Well, we tried our best to hide it from you. Nothing personal, it's just that our club is already full.

How come companies don't do this anymore, like having mini games on phones that give items to use on console games or something.

Because that requires soul and a modicum of effort, how about another battle pass and $25 Nikki Minaj skin

Because DLC and microtransactions exist now. There's no incentive to get creative with that kind of thing when you can just put a price tag on it in-game. Sad but that's the world now.

it's the other way around these days
buy a console spinoff and you get something in the gacha

I was stunned to see how many people bought Gran Blue Fantasy Versus on launch for some shitty gacha content. Neither of those games are good...

I'm ashamed to say I did something like this, but all the way back on SSBM on GameCube. I bought a used copy of Pikmin just so I could get the Captain Olimar trophy. I didn't like it that much when I actually tried to play it.

Going to be the opposite in the future – boost Pokemon sales on consoles for GO goodies and so on…

Any time phones are involved you're better off just making a phone "game" to fleece mobilegays for all their money instead of doing anything fun.

Some games a few years ago tried what you’re describing and people shat on them for it.

Fallout 4 and MGSV both had phone apps, they sucked.

even GTA V had the ifruit app, which i only really remember affecting franklin's dog's mood (it was a lame excuse for a tamagotchi type thing. the dog would shit all over the place and you had to clean it up or else he'd be grumpy when you played the real game) and it let you change the text on your cars' plates.

Just another example of when Sega did things first.

Other examples of things Sega did first:
Exit the console business, run their IP into the ground, get taken over by a pachinko company

At least we'll always have Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the only good Sonic game ever made.

If you don't have expensive cable money you are in the wrong hobby.

I have spent at least $600 on fancy component cables and converters.

      >got this useless cable in the box with my neo geo pocket, also in the box
      >stack of great games too, all in the box
      >paid 60 bucks for all of it
      >Still have it all

Almost feel like I avenged the massive amount of colecovision and atari 2600 shit I sold off when I was a kid, but I'd still rather have that instead.
