undertale
Shopping Cart Returner Shirt $21.68 |
DMT Has Friends For Me Shirt $21.68 |
Shopping Cart Returner Shirt $21.68 |
i got filtered by the son of the east boss
before that i hated the puzzles
great graphics, story, and music though
It gets talked about a fair amount in indie threads. What's interesting is that the game is setup to be super super data driven and modular so mods for it would theoretically be possible. I even made a few myself.
congrats on beating it, most people definitely never got to the ending. did you do the DLC too?
Late game puzzle design feels really tedious
Played it when it launched years back, I'll go back and do NG+/DLC eventually.
I promise, maybe.
same bro, finished the game when they were still working on dlc. Ill eventually get to it
go play it, its really good
Got it on my wishlist.
I'd say pic related is a good game to start with next, for something a little different but still charmingly retro.
someone here recommended this to me a couple of years ago and I finally got around to playing it last year. it's one of my all time favorites now. Extremely soulful game. I hadn't been that sucked into a video game in years.
Not him, that was probably me. I was reccing it for a while a few years ago.
Yeah, even if I have no drive to 100% it, it vacuumed me in hard when I started.
I've responded to this post a while ago. The game feels horrible early on if you're playing on a gamepad because your best projectile option until you get the Sonic Spear is the slingshot, and the slingshot feels absolutely horrible to use on gamepad (so does the crossbow, but much less so). Your choice between KB/M and Gamepad will almost certainly warp the way that you play the game, so keep that in mind when you pick it up.
By my opinion, it also takes a little while for the game to pick up steam. I don't say that as a bad thing, per se-- I greatly disliked the Desert area and the wheat field area was also pretty lackluster, but they're followed by some pretty good story beats to contrast them. It's all good as soon as you get to the North Wall though.
Phalanx is one of the coolest superbosses I've played against in a while. It was hard yet fair, and also exuded exactly the right amount of boss presence in its encounter. It was worth wasting my time collecting literally everything.
tl;dr I would recommend the game. Kinda weak opening but it picks up.
despite the poor initial sales this thing surprisingly got a cult following in Japan so we may yet see Phoenotopia 2.
It's good but I got burned out on sidequesting and mat farming really quick
good game but the version i got from igg-games wiped my harddrive
i ended up buying it but man frick them
Favorite song? I'd probably say Gaia's Garden, but this is incredibly good too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5244PUKtJY
Apart from Autumn's Rise, I really like the Basin Keep theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EO7ZlTvAsBQ
this area was pure kino
i was playing ffxiv endwalker at the time and had just reached amarout which is like the same kind of art-deco city
really cool shit
I still can't describe the feeling this track gives me
?si=qfRDpcuUmNiq_oYa
>Final boss theme is a remix of one of the earlier tracks
literally never gets old
?si=pT3ADYUnH1vPI7Yu
I don't remember either of these tracks.
Are they from the DLC or is my memory going?
If it has Lea it's base game, if it has Shizuka it's DLC
bloated, repetitive, and the writing sucks
>DLC costume "manlea"
troony game
LOL I remember when everyone had a good chuckle at Manlea but yeah if it came out now that's all anyone would say about the game.
wasnt that just some april fools shit? have a nice day.
Zoomer moron. That got released as a joke response to kids complaining that you play as a girl and can't play as a guy.
>Why nobody talks
Another esl here, what's wrong with this one?
why does nobody talk*
Oh thanks, now I need to get off this site for a long while before my understanding of English turns to Ebonics.
>tedious, repetitive puzzles
>literal homosexual couple that are completely pointless except for being annoying homosexuals the whole game
other than that the combat and bosses were fun. but not good enough for me to want to plat the entire arena or whatever
and yeah the devs are homosexuals too. hiding the post-game behind paid dlc is pretty lame
Lea, Emilie and C-Tron are the perfect trio.
The C-Tron twist broke my heart.
>Emilie
>Astrid
I tried to play this and it was kinda mid.
Frickin gay ass side quests being required to get upgrades.
Combat was mid as well.
I only checked this shit out because I heard it was apparently like DMC, but it was not.
Back to good indies like Postal 2, Hotline Miami, and Castle Crashers.
it starts very slow, the game picks up at the second temple when you unlock lvl 2 skills
The side quests with gear rewards are all good and worth doing. You can just ignore the awful crafting system and most side quests
are you a moron?
the game takes place in an MMO
do you fricking do every sidequest in an mmo? hell no
skip that dogshit dude
I wish listed it, will pick it up when it's the proper price for an indie game (7 dollars or less)
Don't be cheap anon.
Sorry I just bought a house and I have to be
>it's on par with undertale
good bait
undertale is a meme story earthbound ripoff
crosscode is a very very very very good videogame, arguably better than ALTTP
i pirated this game. i recommend it 9.8/10
listen to me, i know it sucks to be house-poor, congrats on the move, hear me out - you can pirate the game - if you hate piracy, buy the gog version. unlike steam, you dont have 2 hours to refund it, you have 30 days. period. you can probably even beat the game during that time. if you have an emergency expense for your $7, perhaps the coffee machine at work broke and you need to go to starfrickers, or your daughter threatens to kill herself unless you buy her a happy meal or bigmac, then quickly refund the game and use that precious $7.
i realize you need to save your $7, because i know it'll make or break your $3k/mo mortgage (lol) - so don't spend $7, but please do yourself a favor and play the fricking game, pay for it later. trust me. you will feel like you ripped off the devs. you will want to buy seven COPIES of the game. you will feel like the game shouldn't be "$7 or less" - you will feel like it should be $70, unlike "quad-A skull and bones" ubishit dogfricker slop. you will want to work overtime to gift your friend a copy, because you love them so much they deserve to experience this incredible fricking game. i'm dead fricking serious.
if you aren't enjoying it by the forest temple you probably won't enjoy it. the tutorial / intro part is the worst fricking part because of the Black person woman & your stupid blue haired female protagonist just being like HUH? WUH? DUH? - but finish it and keep going. i really am angry at the monkeyfrick moronic devs for making the demo the tutorial part. if you just played that section, if you played the demo, it feels unremarkable, but this game is probably the best game i played in 2010-2020 except maybe rainworld, highfleet, brigador, noita, etc, it's up there with games like that.
>good bait
>undertale is a meme story earthbound ripoff
Am i going to bring out Kermit?
considering that highfleet brigador and noita basically have story as an afterthought, thats pretty high praise.
then do it
https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/crosscode-switch/
https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/crosscode/9n04rqq64524
>he said $7 or less
>this is $8, before tax
nah
I played a ton of some weird beta version and when it came out I lost the desire to do it again, someday
I just bought it yesterday. How long does it take to become “holy shit amazing” like the internet assures me it is?
Around the time you start your first raid
it gets more fun after you unlock and learn to use a few combat arts
This is a pretty fun indie game
Another one I'd recommend is lunarlux
I never saw this until 2 days ago when a random video with 20 views was on my youtube recommended, then it appeared in my steam queue yesterday, now I am seeing it here. Someone wants me to buy the game.
You guys been keeping up with Project Terra?
Made by the same devs.
Is this set in the same world as well?
Currently unknown.
I think it's an entirely separate story. They mentioned after releasing the DLC they wanted to do something new.
Local Anons filtered by puzzles.
Another game with an extended Early Access period that made the release forgettable. I still need to get around to playing it.
It's pretty good but I couldn't get into the DLC
Dunno why, never even saw whatever dungeon's there. Game had just worn out its welcome for me I guess
The final dungeon/boss of the main story were such a boring slog I haven't played any of the epilogue yet.
>that part, you know which one I'm talking about
is it just me or was that kind of fricked up
like I actually felt second hand imposter syndrome for a video game character somehow
There's a lot of "that part"s but what i say to all of them is, i have the same feels.
Do you mean the vermillion shit, or the lea spamming/screaming no for a good reason
shit almost made me cry for osme reason
I mean the part at the exact midpoint in the game in vermillion
:^)
FRICK YOU, EAT SHIT AND DIE
🙁
I'm convinced there is no other indie as good as crosscode. I've given up on looking for a better experience. It's the best 2d game I've played since ALTTP as a kid on snes
The devs are making a successor.
I've been following it. Looks incredible but seems years out. Bet we don't see it until 2026
Honestly, it's a little boring, tedious and the writing feels really weak. It's like somebody grew up on bad 90's anime dubs and wrote a script trying to capture that exact energy throughout the game. It didn't really capture my attention.
I grew up on bad 90s anime dubs. Playing the game made me feel some things I hadn't felt in 20+ years.
All the parts trying to be like an actual MMO really sucked even if that was the point.
you have to be completely moronic to think you're supposed to do sidequests in this game
it's basically for morons who somehow can't get good at the combat
play the fricking good combat don't cheapen it yourself by """Grinding""" 30 boar asses or whatever.
the gameplay / combat is really good. agreed on all points. puzzles get pretty tiring by the end of it.
you do sidequests to grind.
I do sidequests to play tower defense in crosscode.
We are not the same.
>you will never have a spunky french tomboy GF who's obsessed with laser bridges
Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaser bridge!
That's a spider anon
If you keep fighting the bugs emilie asks lea if she's just doing it on purpose to mess with her and lea just nods
she's actually ok with spiders since they're not insects
Very Good gameplay with comfy music and a engaging enough story, it's nothing so incredible or controversial to make a big boom, so it got mostly overlooked.
The only Grasp i have with this game is the dungeon puzzles. Yeah they always have some changes with each new elemen but from the second onwards it feels like a massive fricking chore. Tough amazingly enough the DLC one was the most fun even after i was fricking done with them already. 10/10
It was talked about a lot more when it was newer.
I like it because it scratches a similar itch to how Zelda used to design its puzzles and progression, but in a more fleshed out, RPG-ish way. Not a huge fan of it expressly endorsing grinding (or leaning into the game design of the in-universe MMO at all really), but maintaining frickoff long combos is pretty fun once you've got the level for it, so I can forgive it there.
And the writing is... it's there. The premise is really neat, and the characters all work together fine, it's just nothing really excellent a lot of the time. Lea's limited vocabulary was a cute gimmick, though.
I liked the cutscenes. Giving so many animated facial expressions to the characters made it feel like a visual novel. I got emotional at one or two points in the story.
hard to believe they can do so much with just like. a handful of singular words for lea and facial expressions.
Love the game. Still haven't played the DLC though.
Lea is cute and she must be protected at all cost. Same goes for her French girlfriend.
I'm considering getting it on switch, On PC after a while it just makes my finger hurt
I have it on switch
and if you don't like frame drops get it on xbox psn or pc
it's not unplayable but in a few towns, places and battles you'll get noticeable frame drops, just like breath of the wild/tears of the kingdom
The controls are shit, and the ball puzzles are a fricking slog.
Shit game/10
Its a PC game you should have been using a mouse not some garbage gamepad
I played it on pc too and I can say gamepad is way better
>no autofire to keep shooting
>must place cursor in the middle of the screen to do melee attacks
meanwhile on gamepad you just need to move the Left Stick and fire, and let it go to do melee
The game can't even decide if it wants you to use mouse or gamepad so you end up using both, is simply shit.
Ascended Gamer Technique: Controller left hand, mouse right.
Skill issue for the both of you.
the puzzles however were fricking horrible partially due to the fact that they did a terrible job differentiating heights/verticality, and thats not even mentioning parts of the environment where you could go behind. I made it halfway thru the game before dropping it completely because of that shit.
Gameplay was good tho, and i thought the story was decent. I just wish they did a better job at layering/environment.
Played it when it came out for the Pass for like 2 hours and then dropped it, already had a backlog. Don’t know if I’m gonna like the puzzle designs if I pick it back up though.
Its best parts are in the Vermilion Wasteland but sadly, the bloated jungle follows right afterwards.
i changed computers when i got to the weeb samurai area
i remember saving the game right before a sidequest that involves a "glitch" or doing a glitch or something
i was at 100 save slots and had to overwrite something, or move files or something
anyway i havent touched it in 5 years what do i do, restart? i had already blown like 90 hours into my playthrough but i dont remember anything.
The dungeon puzzles could become really fatiguing. Like, just zooming around shooting BALLS at enemies in the open world was easy but Dungeons were another story...
Crosscode really captured how you just want to log the hell out of an MMO after doing a heavy activity so you can chill out and do something else. Also the WEEEEEEEEEEE CURVED STARGATE
It really did nail the feeling of things being both dense/expansive enough that you WANT to take a break after dealing with them, while also not being unfun or just plain bad. Just... very long.
for me the puzzles were amazing, i fricking live for this kind of shit, the only time the game even began to worry me was the tower of puzzles at the end but that was of course a fakeout
i recently finished it. pretty good but you start to see where the limits of combat becomes where it becomes a dodge phase into attack window loop, especially in the dlc. you can do some neat stuff like afterimage dodges or time slows and maybe also skip a phase once in a while. still really fun, great dlc final dungeon. that ending teaser was just a little joke it seems like. no crosscode 2.
I stopped after getting to the desert area because it feels like there's just so much time wasting content to slog through to reach the actually interesting stuff like puzzles and bosses.
I should probably get back to it and power through the filler, but the trash mob combat and grinding is kind of awful.
Just cheat yourself all the side quest drop crap.
Just skip sidequests
I beat the whole game with only the basic equipment from the stores
Yeah it's fantastic very strong game. I'm not sure how popular it is outside of Ganker but I'm pretty sure nowadays people only know games that are at least nominated for the game awards. Interesting story too. Only game I ever pirated and then purchased after beating out of respect. A perfect 10/10
same here
after pirating it and playing halfway I felt guilty for not paying for it
>Only game I ever pirated and then purchased after beating out of respect.
I did this with a few others as well. Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, Stars in Shadow, Synthetik come to mind.
the developers are making a new game, but yeah it won't be CC2
Whats the woke score? Any homosexualry?
there is but its treated like a weird online playgroup you party up with sometimes
Into the trash it goes.
>Female Blue-Haired Protagonist
Normally a problem but I kind of don't care because the game is so good
>A couple Black person characters
Not really a big deal I guess
>At least 1-2 gay characters but it's not super annoying
I think they were closeted in the original game but come out as homosexuals in the DLC. Can't remember. Also I think your redhead tomboy friend is a lesbian for you. I don't remember.
This is probably the best way to describe it. It's like dealing with the standard homosexuals that you'd have to if you were actually playing an MMO. You aren't forced to be nice to them or anything.
>Sea of Stars
I tried sea of shills because my friend got it free on psplus, it seems "ok" but the whole time i felt like i should just be playing chrono trigger
I seemed to have hit a wall around the desert town, even when I'm overleved, but these lizards are kicking my teeth in?
what lizards? the sandsharks? you can ignore them for now if you cant deal with them, ice element makes them much easier to frick up with their terrain traps.
>Why nobody talks about this game?
BECAUSE YOU'RE SEVERAL YEARS LATE, moron
>Why nobody talks about this game?
?? we played it and beat it years ago
I'm a tad salty about Reize being in it
but I try not to let his minor sidequest over shadow a solid indie game
unlike Sea of Stars I actually liked the story in this one
iirc there is a triblade mod but I havent tried to play it yet
Could be worse. Why the frick was Reize like a crucial character in the Shovel Knight's Plague Knight Campaign?
actually the patron fricking despised how shovel knight handled his character because the way they used him in the third campaign completely broke a couple of his biggest rules: Don't give him a concrete point of origin, don't give him parents, don't have him become corrupted or evil or really change how he acts in the slightest.
We unfortunately never got any public seethe, but he blew his entire cameo in Indivisible talking about fricking Shovel Knight so safe to say it lives rent free in his head.
The temples were absolute ass. Every room was a "how much longer is this shit going to take?" room. Even the overworld puzzles were more fun despite being absolutely moronic sometimes (especially those on the desert/beach).
Enemy design too gimmicky, some bosses even worse, silly referential humor out the ass (just too much), out of place guest characters, awkward controller aiming, too many filler quests, probably more I'm forgetting.
STILL a great game, somehow, but a mixed bag if I ever saw one.
The music managed to me to remind of PSO, old KMMO, and even older JRPGs at the same time, definitely a strong point.
Also
>makes 2 characters gay, but neither is Lea and both are male
Now THAT shit was gayer than gay. Disappointing.
>STILL a great game, somehow, but a mixed bag if I ever saw one.
Perfection is unknowable, unattainable.
One must love, despite the objects of one's love not being perfect.
That said, holy shit this game has room for improvement and yet it's still a 10/10.
Story peaks halfway through, and they completely fumble and can't stick the landing. Convoluted nonsense to get the "true" end or whatever it is.
Frick them for not letting me customize my own button layout.
Crosscode's main game final dungeon was awful, the DLC final dungeon was a lot better. I wish there was more to the game, outdoor sections were cool, dungeons were cool, bosses were cool. Puzzles were hit or miss, by the end of the game the puzzles were impressive by videogame standards.
If anyone is interested in playing, the best way to play is to skip EVERY side quest, all of them. Doing them will have you outlevel everything and reduce the challenge, theres no interesting story or anything to them, they were modeled after MMO fetch quests. Having the bossfights be difficult is very rewarding.
dropped the game when i reached the part where you return to the vermilion wasteland. i'll probably finish it someday, i just have no strong feelings towards the game
I didn't even realize there was DLC for this. A bit hesitant to dive back in, as a DLC probably means they ramp up the intensity/complexity of everything and my muscle memory is long gone.
CC is the good shit though. Definitely on my short list of best indie games of the past decade, and even moreso a standout as just a really good RPG. The vermillion wasteland sequence still sticks with me years after the fact. It's by no means perfect but it doesnt have to be because its memorable and executes well on the parts that make it unique
I played this years ago as a demo on Newgrounds, I remember liking it, how much content does this game have?
30+ hours. Significantly more if you do everything.
my save stopped tracking time at 99 hours 59 minutes.
I got 135 hours after completing everything, but that's because I REALLY like taking my time, I'd say it's like 80 hours if you want to get the most of it
>it's on par with undertale
Undertale is shit
Female protagonist so I assumed it was a troony game.
She's attractive, so you know that it's not. Trannies obviously want you to think that a male bone structure is perfectly normal for women.
Trannies have no self-awareness, else they wouldn't be trannies.
This thread is a textbook example of a discord raid shilling a game.
Its wasn't bad, but was mediocre just like Sea of Stars
Sea of Stars was fricking terrible, there's no way CrossCode is anywhere near as bad as that piece of shit.
im cautious about sea of stars and I wanna hear why its good or bad. ive heard quick takes loving it and hating it.
all I ever hear is blah blah blah chrono trigger graphics. i liked chrono trigger, star ocean 2, and cross code. will I like this game?
Mario RPG combat has more depth, and i mean a LOT more depth
The game looks good and has some decent songs, but I think the gameplay, story, and characters are all really bad.
The two main protagonists basically have no personality and are constantly shown up by their childhood friend who is just perfect in every way and everyone loves him. The game relentlessly sucks him off at every opportunity.
It has probably the worst final boss and ending I have ever experienced in a game, spoilers ahead.
If you bother to get the true ending and beat the Fleshmancer, one of your party members who's an old friend of his just goes in a portal with him and fricks off, and then the game is over. Your whole party watches as he gets away with everything. A character who has conquered multiple worlds and is irredeemably evil. Just awful.
In terms of gameplay, enemies have "locks" on them that you break by using the element the lock has, and by breaking them you stop their attacks. So most of combat is just you switching characters to break the enemies' locks so you take no damage, and if there's ever a situation where you might not be able to break a lock in time you just switch to the character that can delay the enemies' turns so you can. It's a very easy game.
Each character gets a measly 3-4 moves over the course of 30+ hour game, which is incredibly low for an RPG. Doing the same inputs over and over for shit like Moonarang gets old really fricking quick, especially when it's one of your only sources of moon elemental damage. There are combo moves between characters as well, but a lot of them are just standard moves with an extra input.
You can pick which stats to focus with on a level up which is nice, but all equipment is just buy a new set at the next town because its always better.
Puzzles are incredibly easy compared to CrossCode.
I genuinely do not understand how this game gets as much praise as it does, I don't think it deserves it at all.
thanks
>constantly shown up by their childhood friend who is just perfect in every way and everyone loves him. The game relentlessly sucks him off at every opportunity.
I played like maybe 2 hours and already was fricking tired of the forced bullshit from the fat kid cook who just has a shield. so stupid.
Why do you relate the two at all? Because they have pixel art? This game has actual fricking gameplay. If you like videogames you will like this game a lot.
Who the frick even cares about SoS at all.
shills, just like about troon world, noita or this shitty game
Nah I'm pretty sure you just have brain damage.
>This thread is a textbook example of a discord raid shilling a game.
>nooooooo you can't talk about a videogame that didn't have a huge hype campaign for me to jump onto noooooooooo
>muh discord
Dilate obnoxious frick
>didn't have a huge hype campaign
says the shill pushing this game for years
>shill shill shill
People talked about this game for years because it's one of the rare indie games that's actually pretty good quality, very well done and actually had love put into it. I bet you're one of the gays that soifaced over every hyped up high budget release that got sucked off by "critics" then ssethed over people discussing indie games like Pizza Tower.
>sseth'd
>sseethe'd
heh
its true
anytime you talk about an indie game you're like a shill or something
it's funny and sad at the same time
like holy shit dont you dare enjoy an actual hidden gem
if you arent playing big budget dogshit you are a shill!
or it has to be like an "approved" indie like hades or hollow knight or slay the spire or something
you won't see anyone on Ganker talking about Ghostlore or anything like that, and even if you find something interesting like void stranger, you're called a shill for 6 months or so.
>like hades or hollow knight
Approved indies just become "reddit" after a certain time period. There's no freedom for indie discussions.
>actually pretty good quality, very well done
it's not, shill, it's generic troonyslop only being shilled because the troony devs support the agenda
>void stranger
funny how instead of listing any of actually good indies released lately you pick the biggest shill of the last few months, only recently replaced by b*latro
meds, take 'em
Because it's a singleplayer game that was completed not once, but twice, through its standard and DLC endings. People talk about it all the time when you talk about indie kino.
>it's on par with undertale
dont insult crosscode like that. undertale is stupid. cross code was my goty, man. frick whatever else came out when 1.0 dropped.
you guys fell for it
it's nothing like crosscode except being indie pixelshit.
the gameplay is a lot shittier.
idc if I fed a troll. way waaaay too many people actually like undertale. I aint gonna let that slide.
>hurrrr u fell for it
Or maybe you're called a moron because you're a moron
Harry Potter looking mf
he was intentionally a Harry Potter looking ass to sell the illusion
Honestly I understand if you think the early game combat is repetitive or too basic, but if you still think the same after getting fire and ice then you're just bad at it
It was pretty fun, but I hate literally everything about the setting. MMOs are gay, SAO is gay, I hate that fake friend kinda plot like newer FE does, all of it just makes me wince. They keep having drama and I'm just trying to throw balls at shit. Made it to the dual temple place in the woods or something before I forgot to keep playing.
Also 90% of the overworld is just searching for the one screen with a staircase so I can go up and try the secret jumps and stuff again.
All that said, despite hating the French, freckles, and short hair, I am overcome with a powerful need to tenderly love the French girl.
>Made it to the dual temple place in the woods or something before I forgot to keep playing.
That's just a little bit before the game gets good. The MMO shit is all fluff until it gets to the AI cloning plotline in chapter 7 where they torture AI clones of players to get banking/credit card information out of them before disposing of them like cattle. Pretty cool sequences and some super cliche shit follows that they treat earnestly, like hacking the game to gain exponentially greater stats to kill a boss with seemingly-infinite health. I'd recommend giving it another swing if you can stand to stomach it since you jumped ship right before it reached port.
They also tone down on the MMO shit a bit later on. It's still a factor of course.
Also the lead designer behind the (in-universe) game becomes a(n in-game) God at the end of the game, and you get to kill God. Personally I'm an absolute sucker for that shit, and I resonate with Gautham who didn't care about any of that gay organized crime bullshit and just wanted to make The Ultimate Experience. When he walks out and shakes your hand before falling through the instamatter bridge to his death, I unironically teared up a little. The dude was unfathomably based.
>you get to kill God
why is every fricking would-be-jrpg have this stupid fricking trope
because gods must die, simple as
It's fine because it's just in-game God, not actual God.
Crosscode does a lot of cliches but plays them straight, which is something that's lost on a lot of other games.
i killed richard branson in ultima online, ama
Maybe I got further than that then, I remember some stuff blowing through walls and some cheats or something.
I'll give them that the idea of mixing real matter and digital shit is cool, but I'm like 20 hours deep by that point, it seems BS to say it gets good there. The main girl's the only character I really like beyond being horny for the frog, but if I skip all the cutscenes I won't know what's happening.
I'll finish it someday out of completion autism, but I probably wouldn't give it these 10/10 scores I see you guys throwin' around.
I'd personally give it something closer to an 8. I've mentioned that it has a slow start-up and the parts of the game you were complaining about are easily the most miserable portions of it. It has some really good highs but those disappointing lows to counterbalance it.
That seems more fair, I might just do what that earlier dude said and start skipping side stuff. Running in circles for hours trying to figure out how to jump up buildings or cliffs kinda stunk, but most of the combat was cool. The lava and ice bosses were sick. The rival guy with the annoying fights becoming your teammate for a while was cool too, frick your usual squad.
>The rival guy with the annoying fights becoming your teammate for a while was cool too
They make him gay for his black guy buddy in the DLC
>tower defense in crosscode
oh shit I remember that sidequest
that was actually pretty fun and memorable
most of them arent liek that though.
Well damn, guess I won't buy the DLC and will try to ignore that you ever said that. Frick man, couldn't it have been the purple dude? He already looks the type anyway. Why's the homo-virus gotta strike good characters?
They were already gay before the dlc
they were just friends dude
actual male friends have this dynamic with no gay shit attached
i know its hard to imagine since you have no friends
Now who do I believe?
At least the french girl is hot, they can't take that from me.
They own pets together, they talk abour their cats while playing with you in the jungle
yeah dude they're roommates
again, hard to believe, but it is possible to be someone's roommate without fricking them in the ass or getting fricked in the ass by them
especially if you're a gamer in your 20s or whatever
a lot of guys i know shared an apartment with another guy for a while and didn't smoke any wiener.
If you share pets with your male roomate you are gay for him
The french girl is les, but it's ok because she's only lez for your character, and yuri is the purest form of love
i think he meant "mainstream indies"
shit that you'll find on a shelf in walmart like deadcells
Lesbians basically don't count anyway. Slammin' clams is somehow not as disturbing a crusty dude ass getting pistoned.
Anyway, all that aside, I can't believe this thing
made it in. Dude really oughta just be banned from kickstarter or whatever he's doing to put this thing in videogames. I'd rather it was Sonichu.
>hates freckles and short hair
Why are you gay?
The short hair varies a little bit based on style. Some of the angular bob-cut stuff is cool, but the weird basically-buzzcut a lot of people call "tomboy" sucks ass.
Freckles just suck, 'ayte gingers, simple as.
>Why nobody talks about this game?
Why can't ESL's form basic sentences correctly?
Why can't americans?
because it's perfectly readable to anyone who's not a grammar autist
Different dude, but you could also do that thing where you mix up all but the starting and ending letters of words and it's still readable. Doesn't mean you should, it looks like shit.
That said, persecuting a guy for a dumb typo is also gay. Make of this what you will.
good game if you like puzzles
i liked her boobs
that is all
what about the best track in the whole game?
I think you posted the wrong link there, pal.
I remember laughing my ass off when they used this track for the fricking goat fight
it's really not that good
pretty boring game tbh
It's a troony game about trannies.
Because this is another bad shill game made by trannies. Frick off back to /indie/ shill, don't you have pacific drive to promote?
Kys zoomer, go back to soifacing over gacha and palworld.
I really like it. The puzzles are interesting and varied. The platforming is also really great for a 2d game. Its MMO-esque atmosphere is comfy too. The story is solid. Just an all around great game.
It really needed a jump button. Plus the puzzles got moronic late game
>puzzles got moronic late game
I also didn't like how it became less about solving something and instead just remembering some damn sequence you have to do. For example pic related was stupid simple to break down but you had to time everything.
I respect the final puzzle for being a intentional troll that's actually pretty reasonable once you go through it.
And puzzle assist slowdown exists if you need it.
I got this expecting it to be a neat action rpg but all that I got was zelda puzzles nonstop and tumblr art. I promptly uninstalled refunded.
Really homie? We had a shill thread every other week
https://arch.b4k.co/v/search/image/k9K7PgUw8_hxOI5s6vKnCg/
everyone uses that image because it's one of the first ones that pop up on google
i my self have made a thread with that image once.
Explain:
https://arch.b4k.co/v/search/text/%3Eit%27s%20actually%20good/image/k9K7PgUw8_hxOI5s6vKnCg/type/op/
It has great puzzle design but I hate overworld traversal. I'm in the weird hell area with the German dude and got bored
>hate overworld traversal
just fast travel you moron
is this the new shill tactic?
"i pirated it, felt guilty, and bought it" ?
how much are you paid to shill the game here?
i'm just surprised because i actually really like it.
it has a jump button you moron.
I mean the overworld traversal puzzles. Right now I can't even fast travel anyway
I remember playing the demo on newgrounds way back.
I pirated it and after finishing it, I felt so guilty of not paying for it, I bought it at full price.
So, did Ctron deserve to stay at the end?
It didn't really hook me long term. I think I played for 10 hours and then dropped it.
this game makes me want to shoot myself
i played it in 2019 and have many fond memories about how much better life was when i was going through it
thinking about it is extremely painful
oh hey, is that an indie game? let me just...
yes. now it is perfect.
can you believe they even shoved this dumb Black person into valids story?
at least the game shits on him.
Still kinda mad that the only pvp character in the whole game that isn't basically a mirror match is a character from this guy
that's also a cheating butthole. fricker was spamming tier 3 arts like water.
I returned the favor and just spammed tier 3 lighting dash arts till she died, got platinum for it so I only had to fight her once
Sao is hardly a mirror match.
There's too much difference between his fights and pvp ones I think, but I guess it kinda counts
If he's got this much money, why doesn't he just make his own damn game? Is it because he realizes his self insert is a shitty character?
He is making a game. Here's some old footage.
I think the whole reason he started doing this was to make his character recognizable for when his game finishes.
>check out the other games from this group
>it's a small group who made an rpg maker game once
oh lol
https://store.steampowered.com/app/938100/Sacred_Earth__Promise/
off model and uncanny. disgusting.
its more like. one of them had a cat. after living with it for a year its more like a shared cat.
Anon that's official art.
I picked this game up just because the mechanics look so god damn good and reminds me of old DS rpgs I used to play. Now its in the backlog. I hate when I forget about things like this.
Crosscode is just one of those games where if you think it's bad I know for a fact you have awful taste.
>oh no that's a cross code shill back at it again
I'm tired man, stop it, I don't want to see 1000 same posts over and over again
>everyone who talks about this game is one guy
one discord of around 5 trannies
>muh discord
>muh trannies
Please talk like a real person and not a Gankerermin Black person
>Gankerermin Black person
so... you're an outsider?
shills are not worth talking to, go back
>par with undertale
Undertale is dog shit, have a nice day you pathetic zoomer.
I liked it, though a bit tedious at times.
Lea is cute.
Because the only known workaround to slow-ass Skill screen (or whichever, I forget because it's been a while) is to lower your monitor's refresh rate and I'm too lazy to lower my refresh rate every fricking time I boot up a game to make it work.
Same for No More Heroes on PC, so it's not like I shit on indie games exclusively.
sounds like you need some new hardware or something dude, what the frick
If I need more than a 9900KS and a 4090 to run this game, then it's coded by absolute morons.
https://steamcommunity.com/app/368340/discussions/0/3409803709046122668/ and I'm not the only one with the problem
Play on a console
Got pretty far in it, but got sidetracked and dropped it for a while because those mantis enemies in the double temples were a fricking chore to fight.
The stupid and moronic puzzles were fun! Frick green haired dude though
