Last Epoch has more skill customisation in one skill than an entire class has in D4.
I was hyped for D4 but the stress test was enough to know it is just another high budget casual game.
>one of the best itemization, skill trees and augments with the constellations in any rpg ever made >vegan
If grim dawn is vegan, you're on insect diet by now.
>Open last GD >Install mod class mod packs >Never need another ARPG again
I haven't even touched mods yet. I got filtered by this game a few times, but it's really fun. My only gripe is the shitty movement. Is there a mod that removes the acceleration when you move?
I saw a couple vids about it that Asmon watched and also Zizaran made some vids about it. It didn't seem unfinished, they just released the game early to help with financing. But the game looked "finished" they just havent fleshed out everything. The crafting in particular, while less complex than PoE, looked really interesting to me. Also the gambling at the end of dungeons looked really cool
It's decent and I got some good fun out of it, but it's still early access and they spent a full year for the multiplayer implementation.
Go for it if you're desperate for an arpg otherwise wait for release
i have 500 hours.
the endgame is not fleshed out yet.
but poe isnt either if you take away all the league mechanics that went core.
LE endgame mapping is essentially just a boss rush.
it needs poe style league mechanics so there is something else to do in a map some other reason to not just b-line to the boss.
it has dungeons and an endless arena horde mode thing which is not great.
dungeons are good but feel a little limited right now.
wait for the 1.0 release to check it out.
i was leveling the playing field you fricking moron.
LE is always compared to poe and people always say how much more content poe has yada yada.
i was saying that right now(no leagues) LE is a boss rush which isnt that far off from poe(no leagues)
The thing with PoE is, they add new crafting methods aswell that add a shit ton of replayability
Yea yeah loot casino, gambling whatever, thats what hardcore ARPG players enjoy. I dunno how the crafting system works exactly in LE, but it looked quite similar to PoE with the exception that you basically brick items after a couple of tries, you cant infinitely re-use the base
I have and nothing changes, so don't give me that fricking bullshit.
When (You) get to endgame, all you do is buy the items those autistic streamers crafted themselves.
Unless by "crafting" you mean spending a bunch of divines on some guaranteed mods from the bench.

Neither will PoE2 lol.

You literally started talking about PoE though.
And yes, I'm implying that PoE2 is the exact same Chinkshit PoE is.

Sure let's assume I mentioned poe2. Doesn't change the fact you're shilling a game that will be doa.
Have you ever used craft of exile? It makes crafting pretty easy. I know it seems hard at first look but you should give it a shot. The more you do it the more you will learn the easier it will get, and the knowledge will carry over to the new leagues.
LE is without a doubt a far better game than Diablo 4, but it's an early access title and not finished yet.
You will still be able to get countless more fun out of the game compared to d4.
Game is great for the story, and has a 1000 years more advanced skill customization than D4. But it's autistically difficult and just as grindy as everything else.
You should stop playing ARPGs
This genre has no future
It's just going to descend further into an MTX hell from which it shan't emerge, it has been solved, no further value or design space can be extracted from this husk.
You could say the same about MMOs, shooters, strategy games(paradox), music games(many going sub based), puzzle games, racing games, I'm running out of genre games
I have had Last Epoch on steam for ages now but I just can't get into arpg's anymore but the moment I feel it again I wanna play LE. The rogue class seems really good its just the 'early game', but I read they changed the beginning in a late patch.
I haven't tried Diablo 4 and probably won't because >Blizzard, but I do have a few thousand collective hours between PoE between 2.0 and 3.1x, and LE as of a few major patches ago. I've also played a few more minor ARPGs like Chronicon, Titan Quest, Torchlight 2, etc.
For whatever my opinion is worth, which is not much, I think the Last Epoch devs are the most aware of the fundamental flaws with the genre and put in the most active efforts to curtailing the more self-destructive trends which appear in these games. They seem like they have a more high level view of the systems which interact to form the game than other devs, for the most part. Unfortunately, I think they are also not exactly the most skilled at the actual developing, so the game is incredibly well designed, but amateurish in execution, which prevents it from reaching its full potential. I still hold out hope for it, because AFAIK it is their very first project, so hopefully with time the experience in development will come and they can polish things to a degree where it doesn't feel silly to compare it against a seven figure game like Diablo 4. For now, I'm not playing it, just keeping an eye on it.
The genre has deep issues, and too many devs (and players) seem content to just let it accelerate them to the point of maximum frickery rather than trying to solve them, work around them, or even just restrain them even slightly, Path of Exile being the worst example but every game in the genre being guilty of it to some extent. It's gotten so bad that this has largely become my benchmark of whether I think a game will turn out well or not.
I think they're probably at least a year and a half out from release, maybe more. There is a lot of polish that needs to be done. The game is eminently playable as it is, but you really start to feel the systems that are missing after a couple hundred hours right now.
A year and a half will be end 2024 early 2025
That also means a frickton of other games release, and will be compared to, including PoE2
I doubt the game being pushed so far will be good, but what do I know.
PoE wasnt exactly a smash hit during its year long beta or whatever it was.
Now im not saying LE hasnt already been early access for a while but the idea is to improve the game over time until it gets a few major patches where more people will start to recommend it and then more people will start to buy it
They have an uphill battle to fight, for sure, but fans of this genre are nothing if not obsessive and prone to sunk-cost fallacy. They could go the distance.
i realize the only reason I play arpgs is so I can unironically read something on my other monitor. the gameplay is like subway surfers but you have to pay attention to it much less
Pirated LE early access and it was fun but I'm gonna wait til it actually releases so that I can pirate the full build >diablo 4
yeah, not touching that garbage
I dont get why people think LE ”actual release” will be drastically different from the patch before the ”actual release”. I expect it to be like Minecrafts ”official release” i.e they made a bigger than usual patch and dropped the early access/beta label.
Last Epoch has more skill customisation in one skill than an entire class has in D4.
I was hyped for D4 but the stress test was enough to know it is just another high budget casual game.
>high budget casual game
ALL diablo games are this
Name 1 ARPG with actual depth and interesting gameplay
It's just a mix of musou with grind similar to a MMO
You either get depth or gameplay
Pick one and only one
Nioh
You were hyped? Are you a moron?
For the same reason you bought Last Epoch, probably.
>open Last Epoch page
>Early Access Game
>close Last Epoch page
why should I buy last epoch when I got grim dawn?
grim dawn players are the vegans of arpg fans.
Filtered
>one of the best itemization, skill trees and augments with the constellations in any rpg ever made

If grim dawn is vegan, you're on insect diet by now.

Which mods you play with Anon?
I haven't even touched mods yet. I got filtered by this game a few times, but it's really fun. My only gripe is the shitty movement. Is there a mod that removes the acceleration when you move?
Dawn of Masteries really got me going.
GD Stash
Grimarillion
Those are the main ones I remember.
LE is slow as shit and mob density is ass. Just like Diablo 4, so what I mean to say is play PoE.
poe skill system and talent tree is epitome of unfun
Why should you buy Diablo 4 when you have your sanity?
Frick off gays its time for a real game
because last epoch is fricking boring
a d4 character at lvl 15 is more engaging with bigger, flashier attacks than a maxed out last epoch character
zoom zoom
a d3 character at lvl 15 is more engaging with bigger, flashier attacks than a maxed out last epoch character*
>bigger, flashier
boring is good?
>if it isnt big and flashy it is boring
hold on i have just the game for you
Neither Last Epoch or D4 is better than D2 or even fricking Torchlight.
This genre is regressing.
Why should I buy diablo or Last Epoch when I got a gf?
I am insanely interested in Last Epoch but I keep hearing the endgame is just not quite fleshed out yet. Is it worth buying anyways?
Do not support EA.
Play and buy games when they are finished.

Are you moronic?
no, are you?
how does my comment not make sense?
POE has no content when you take away all the content.
Incredible take

Literally nobody except streamers who get infinite currency boosts from their stream bother with crafting, so don't give me that bullshit.
>I've never gotten to endgame poe
Lol
I have and nothing changes, so don't give me that fricking bullshit.

its deterministic(ish)
here if your brain can handle watching a 10 minute video.
LE is without a doubt a far better game than Diablo 4, but it's an early access title and not finished yet.

Don't but either
D4 is gacha trash. Epoch is EA.
I'll consider playing your game when it's done, thanks.
Didn't they just add an ingame shop? I ain't touching that shit if I also have to buy it. Also
>early access
I wish lost epoch had character customization
Why? the game is zoomed out.
So? Why even have armor designs then
Also gender locking classes is a dated concept
>Also gender locking classes is a dated concept
It's a great concept and your words make me thing you're a homosexual and possibly underage.
It's a dated concept, also a black paladin is unrealistic
yeah i never liked it even in diablo 2, and in last epoch the homiedin looks famished
It's kinda clunky tbh.
Diablo at least feels great to play.
Wolcen is unironically fun to play, why does everyone hate it?
its french.
oof did not know that
wonder if I can refund
this game is janky ugly trash, d4 isn't
t. I played both for over 30 hours now
>30 hours now
lol
but how long ago.
act 1 just got reworked.
Game is great for the story, and has a 1000 years more advanced skill customization than D4. But it's autistically difficult and just as grindy as everything else.
PoE sucks.
Diablo 2: LoD 1.14d sucks.
Diablo 3 sucks.
Diablo 4 sucks.
Last Epoch sucks.
Wolcen sucks.
Torchlight sucks.
Lost Ark sucks.
Din's Curse sucks.
Titan Quest sucks.
Shadows: Awakening sucks.
Vikings - Wolves of Midgard sucks.
Grim Dawn is OK.
Nox is God.
you should not
You should stop playing ARPGs
This genre has no future
It's just going to descend further into an MTX hell from which it shan't emerge, it has been solved, no further value or design space can be extracted from this husk.
Disregard modern ARPGs, return to Diablo 2

They can't all be always online.

do you know how the game will feel at release ?
I don't know if I should play it now or wait for release

is the story in last epoch done? are all classes released yet? i don't want to play the game when there's still content to be released, up to a point
Afaik yes story is done and all classes are released. They’re mostly working on systems now, releasing new items etc
Because I don't want to burn myself out on an incomplete game. You said it yourself - they're still working on stuff and adding content.
