Because it takes hours to get anywhere interesting and then hours to get to another interesting place and then the day is done. In a video game you can do all that in minutes.
>go hiking >see a tree >see a similar tree >see a slightly different tree >see a tree similar to the first tree again >see a different tree >see another tree like the first tree >see a rock >see a tree similar to the second tree
Such excitement...
>go hiking >see a tree >swing on a branch a little bit >keep hiking >breathe in the fresh air >engage my lower body >find a field of flowers >notice the temperature is cooler and the air is crisper >appreciate it
When I was in the Philippines a couple of years ago, staying with relatives, I would go jogging at the nearby beach which was behind the houses across the thoroughfares from where I was staying. There's a lot more variety in the scenery when you jog a mile or more in whichever direction.
Maybe try hiking for more than a mile if you want to see something interesting.

Outside is for reading and chasing women. Inside is for fun.
Inventory management sucks
Stats are too hard to train
Overtuned damage and medical takes too long
Too many different RNG chances to just instantly die
And permadeath on top of all of that too
I don't see how anybody makes it past level 30 tbh

Does your podunk town not have a single wooded park? Not "benches and a couple of grills and a playground" park, but just like a designated "this is fricking nature" park? Even the shittiest places I've lived in have had this within 15 minutes of driving.

Google Earth (formerly Keyhole) is one of Humanity's only proud achievements and arguably the only good product of all the data collection and government surveillance and dystopic hell the public are subjected to daily, and it's free to use.
One of the only few universally positive products of Capitalism I can count on one hand

I like stargazing sometimes but I don't have a good telescope. I also sometimes go look for fossils in the local road cuts and streams and also look for river stones I prefer the reddish ones
This is like asking why I would go to a museum instead of a natural park. They offer completely different things. I go outside to enjoy the fresh air and look at plants and rock formations with a smile on my face. I play games because they offer exciting, novel experiences and fantasies that I can't get in real life or really in any other form of media.
They're fun to visit every so often, would never want to live in one. Yes, you have dozens upon dozens of venues for entertainment (it's where the arcades exist now), lots of food choices, seasonal events, etc; but goddamn, it is just sensory overload. I feel drained after a day downtown and I frequent a rather smaller city.
>go outside to go get some groceries >see another boomer complaining about pointless shit and wasting everyone's time because they need to be powertripping c**ts for no reason
I think that's very fair since those kinds of games don't really offer a whole lot of fun gameplay. They kinda miss the point of being video games and are almost better at just being well-designed visual setpieces that you can walk around in.
I don't live in place that isn't a concrete jungle and even then you could never find anything really interesting if you tried besides forests
and even then video games are much more interesting
city Black folk will never
I’ll never understand why people love big cities
if cities were built for beauty instead of cost, i could understand, but they're not. Its a bunch of buildings you can't even step foot in.
Continental european and east asian cities are great, anywhere else and they suck.

that's why you go hiking

>Portland is homeless meth head central with crime on par to L.A.
Accurate.
I like stargazing sometimes but I don't have a good telescope. I also sometimes go look for fossils in the local road cuts and streams and also look for river stones I prefer the reddish ones
But I go outside to play vidya at arcades

Incredibly based knower.

But that's where the sun is. It's too bright out there.
I actually do think this when it comes to modern open world games.
I think that's very fair since those kinds of games don't really offer a whole lot of fun gameplay. They kinda miss the point of being video games and are almost better at just being well-designed visual setpieces that you can walk around in.
Where can I get more seamlessly looping nature backgrounds like this? Preferably with waterfalls. This is very soothing.
All that is around me is miles upon miles of corn fields
Still waiting for an injury to one of my legs/ankle to heal. When it is at 100%, then I go back to weightlifting and jogging when the weather is good.
i live in florida homie
second reimagining of hell
poor people serfs aren't allowed to experience Earth's natural beauty. Stay inside the metro and spend money.
I don't live in place that isn't a concrete jungle and even then you could never find anything really interesting if you tried besides forests

I'm a mixed race brazillian (white skinned) and I absolutely love nature, it fills me with peace.
I work outside, I'm sick of it
I’m sure the outside is sick of you as well buddy.
Why post in Ganker when you can play videogames?
>no save
nah
Play outside for 10 hours a day every day for years? No, fricking idiot.
Wow waterfalls am I supposed to be impressed?
It has been raining for twelve weeks almost non-stop.
Where do you live?I love rain.
Rain is good for you.
Last time I got in trouble for attacking geese with a sword.
my videogames have better graphics
I will once the bugs frick off
You can go outside and then come home and play video games.
The more time you spend outside the faster you age.
>The more time you spend outside the faster you age.
>Tfw game bugs out and marks my house as outdoors
Shit game 1/10
