I played PoE years ago and I went in totally blind. Played some ranged gunner and finished the campaign. I really tried to analyze the skills and skilltree to make my own build but the thing that always happens in arpgs when you go in blind happened which is you either become a damage monster that dies in 1 hit, or you become an unkillable tank with no damage. I became a glasscannon. At that moment I realized if I wanted to progress I had to read guides to get the proper builds and I just chose to quit the game instead. Had fun playing the campaign blind but that was it.
PoE is very based for allowing the greatest fantasy fighting style ever, DUAL WIELD WANDS
However, it also cringe because DUAL WIELD WANDS isn't the best build in the game, which is unrealistic as Wizards are already very strong so a Double-Wizard should be better than anything.
Divinity OS2 definitely has an extremely powerful wandslinger endgame.

You can continue playing Path of Exile and give Diablo a try. If Diablo ends up sucking, which most likely will, then drop it. But why should it suck? You people eat up garbage like RDR2 and the mediocre RE 4R. At least give Diablo a genuine try.

I'm already seeing flaws in the design. Like how Necro's +15% movement skill is bound to doing darkness damage aka blighted corpse explosion. So you get insane massive screen covering aoe dot damage that even stack under bosses and getting +15% movement speed to boot? Why would I ever use like bone spear or any of that shit that is less aoe and doesn't reward you with any movement speed in the skilltree? They should've made it a separate thing in the tree not bind it to some damage type. Big mistake.
Things like that are easily fixed though.

D4 is obviously going after the casual audience. Serious PoE players will probably play through the campaign and then drop it forever or maybe come back for a day or two on season drop because there’s no depth. I don’t think Blizzard is targeting the turbo autist niche that PoE captures (and even if they were, they no longer have the design chops to pull it off).

Diablo 3/4 has the best combat in the genre in that it feels the most satisfying due to great animations/sounds/feedback. But PoE is free, and has more variety in builds with less RNG involved. That being said whats the point of having lots of builds when they all feel the exact same?
The only other ARPG that felt as good is The Ascent. Its clearly hard to make smooth isometric gameplay and PoE just aint good at that.
